When the elder said so, the atmosphere turned cold as Alcea could already understand what was going on. She glared at Andre and directed her killing intent to him.
"Wait a minute." Alex suddenly stopped her and went between her and Andre.
"What are you doing now? You have just proven to me there is a traitor, and now you are stopping me? I am not going to kill him first until he gives me all the information I want."
Alex shook his head before looking at the elder. "The reason I did all of this was indeed due to the poison. However, I wouldn't act like this if he didn't provoke me first."
"So, you want to kill him yourself?"
"Nope." Alex shook his head. "There are two traces of poisons on him. The first one is on his hand, so I assume he must be poisoning Sir Millman not long ago."
"Did you do anything with me today, Millman?" Alcea turned around.
Millman thought for a moment before remembering something. "I indeed discussed the entire plan first with him to understand what we needed to do. When I did it, he brought wine, so it wouldn't get too boring. I didn't think at that time, but this one was the most suspicious."
Alcea nodded and turned back to Alex. "And the second one?"
"He—" Alex suddenly heard him start talking and immediately stopped him from saying another word, sticking the handle of his spear in his mouth. "It's in his mouth."
Not daring to take a risky approach with poison, Alcea ordered the elder to remove the poison.
The elder nodded and proceeded carefully before finding the poison bag under his tongue.
Andre turned pale. He never expected that all the plans suddenly went to smoke with the appearance of Alex. He thought by provoking him and making him react a bit unreasonably, the others would pay attention to Alex more than him, so he did it.
To think it wasn't the case, and Alex turned around the situation. After that, he even realized there was a poison bag that he could bite to commit suicide and prevented him from doing so.
"This one is Graten Poison, from a monster called Graten. It seems to have been processed to the point it will burn down the organs or even the entire body itself. Considering the concentration, if one touch this poison after being used, it could melt their hand as well." The elder furrowed his eyebrows before looking at Alex. "May I know how you know there is a poison bag in his mouth?"
"Experience. I often did a mission like this, and eighty percent of it contained a betrayal like this. Well, I can't really say if it was a betrayal or something, but there was always a mole." Alex glanced at Aria, who seemed to understand what he meant. Even when he came to her family, there was a case like this, so she could only sigh. "After checking his pulse and his body, I checked every corner that might contain a poison and found a poison bag under his tongue, so I had been wary of him."
"I see." The elder nodded. "I will get the antidote for Millman first, and I shall place this poison here so as to not make the situation even more complicated."
When the elder left, Alcea looked at him with a serious expression. "Since you are the one solving this incident, I am going to ask this. How do you want to solve this issue?"
"Of course, I will leave it to the Luzear Family." Alex smiled before stepping aside, stretching his hand as if telling Alcea to go ahead and interrogate him.
"You are weird." She narrowed her eyes. "But thank you."
"You're welcome. I am just doing my job." Alex then walked toward Aria and stood by there, watching how the situation would go.
Nella, who just learned all of this, recovered from her shock and stared at Alex for a while before asking her mother. "What should we do with the current mission, Mother?"
"The inheritance is a must. But since they know about our plan, we need to change our plan or make a detour." Alcea nodded before grabbing Andre. "I am going to interrogate him first to get more information. Millman, you stay here, so Elder Po can detoxify the poison. Nella, bring the two to the guest room first. We will hold another meeting tomorrow."
"I understand." Millman bowed and stepped back.
"Yes, Mother." Nella nodded and watched her mother leaving before turning to Alex.
"Haha, young man, you are good!" Millman laughed and patted Alex's back. "I am not a poison expert, so I don't know what kind of poison in my stomach, but without you, I might die tomorrow because of this poison."
"It's nothing. I just love being careful." Alex shook his head.
"Good, good! Careful is nice." He nodded. "There is only one thing that makes me confused. Are you really a 4-Star Martial Saint? Not only have you discovered something like this, but you also succeeded in stopping Madam Alcea. The strength of a God Rank Expert wasn't something that could easily be blocked, you know."
'Of course, it's because Nyx himself is a God Rank Expert.' Aria thought but stayed quiet as to not give any information to them.
"I sensed that Madam hadn't made the resolve to kill us, so if I poured all my energy into my grip, I could stall her for a second. That was why I immediately explained the reason that could stop Madam Alcea." Alex shook his head and humbly answered.
"I see. I would start panicking if I were you. Youngsters these days are indeed extraordinary." He nodded in understanding before feeling a glare coming from another direction. He instantly realized and covered his mouth. "Oops. I have talked too long. For now, we will process this situation first, so you can rest in this place first."
"Then, let me guide you there." Nella immediately opened her mouth, not wanting to get interrupted again.
Alex and Aria exchanged looks and nodded before following Nella.
'Even I can't feel this…' Aria sighed in defeat. 'I mean, my enhanced senses are still weaker than your ability. Is that your innate ability or is it because you are a God Rank Expert you can sense something like that?'
'It's true that when you have a Divine Body, your sense is strengthened. That was why the madam immediately stopped when I pointed at something. Luckily, she had a cool head this whole time, or I will need to use my strength to block any of her attacks. And yeah, experience matters too.'
'I will leave it at that.' She changed the topic. 'By the way, what will happen to this mission now?'
'They will come up with another plan.'
'I know, but won't it make your traps useless?'
'True. But it means there is another chance to overturn the situation. I will see their plan first and make an adjustment there if needed. Of course, I will be negotiating with them.'
'I guess you didn't predict that there would be a culprit in that room.'
'Yeah. It was purely me acting according to the situation. You could even keep up with the situation before I instructed you.'
'Hehe. I believe you are someone who moves if there is something. Seeing you like that, I better trust you instead of them. After all, I know you more than them.'
'You are not afraid that their God Rank Experts will kill you after killing me?'
'Do you have a plan to die?'
'Nope.'
'Exactly.'
'…' Alex was speechless for a second before sighing. 'You little devil.'
'You are younger than me.'
'Fine. Junior Devil.'
Aria smiled.
At the end of the corridor, they saw a thick wooden door, and Nella turned around and said, "This is your room. Before coming in, I would like to give my thanks to you. If you didn't do anything, I would have died tomorrow. And I want to apologize for yelling at you without knowing to understand the context."
Alex saw her bowing her head before helping her up. "It's fine. I can understand your reaction. After all, we are just an outsider in your eyes. Even though we have the introduction letter from Senior Sister Melvie, we are just a mere Junior Disciple."
"Thank you for your understanding." She nodded and opened the door, revealing a huge room with two doors facing each other inside.
"This is a dual room. Miss…Aria can use the room on the left, and Sir Nyx can use the one on our right. The facility is basically the same. If there is something, we will leave the letter on this room, specifically on this table." Nella walked toward the table in the middle of the room.
"Thank you for your hospitality." Alex nodded.
"I wonder if Unsurpassed Blade Sect has many people like you."
Alex didn't answer her. He simply had no answer to that since his knowledge about the sect was shallow.
"That is something you can find after you join the sect in the future." Aria smiled.
"Is that so? Because my element is equal to my technique in spear, I am still considering whether to join Unsurpassed Blade Sect or Thousand Elements Sect." Nella sighed.
Alex fell silent. He always believed there was no right path or wrong path. Lin Xingzhi, Alicia, and Firia mostly used their elements, while he and a few others used their weapons more than elements. Although his path could use both powers together, the focus and fighting style was different, so Alex couldn't really say anything about this.
"The answer lies in your heart. I…No, no one has the answer to your question. They are connected with each other, but they have their own fighting style and compatibility. If you feel that you are more suited to Thousand Elements Sect, then go ahead and choose it. But if you feel otherwise, it's good to join the Unsurpassed Blade Sect. Don't let anyone influence you, and you will be fine." Alex gave his piece of advice.
Nella looked at him in admiration. "Before, others always said that their sects were the best, so I needed to join their sect. Even my mother said I needed to join the Unsurpassed Blade Sect because her friend is there. I don't know why but they are less convincing when I compare them to you.
"Choosing my own path and believing what I want to do. That makes me want to join the Unsurpassed Blade Sect, even though you just said to not let anyone influence me. You are sly, Mister." Nella smiled.
Alex shrugged. "I didn't promote the sect, and you might find it disappointing when you arrived at the sect."
"Hehe…If I have a senior like you, I think it will become interesting. Not only will my future have tense situations like earlier, but I can also have a person to idolize." She smirked and looked at Alex. "Hmm…What is the line again? I have heard it so often when those females idolize disciples from my family. Ah, right. Do you need a wife? I can warm the bed for you."
"…" Alex looked at her, wondering if this girl had a screw loose in her head.
"And there is a case where the other party is a female that has a reputation for having a line of men waiting for her to take their hands. So, I am wondering if I am the one saying that to Mister, what are you going to do?" Nella smiled as if she thought something sly. "Besides, I have often heard the situation in Unsurpassed Blade Sect from my mother, so I know that not many are like you."
Alex shook his head and let out a long sigh.
"Pfft." Aria laughed before teasing him. "Nyx, I love you. I can warm your bed and give birth to a bunch of children."
"I will triple your training in the sect after this. Don't expect you can rest before you collapse." Alex glanced at her with a serious expression.
"…" Aria's body shook as she became tense.
As for Nella, he replied with action. He took off his mask, showing a portion of his burn mark on his face.
"!!!"
