[Walter Ignis' POV]

.

.

"So, you are leaving for your hometown with your father, huh?" asked the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life. Her eyes blue as she looked at me with a soft gaze, her lips soft pink and small as she smiled at me with care. Her blonde hair that reached a bit below her waist that expressed her foreign origin. She played with it a little as she wore the doctor's apron.

"Yes… Miss Alissa,"I answered as I looked at her mesmerized. She was as sweet as possible, helping me in any way she could.

'How come some as pure as her turned into that vicious lady?' I gave a dry chuckle as I compared the Miss Alissa of the last timeline. The difference was between heaven and earth.. It was as if I were looking at a totally different person in front of me.

Perhaps the apocalypse made her like that… I guess it was a good thing she didn't remember her past life.' I sighed, relaxed a little as I turned to my sister, who was on the hospital bed right now.

"How… do you know Michael?" she asked with a pure gaze as her cheeks turned red with slight embarrassment. How cute! She looked like an angel there for a few seconds.

"He. He helped me out with a few things… and we became friends on the way…" I answered as I looked at her. While I do want to help her, I think it is better if she doesn't know about the apocalypse.

'I must do something about it… I cannot let the Apocalypse take this side of miss Alissa,' determination filled my chest as I became more manly than I was before. I must protect Miss Alissa's smile.

"Is that so?" she spoke as she got lost in her own thoughts before speaking,"I guess she will be in a coma for a few more weeks before she wakes up. Just make sure to come back fast, okay?"

Her voice is so pure!

I looked at her genuine eyes as I smiled at her with slight embarrassment. Nodding at her, I moved out of the hospital room as I saw my father standing with flowers there. They were blue roses, my sister's favorite. A smile formed on my face as I muttered,"I will wait near the cab."

He nodded as he went inside while I moved outside to the cab and let myself fall on the back seat with slight exhaustion sinking in as I finally let my guard down with everything.

"Can't believe it is already done…" I thought as I recalled everything that had happened in the past one week. I have gained some trustable friends, my enemies are gone… Things are finally back on track and the bonus of being an Arcanist…

"To think this world has so many secrets," I thought as I recalled that red demon and Sir Michael. It wasn't just them but the trio who helped us kill those bastards… I wonder how life will move now?

For me, life was simple. As long as I work hard, I will get whatever I want. Hard work betrays no one… the success might come late but you will get what you want. At least that's what I picked up from my father. And I was glad that I did that…

"Hey, ready to go?" Father arrived as he sat in the car beside me and I nodded with a smile while the cab started driving. For the next few hours, we kept talking about what to do next while Father also asked a lot about how I met sir Michael and everything else that had transpired.

The journey was pleasant as we talked about a lot of things, both the future and the past where we were in the village. Father looked much better as he talked about all the things, sometimes even crying in between as he looked at me.

"I am proud of you son,"he spoke at the end with a smile as I felt an inexpressible feeling inside my chest. For the first time in a while I felt this… and for the second time in a while I cried as I smiled at him before hugging him tightly.

Later on, he slept while I kept on reading the [Book of the Arcanist] that I received as a skill. It was something that helped me learn all the spells and languages even during the last time. This time, it was empty from the start… looks like it is going to take some time to fill it this time. But we got some time, I guess.

"Hey! Is that the village?" the voice of the cab driver snapped me out of my stupor as I finally saw the village in front of me. Reaching that place, I showed him the directions towards the place where our home was.

The cab reached there as I took out some of the cash which Sir Michael gave me in case I wanted to go home and spend some time with my mother. Did he predict this too? Just how far does he see?

Taking the luggage out, both my father and I looked at the wooden house in front of us. Nostalgia filled our eyes as we looked at that house, before a figure came out of the house… an aged lady with long orange hairs, wearing a proper greenish white dress as she looked at us with a sudden smile.

There was happiness in her eyes, while her smile was filled with slight surprise as he dashed towards us and hugged us tightly.

"We are home,"I spoke with a slight pain in my voice as I knew it was about 2 years that we returned to her.

"Welcome home,"she answered with the same bright smile as she hugged us tightly. After separating from us before hugging us for a minute, she looked at me with those eyes filled with tears of joy.

"Walter," she muttered ever so beautifully before turning at father as she added,"Rupert." Father smiled as he answered her,"Hera."

"Let's go in," she chuckled, containing her happiness as I nodded before speaking,"you guys go in. I will bring the luggage with me," and father nodded before she took mother inside the house.

"??!" I suddenly felt a chill down my spine as I turned to the other side, opposite to our house, in the dark alley where I felt a sudden dark energy spiraling out.

My eyes narrowed as I looked there for a brief moment as that energy vanished from there before I could analyze anything.

'Was I hallucinating?' I thought for a brief moment before I concluded that someone was following me and I should pretend not to notice it.

'For now, let's just be careful,' I thought as I took the luggage and went inside the house as I kept my guards up. I thought things would proceed smoothly and I would get some time to spend freely, but it doesn't seem like it is going to be that easy.

'Well, it is better for me this way. I have become more accustomed to this life,' a smile formed on my face as I entered the house as I shouted,"I am back home!!!"

I just wanted to do this for a while, you know?

"Take a bath with your father, son. I will prepare some dinner," the cheerful words of my mother resounded in my ears as I took out my shoes and placed them in the shoe rack.

"Es cerrar you mila: Ivere tuy liea niema(Oh The god of Protection who is known for her mercy: I asked thee for your blessing over this house against all evils and banes you can name of)" I muttered silently as I touched the floor of the house while stepping in.

I used some silver metal that I bought before coming here for this spell. I have a few more things that I can use in case anything goes wrong. With this, at least I can worry less about anything that is going to happen in the future.

With that being done, I entered the bathroom where my father had already started heating up the water. And not long after, my father and I took a proper bath before we went out for dinner.

"Aunty, I am home,"I heard the voice of a child from outside the bathroom door, as mom answered,"Ah! You are back. Come help me set up the table. Walter and Rupert are here," spoke mom answering that kid.

"??" I looked at my father, who was as confused as I was. I wonder who that is… well, not like it matters much. I then changed into casual attire as I got out of the bathroom and dried up my hair while father entered the kitchen where mother was.

Before entering the dining room, I first checked out the garden, which was as beautiful as before. A smile formed on my face as I saw the Red, Blue and White Roses there, signifying the favorites of each member of the family, with red being both for my father and mother.

Soon, I entered the dining room where mom and dad also entered and that kid, who looked no more than 10 years old, was setting up the table.

I stopped for a brief moment as mom observed him and turned to us,"he is the neighbour's kid. He comes here often, helping me with everything he can."

That kid… whose energy levels were… 1000 times beyond what the red demon had, walked towards me with a pure smile as he spoke,"hi, you must be brother Walter… you can call me Belial."
