"Do you think she'll get lost?"
Currently, the group had set up camp a little outside of the city.
They were sitting around a small fire and Bekka was roasting some animal she'd hunted for everyone.
The hellhound was cooking to ease her nerves that did not seem to be shared by others in the group.
"Our daughter can take care of herself Bekka."
"That's right she's already an evolved after all."
"Plus she's been trained by you and old man Hajun so I'm sure she'll be fine."
The other wives quickly tried to ease Bekka's worries and it proved to be mildly effective but there was one person she wanted to hear from more than others.
She stared at Exedra who was sitting cross legged with Valerie in his lap.
His eyes were eyes closed and he appeared to be in deep meditation.
Valerie was scribbling something onto a journal while blushing and looking behind her every few seconds to make sure his eyes remained closed.
Suddenly Exedra's eyes flashed open and filled with a complicated light.
'That's… concerning.'
He had just used the abyss spell impending doom for the first time and the effects left him slightly alarmed.
Simply put, impending doom is a spell that shows one their fated death.
In his vision Exedra saw himself being cut down by a human man in bone white armor.
'So this battle will be more significant than I thought… I'll have to be careful.'
He wasn't expecting to run into one of the humans who'd harmed his father so soon but now that he knew he could be prepared.
"Husband!"
"Hm?" Bekka had disturbed Exedra from his thoughts and he looked up to see his beautiful wife looking at him angrily.
"Are you not concerned about our daughter?"
"Why would I be she's right… there?"
The group followed Exedra's gaze to see Mira walking only she was holding the hand of a young girl who looked to be in terrible shape.
"Mira?" Lisa was the first to walk up to her daughter and her new guest. "Who is this?"
She stared hard at the girl she'd retrieved. "Mira doesn't know."
"Well what's her name?"
"She doesn't talk."
Suddenly the group heard the blaring of alarms coming from the city and realized the girl had completed her mission successfully.
"Mira do you mind telling us what happened?" Exedra asked.
The girl nodded and began to retell the heroic story of how she saved this nameless little girl.
In her excitement, she may have exaggerated some of the details a bit but she wanted her family to see how cool she could be!
When her story had been told everyone looked at the silent girl with sympathetic eyes.
"What should we do with her?"
Even though she was older and taller than Mira, the girl hadn't stopped hiding behind her supposed savior since they'd arrived.
"Keep her!" Mira's answer was instantaneous.
Almost immediately, the group had the same idea and turned around to face Exedra.
"Well sweetie.. the fact is your father is a demon king now and humans and demons don't get along very well." Lailah tried to explain as gently as possible.
The mute girl felt her eyes widen when she heard this and she stared at the man with a pretty woman in his lap.
This person was supposed to be a demon lord but he doesn't look all that scary.
Her eyes landed on the large tail swinging leisurely behind the man's back.
While she was still nervous about these new people, she did want to touch that man's tail.
"Before we do anything.." Lailah stood up and walked towards the pair of girls with a warm smile.
"Let's make you feel better okay?" She held out her hand and waited for the mute girl to take it.
After great internal debate, she finally shuffled from behind Mira and gingerly took Lailah's outstretched hand.
Lailah muttered a healing spell and the effect was instantly noticeable.
The girl's arms healed, the bruises on her face and body cleared up and her hair grew.
The group was now able to see a pretty albeit unkempt young girl with long golden blond hair and eyes as blue as a summer sky.
"So pretty!" Mira stared at her new friend with sparkles in her eyes.
The girl was briefly surprised to see that Mira had returned to her original appearance.
Two mismatched eyes that sparkled like gems, one ruby and one amethyst.
Sleek white scales on her cheeks and little hands.
And….
'Tail!'
The mute girl couldn't just run up and touch the handsome man's tail, but surely touching Mira's would be okay right?
Before she knew what was happening, her body was moving on its own and she had grabbed Mira's little white tail.
"Hehe, it tickles!"
The adults watched the two girls play together for a while.
Bekka was of course the weakest to children and even if one was human that didn't change.
"Husband.. what do you want to do with her?"
Exedra didn't answer immediately, a thousand thoughts were swimming around in his mind.
- 4 hours later
The gates to the city of Hado opened and waves upon waves of silver and gold rushed out.
6,000 soldiers in gleaming armor rushed out led by the city lord.
"Where is the army?"
"I thought we were being attacked?"
"I could've stayed at the whorehouse!"
"Was there a mistake?"
No matter how much the army looked around they couldn't find any sign of the supposed demon lords army that they were supposed to be fighting.
Suddenly, seven figures emerged from the forest.
An extremely tall man in a red cloak was being trailed by four women and two children.
One appeared to be holding… a cat?
"Is this all you've brought?! You're looking down on humans too much, demon!" Nicholas was fuming.
That little girl from before had worried him so much that he'd over prepared.
"Ah.." the man suddenly realized something and turned around to face his party.
"You guys aren't fighting." Exedra said without much thought.
"What?!"
ραпdα Йᴏνêl(сòm) "Husband why?!"
"Daddy no!"
"You girls had me sit on the sidelines the last time we fought remember? I'm a bit pent up."
Lisa and Bekka looked dissatisfied with that answer.
How could they just sit and watch their husband fight an army of this size alone?!
Though Bekka's worries were less about her husband and more about her being upset that she'd be missing out on something fun.
"What about me!?" Mira cried with puffed out cheeks.
"You'll have to keep your new friend comfortable until we decide what to do with her."
Mira had seemingly forgotten all about the silent girl that was still holding onto her tail and scratched her cheeks in embarrassment.
"Husband pleaseeee!" Bekka pleaded.
"J-just five minutes then I promise I'll-"
"Lailah."
"Got it."
Lailah instinctively knew what Exedra was asking of her and summoned Apophis to wrap around the blood thirsty hellhound, restraining her.
"You guys suck! This is so unfair!"
Bekka made her displeasure well known as the group of women separated from the tall demon.
"Are you serious? You actually plan to fight us alone?" Nicholas found the present situation to be so absurd he erupted in laughter.
Not just him, the entire human army erupted into fits of laughter.
While they knew demon lords were strong, each of the soldiers were carrying armor and weapons imbued with the essence of a saint.
Not only that, their bodies had been strengthened by saint's tears as well!
Lopping off this demon's head would be as easy as breathing with their numbers!
Nicholas had also checked thoroughly and he could tell the man before him was not an evolved.
'Is he really a demon lord? Isn't he too weak?'
Exedra ignored their obnoxious laughter and unbuttoned his red cloak to let it fall to the ground.
