Evolution From the Big Tree

Chapter 311: The World Museum of Living Fossil

“Support the entire world?” murmuring in his heart, Yu Zi Yu gazed towards the night sky, his eyes flickering non-stop.

Once upon a time, his dream was merely to preserve himself. Now, however, others were pinning hope on him—to support the entire world!

*Haaaa…* Yu Zi Yu heaved a sigh, unsure of what to say.

Faintly, an indescribable complex emotion surged in his heart. Perhaps it was the joy of being others’ hope, or perhaps the phrase ‘support the entire world’ put some weight on him…

In any case, strengthening himself was a necessity. Not only for those beings he sheltered, but more importantly, for himself.

After all, through this battle, Yu Zi Yu had realized that there were too many beings, Humans or beasts, harboring ill-intentions towards him. Perhaps, apart from those beings he sheltered, everyone else might be an enemy to him.

However, at present, they were too weak to dare reveal their ambitions in front of Yu Zi Yu.

But Yu Zi Yu believed that the day, when Humans or Mutant Beasts discovered that they possessed the power to threaten him, they would undoubtedly extend their claws towards him.

No one could resist the temptation of Spirit Treasures. Moreover, as a plant-type Mutant, Yu Zi Yu had already become a Spirit Tree that possessed some properties of Spirit Treasures. His Life Essence could be used for cultivation, and could also accelerate evolution. His roots, branches, and leaves were natural weapons and excellent embryos that, with a little refinement, could transform into divine weapons.

In addition, he could even nurture Elemental Flower…

And his primary root would be the biggest treasure of all, a sweet temptation of every living being.

As Yu Zi Yu’s lifeblood, his primary root was a treasure trove of essence; if… consumed, one might break through straight away.

So, how could Humans or Mutant Beasts resist such temptation?

Even now, Yu Zi Yu, who had never liked killing, couldn’t help but be moved after learning about the Mutant Plant that had gained sentience. Just because every Mutant Plant with sentience could endow him with an entirely new Innate Talent…

Although it was ironic to say this, it was a fact.

And this was the current world of Transcendence—survival of the fittest.

Like the frozen Mutant Octopus in the distance. Its pair of red lantern-like crimson eyes remained calm from the beginning to end; it seemed to be well aware of the outcome.

“Do you want to say anything?” Yu Zi Yu threw a question, but receiving no response from the giant Octopus, Yu Zi Yu also fell silent.

Then, helpless, Yu Zi Yu could only sigh and say, “I’ll give you a swift end soon.”

*Rooaar..* An inexplicable roar suddenly resounded in Yu Zi Yu’s mind, tugging the corner of his lips into a faint smile.

The crude use of psychic power allowed Yu Zi Yu to sense a sense of relief in the giant Octopus’s roar.

[I guess, that’s okay too.] As a Tier-3 Transcendent Overlord, it was the true powerhouse in this world. Even in the depths of the sea, it was an Overlord.

Now, defeated, it may be unwilling, but still accepted its fate. After all, in these past few days, it had sensed how terrifying the towering crystalline Tree, white as snow, rooted in the center of the arctic island was.

It knew that it could definitely not be content with this Willow Tree.

Not to mention it, even the several uncrowned kings in the deep sea might not be able to take on this Willow Tree.

For troublemakers like it who actively provoked, death was the only way. It held no resentment nor regret, but it would never submit.

Entities of advancing to Tier-3 could not just be judged by talent; Transcendents like it also possessed extremely firm wills.

Unfortunately, lacking cultural inheritance, or rather, never having been influenced by Human culture, they find it challenging to develop their own racial culture from scratch. Whether it was the language part or intelligence part, both were challenging to them.

Almost every powerful Mutant Sea Creature experienced joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness but found it difficult to express them. Most of the time, they unleash their destructive desires through violent destruction.

Like now, even if this giant Octopus wanted to say something, it could not.

Not that it did not want to speak, but it was challenging to express.

This was also the most pitiful aspect of Mutant Sea Creatures.

Even if they possessed intelligence, in the eyes of Humans, they were still a group of beasts, rough and brutish. If it were not for their terrifying power, Humans would not really fear the open waters.

Compared to Mutant Sea Creatures, terrestrial Mutant Beasts were more or less influenced by Human culture.

In places like Misty Mountains where Yu Zi Yu resided, most Transcendent Mutant Beast could communicate normally with Humans. This was one of the reasons why the threat level of Misty Mountains had risen to such a high level in the hearts of Chinese people.

Strength alone was not terrifying, but when strength came together with mature culture and the development of a social system, it was not as simple as being terrifying.

Nonetheless, even if the Chinese government knew about this, they could do nothing about it.

The Dark Day and the massive earthquake caused by Yu Zi Yu were no jokes. The terror of the Tree Monster had long gripped the hearts of high-ranking officials of China with fear. Unless they had absolute certainty, they would definitely suppress certain thoughts.

This was no longer a matter concerning one or two individuals. If they antagonized the Tree Monster, the entire China would likely have to face enormous trouble.

At this point, there was another continent that should be mentioned, known as ‘unknown southern land,’ Australia.

Australia was a large nation spanning over the entire continent, surrounded by the sea on all sides. Compared to other countries, which were defending themselves against all sorts of Mutant Beasts and even Mutant Sea Creatures, this paradise was quite unfortunate.

Because this country has always been hailed as the ‘World Living Fossil Museum.’

And what did that mean? Or rather, what did it signify in this Era of Transcendence?

Terror, pure terror.

One strange beast after another kept emerging, impacting the entire Australia. What was even more deadly was that this large nation had three types of Mutant Beasts that had fully developed, even forming their own culture.

One was the Mutant Sheep. As a country once hailed as the ‘nation riding on the back of sheep,’ it was now reaping the consequences.

Some people have even witnessed humanoid Sheeps with tall horns walking upright among the ruins.

The second was the Mutant Rabbit. Once harmless, after mutation, their overwhelming numbers had turned them into a disaster, assaulting countless cities of Australia.

But they were still not the most terrifying.

The most terrifying was the Mutant Kangaroo, a Mutant Beast born for battle. It was a very frightening Mutant Beast.

Even without mutation, Kangaroos could jump up to four meters high and cover a distance of up to thirteen meters. One could imagine how terrifying they had become after mutation.
