497 Lightning Tribulation Part 2
"Fire Phoenix Art, Second Stage. Phoenix Claw!"
His Phoenix Claw had a different intensity now and the moment he struck his Phoenix Claw, it started melting the lightning sword a little bit, creating a little hole on its body.
Alex's Heaven Breaking Sword continued forward, chopping the lightning sword bit by bit. He continued for a few times until the sword was destroyed entirely.
"!!!" Anya, Sherry, and Stina were alarmed when they saw this. At first, they were shocked by his approach as it was a risky approach, but the thing that shocked them the most was his hand.
Alex already felt their gaze as there was a tingling pain on his hand. He raised his left hand, feeling a bit numb after that attack. His left hand was injured quite a bit, bleeding all over. There was even one spot where his skin was peeled.
Unfortunately, the lightning tribulation did not let him time to recover his injury and sent the ninth strike.
Watching this made Stina tremble as the lightning strike already surpassed the attack he used to create a huge wound on Qeigess. If this lightning struck Qeigess, it would probably make a hole in his body.
"This… Are you sure 10-Star Martial King needs to withstand this!" Stina questioned Heaven, looking up toward the dark cloud.
Anya also had the same opinion, but she speculated the difficulty came from the Golden Lightning itself. She did not know the reason for that Golden Lightning but considering all of them contain an inheritance for him, she speculated it was from the previous Alexander Sirius.
Just like the present Alexander Sirius, the previous him was also a careful person, so she thought because he believed in his future self, he decided to do this. Thinking of that, Anya only prayed for Alex's good fortune. As for Sherry, she already looked down for a few minutes, hoping for his safety.
Alex heard the rumbling and looked up. He already prepared for this ninth strike and felt relieved because he made more than he needed. For this ninth strike, Alex prepared ten Lightning Rod Arrays.
The arrays shone as he activated all of them simultaneously. He created a portal to divide the lightning into ten and sent them to their respective Lighting Rod Array.
The moment he did this, the lightning sword split and struck the ground, making the ground vibrate.
The lightning was sparking around the area, forcing Anya and the others to retreat as to avoid the lightning. On the other hand, Alex utilized his Lightning Rod Arrays skillfully, channeling the lightning bit by bit.
Suddenly, just like having an overload, one of his arrays broke, making a massive explosion.
"Boom!"
Alex instinctively created a Barrier Array to shield him from the explosion. Unexpectedly, the other Lightning Rod Array started breaking, creating a chain of explosions.
"Not good!" He did not mind about the explosion, but if all Lightning Roy broke, he would fail in this ninth strike. To prevent that, Alex immediately created two Lightning Rod Arrays from his own Spiritual Energy, taking a full brunt from the whole lightning strike.
The pressure alone ripped his sleeves, making a few shallow cuts on his hands. Alex felt the pain but did not utter a single scream, so the others would not worry that much.
He could withstand such a pain because he was already accustomed to the Undying Fire Body's refinement. In fact, the pain he felt was like a sting from an ant. Looking back at his past, he would certainly scream in pain no matter how hard he held it.
He did not know if this because he was mature now or he was a masochist now. At least, he was thankful since he knew the pain would not break his focus.
Enduring for another minute, he finally dispersed all the lightning power. He took a glimpse at Anya's and Sherry's expression and apologized inwardly for making them worry. He told Stina to believe in him as he would not die from a thing like this before he met his wives.
Without resting, Alex grabbed the weapons that he threw earlier. He took a deep breath, trying to recover as much as possible.
The lightning started its last transition, changing its color from purple to golden. An eastern dragon head came out of the cloud, looking at Alex. It brought an overbearing pressure just by coming out, making Anya and Sherry fall to their knees.
"Alex (Master)!" They shouted at the same time.
On the other hand, Stina realized the true terror of Alex's lightning tribulation. She remembered when Alex said that Qeigess's lightning was not comparable to his lightning tribulation. What he said was true and if she tried to compare it with Qeigess's lightning, it was the same as comparing a cat with a tiger.
Even Qeigess would be obliterated to ash if he took this lightning, let alone Alex. However, at this very moment, Alex was actually smiling to himself.
"Sh*t. This is really no joke." Alex felt his blood riled up as his Pure Fire burst out of his body. He could spare a portion of his energy in all of his previous lightning tribulations. Yet, facing this lightning strike, if he tried to conserve his energy, he would die.
He used his Spirit Step again, giving him a surge of strength. He shot out another Cross Sword Wave, trying to stop the advance of the lightning.
"Seven Stars Cut."
"Roar!" It let out a roar, making the ground tremble.
The dragon flew down, opening its mouth as it tried to swallow the Seven Stars Cut. Luckily, the Sword Wave was bigger than its mouth and struck its teeth.
The clash between them shook the entire realm, cracking the Extended World Array. He knew his sword wave alone would not be enough to stop its advance and would soon crumble. To help the sword wave, Alex threw a spear while pointing his finger.
"Spear Throwing Art. Spin Throwing!"
"Flame of Extinction.
The dragon finally halted its advance after getting struck by four attacks. Surprisingly when he saw the condition with his Spirit Eyes, he realized his attack had yet to deplete the dragon's energy… no, it could be said that the dragon was supplied constantly by the dark cloud as it only let out half of its body while the other half was inside the dark cloud.
Alex furrowed his eyebrows, wondering if he could do any damage if he stuck at the dragon body.
Knowing it was futile to think, he immediately waved his hand, sending a phoenix toward the body.
"Fire Phoenix Art, First Stage. Phoenix Summon."
*Cry!*
Just like the dragon, the phoenix let out a loud cry before flying toward the dragon body.
"Boom!"
The phoenix exploded as soon it touched the body, enveloping its body with Pure Fire and burning it bit by bit.
Because of this, Alex could see the flow of the energy disturbed a little bit. It impacted on the dragon head as its energy was slowly decreasing because of Alex's attacks.
Alex smiled as he used his Space Element to make a portal.
"Seven Stars Cut."
"Firebirds."
He sent his sword wave to cut the dragon body to stop the energy from flowing. As for his firebirds, it was there to burn the dragon as to make the sword wave's advance easier.
"Boom Boom Boom!"
This series of explosions gave Anya and the others hope, knowing it would end soon.
On the contrary, Alex worried about a different thing from them. He glanced at his barrier that started cracking, knowing it happened because of the energy inside that dark cloud, not from the clash with the dragon. It meant, if he could not end this fight as soon as possible, there was a possibility the special realm would crumble, letting the world witness this.
"Sh*t. That cloud… I never thought it would have this much power…" He sighed. Little did he know, the energy was coming from this world. Because no one ever experienced Lightning Tribulation, the world had accumulated enough energy for this dark cloud. However, because of the limitation, it could only gather enough energy at the level of Stina, the strongest one in the world.
In other words, this fight was between him and Stina. Although the attack was not at the same level as Stina's strongest attack, it was enough to suppress Alex, who was only a 10-Star Martial King.
"..."
After a few more seconds, he saw the dragon finally separated from the cloud. Alex quickly waved his hands, shooting another phoenix to scatter the power.
"Boom!"
Another explosion occurred, dispersing the power of the dragon a bit. With this, Alex swung his weapons simultaneously.
"Heaven Breaking Sword."
"Berserker Strike."
"!!!" Even with only a bit of energy left, the dragon was still unstoppable, creating a huge crater beneath Alex's feet from pressure alone.
His Pure Fire started dancing on his sword as it slowly moved toward the dragon and burned it. Alex smirked.
"Firewave Emission."
He used the versatile technique to burn the dragon while he tried to cut it with his weapons. The dragon started to crack, but because he only paid attention to the dragon, he missed its other half.
After Alex split the dragon into two, the other half slowly came back inside the cloud and sent a terrifying amount of energy to all directions. Of course, this was stopped by the Special Realm, but the realm only had the energy from its surroundings as Alex did not supply it with his Spirit Stones. Because of this, the special realm started cracking before finally crumbling.
"Ha!" At the same time, Alex roared as he used every ounce of his strength, slicing the dragon's head.
"Boom!"
The dragon exploded, bursting out a golden particle to the air. Alex's hand was covered with blood as he spat blood and fell to his knees. Unfortunately, his problem did not end there as he looked up, watching his special realm crumble.
"Sh*t!"
The moment the dragon exploded, the lightning showed a golden flash, revealing a golden sky to the world for a split second.
The phoenixes on the continent suddenly dropped to their knees, watching the event unfold while crying. For an unknown reason, their eyes suddenly felt so itchy, forcing them to close their eyes.
Unbeknownst to them, after around an hour or so, they suddenly opened their eyes, feeling a sudden increase in their strength. There were even some that managed to have a breakthrough.
It was true that the Phoenix Continent was the center of this phenomenon, but all of it could be seen from other continents, including from under the sea.
For those who saw this phenomenon, they experienced the same thing as the phoenixes, albeit the effect was not as powerful as them. Even so, the people still claimed it was God's miracle.
As for the perpetrator of this phenomenon, Alex was not in good condition. He almost used all of his energy and he was injured from all the lightning strikes.
"Alex (Master)!" Anya and the others swiftly leaped toward him, checking his condition. Anya said, "I will heal you."
Alex looked at her fuzzily, shaking his head as it was not the time. Knowing this matter was exposed to the world, he used every bit of his energy to create a Teleportation Array.
Even though two rank 6 Teleportation Arrays were enough to teleport them to the castle, Alex had no energy left. They only managed to cover half of the distance, appearing in a grassy plain.
"I have no time. I need to take it…" Alex could not hold it anymore before falling.
Sherry did not let him touch the ground as she changed to her big fox form, giving him a soft cushion.
"Sister Anya, hop on. I will bring him back while you heal him. I can't watch him like this-wuu." Sherry said.
Anya nodded and leaped toward Sherry's back and Stina immediately led them toward the castle.
