"Rose, they are coming," Alex shouted.
"Yes." Rose nodded. One hundred meters in front of her were one hundred monsters coming toward her. Most of them were 10-Star Martial Monarch or 1-Star Martial Saint, so it shouldn't be that hard for Rose to kill them as long as she caught their guards off.
Rose squinted her eyes, channeling her Spiritual Energy to both bow and arrow. Red light covered the bow while her arrow turned into a purple light. Lightning started to spark before spreading around her body.
"Lightning Butcher."
The arrow flew like a bullet, the shockwave pummeled the ground, and the rubbles kicked up to the air. Yet, that kind of powerful attack suddenly got absorbed into a Spatial Gate that appeared out of nowhere.
"Spatial Gate!"
Rose raised her main hand, influencing the Space Element in the area to create twenty Spatial Gates near the monsters.
*Roar Roar!* The monsters realized this technique, but due to not experiencing anything, they continued their path toward Rose.
A smile appeared on her face as the arrow she released earlier came out of the nearest gate to her, piercing the head of a monster before going inside another gate, only to find it appear on another one. The process repeated.
Alex squinted his eyes and asked. "How much energy did you use?"
Rose looked down first and answered as she tensed up. "Sixty percent?"
"Sixty percent…" Alex frowned. "It's good enough for your level, I guess. You can kill fifty monsters with those sixty percent of your energy, and you only need sixty percent of your Spiritual Energy. You can use the remaining forty percent to escape."
"That…" Rose wanted to explain, but words stuck in her mouth. Just as he said, there were too many flaws in the technique she used earlier.
"It's fine. I just realized it not long ago too, so I will share my experience with you. Or do you choose not to hear it?" Alex glanced at her.
"No… I am ready." Rose shook her head furiously. "Please teach me, Master."
Alex looked at her expression for a second before raising his hand toward the monsters. Soon, many Spatial Gates appeared. Unlike Rose's Spatial Gates that had one-meter in radius, these Spatial Gates were only a few centimeters, just a bit bigger than the arrow itself.
"You have used the most powerful penetrating arrow in your repertoire. If you take confidence that the enemy won't be able to deflect it, you can make your Spatial Gates tiny like that. It takes more concentration, but you can make more Spatial Gates during this process…" Alex began his explanation as the arrows started coming in and out, killing every single monster in their way. However, Alex added another twist to it. Unlike Rose's gates that looked very straightforward to the point, she didn't want to reuse the arrow she had, Alex connected his last Spatial Gate to another one, making it an endless arrow.
"Second, your gates will lose their sustainability in your last gate. In other words, you are simply using the arrow twenty times and just losing the arrow you have used more than half of your energy to release it. Isn't it a waste? Instead of using it that way, you can recycle it, making it infinite. At the same time, you can add a few more arrows, such as a weak arrow to be the bait, another powerful arrow for an additional attack, or a fake arrow to confuse the enemy.
"I know that my Space Element is a bit faster in terms of activation than your Space Element, but that's the best one that the Freedom Sect has. I can't do anything about it. And even if it's not as strong as mine, you can calculate the Spatial Gate itself from its angle and other things.
"This will be your main task for now. Make a single arrow last forever. And with more Spatial Gates in your repertoire, your job shall be easier.
"Lastly, you can throw a few fake Spatial Gates itself. If you can hide one gate behind your back, you can channel Spiritual Energy inside it and let it leak to one or a few Spatial Gates. Yet the true one is the one that doesn't have one. Just make it oblivious, and I believe your opponent will have a hard time to fight you." Alex smiled, finishing his advice with a pat.
The rest of the monsters were obliterated by Alex's Spatial Gates.
"Yes, Master. Rose will certainly improve." She nodded with a serious expression.
Alex couldn't contain his smile. He remembered the first time he met Rose. She was so small back then and innocent. Even though she now had a more developed body and height, Alex still looked at her like a kid he met back then. Even with their height almost the same, he somehow ended up loving patting her head.
Rose didn't really mind since she felt close with Alex this way. Him patting her was like her parents. They loved to do that, so when Alex did this, she felt safe, secured and happy.
"Anyway, take your time to improve. You are still too young."
"No, no. I need to improve myself again so I can catch up with you!" Rose pumped her fist with a smile.
"Improve? Never mind catching up to me, you're enthusiastic enough and ready to beat me."
Rose only revealed even a bigger smile when Alex said that.
Alex then turned to the vast field while patting Rose's head. "We have been going for a few hours and killed almost a thousand monsters. They came from all directions… Luckily, they had their own tribe, so they didn't come in a thousand or more. It made a whole thing easier. And I can focus on training you. I wonder, how are the other battlefields?"
"Ah! I have contacted the spirits stationed in each gate earlier. They…" Anna came to him, starting to explain the condition to him.
In the Lightning Gate, Jean was looking out the entire Divine Kingdom.
"Flood!" Jean summoned a huge amount of water to flood the entire area. It was impossible, but the amount itself could hinder the movement of the monsters. At the same time, his water didn't conduct electricity, so the moment the monsters got trapped inside his water, they only had one option. Die.
The Divine Kingdom destroyed them in an instant. Elizabeth glanced at Jean with an excited expression. 'To think someone that strong is Alexander Sirius's subordinate. It's truly insane. In addition, almost all of his followers are stronger than Alex himself in terms of cultivation base.
'I have gotten so many supports in my kingdom, but that's only because I have strength and wisdom. They fear me and choose to follow me. But Alex… Without his power, I am still sure they will follow him. I wonder what kind of person can do something like that.' Elizabeth was contemplating.
As much as he wanted to understand more about Alex so as to know the reason why he had this kind of relationship, it might be misunderstood by Jean and complicated the whole situation.
'And seeing how he is so loyal to his wives just makes him more charming. Still, I wonder if he is someone like those people? The ones that can say they can abandon a thousand women, so she must accept them as their husband…' Elizabeth closed her eyes before smiling. 'Now that I think about it, I am raising my strength and influence, so no one can control my fate… And the kingdom is just a bonus.
'I simply don't believe that I am just a political tool and need a black sheep to lie to them that I have someone I love. Rather than waiting for it or doing it that way, I am better to wrest my life or sell my soul to the devil to get power.'
That thought put a smile on her face before she shook her head and regained her focus. She found another group of monsters coming, so she prepared to face them.
…
On the other battlefield, specifically Jeanne's battlefield, the Elementless Gate.
Jeanne was laughing while slaughtering the monsters in the middle of their rank.
"Haha! Just die you bastards. I want this to end as quickly as possible!" Jeanne roared.
Song Jiaoren and Song Ling'er exchanged looks and made a weird smile.
Jeanne was the first one in charge of their enemies. They somehow managed to block the enemy's advances with their force, but Jeanne made it far easier.
"Brother… Are you going to be that powerful?"
"Her cultivation is 10-Star, right? The same as grandfather…" Song Jiaoren sighed.
"Yes."
"Then, it's not me who needs to answer that question. You are."
"Me?"
"Yes. You are going to be the next clan head, so I have a great expectation from you. I wonder if you can fight like that?"
"I am not very sure. Her ability is stronger than Grandfather's. At the same time, she also has that technique that turns her to be a beast, giving her more power. So…"
"Anyway, don't lose hope. This big brother will practice as quickly as possible. Maybe, I can visit you again in the future. Even if I can't visit you because of my cultivation, I will still write letters from time to time. That's why I hope you continue working hard." Song Jiaoren patted his sister's shoulders.
"I won't disappoint you." She nodded.
"Alright. Let's return to the battlefield. There are another two hundred monsters coming from our right."
"There is also another one from our left, Brother."
"You grab one hundred people and eradicate those on our right. I will stop the one on our left with fifty people. As soon as you have finished, get over to my position as we will eliminate them together."
"Understood."
The two then returned to their positions.
It seemed the current younger generations were pretty strong as they could handle it better than expected.
Yet, they couldn't be happy because the hardest part came with their target.
After fighting for a few days of fighting, the people started getting exhausted. They had been killing five thousand monsters in the past two days and realized they needed a bit more than two thousand to finally conquer this place.
Alex finally opened his eyes after resting because they had no opponents left. It turned out that the last two thousand monsters were coming together with their parent monsters.
"Master…" Rose called him with a calm expression. She saw a huge mammoth leading the pack of monsters.
Even without his Spirit Eyes, he could see that the mammoth was the strongest because it was the parent monster.
He stood up, thought for a moment, and said. "I have an idea. I and the others will handle the monsters while you take down that mammoth for me."
"Master… Do you think I can? I am still a 10-Star Martial Monarch while that mammoth is a 4-Star Martial Saint."
"Don't worry. Believe your Master. Do everything you can to beat that mammoth." Alex smiled.
"I understand." Rose nodded with a solemn expression and thought. 'Master has placed so much expectation on me, so I can't betray his expectation. I will surely kill that mammoth.'
Anna came to him and sent a thought transmission. 'Alex, are you crazy? Rose can't fight an opponent at that level currently.'
'I know, but I want her to realize her weakness and try to overcome it in this fight. I will step in if the situation turns serious. I promise.'
'Still, it's a bit excessive for Rose to fight that monster.'
'I know, but I fought against a 10-Star Time Element master while I was 6-Star. Our situation was similar, so I wanted her to fight against it. Besides, Rose's Lightning had a ridiculous amount of piercing power, and her footsteps should allow her to avoid the mammoth's attacks. It's not like I am sending her to a suicide mission…' Alex sighed.
Anna paused for a few seconds before she decided to agree. 'Fine. You can do whatever you want. Just make sure that you are not too far away from her, so you can help her at any moment.'
'Sure.'
Alex then turned at the monsters and smiled. 'You are going to be a monster that helps my disciple get stronger.'
