Chapter 528 - Troublemakers (2)

The three had an enjoyable evening. The food was devoured as swiftly as it had been delivered to them. Then they watched a movie on the couch with their father, enjoying the night with him, momentarily forgetting what happened earlier and how they missed their mother.

Laughter bubbled from the couch as the two little buns sat around a bowl of popcorn as they watched on. Once the movie was over, Feng Tianyi wiped the table to clean their mess.

"Go to sleep now." He glanced at the clock and saw that it hit nine already. "You've been up an hour past your bedtime again. It's time for the two of you to get ready for bed."

"But Daddy…" Little Star w.h.i.n.ed. She wasn't tired yet and not ready to go to sleep.

"Daddy, can we please stay up a little longer?" Xiao Bao asked.

"No." Feng Tianyi forced himself to be firm this time. "I cannot spoil the two of you all the time or else Mommy would be mad at me. You think you are the only one who's afraid of her?"

"But—"

"What if I let you sleep in our bed tonight?" The devil had no choice but to use another tactic. "I'm kinda sad sleeping alone at night without your mommy."

"Really?!" The little buns's smiles widened with glee at the thought of having a sleepover with their daddy. It's been a while since they slept together, so they were really excited.

"Sure!" Feng Tianyi smiled. "But just for tonight, okay?"

"Okay!" The twins said in unison. They really had the best Daddy and Mommy in the world! There was no way in hell they'll believe that their parents were the bad guys like those rude, mean kids were telling them.

Feng Tianyi allowed the twins to be taken by their nursemaid to get cleaned up before going to bed. The twins didn't give their nannies a hard time and allowed them to give them a bath and finished their entire glass of milk before going upstairs to find their daddy.

The twins found him in the study he shared with their mommy, reading more papers that were stacked neatly on top of the desk.

"Daddy?" Little Star called out, pulling the attention of her father towards her. They were now dressed in pajamas, ready to retire for the night.

"Hmm? What is it?" Feng Tianyi said, not moving his eyes from the doc.u.ment he'd taken home with him that night.

"You aren't going to tell Mommy what happened, right? Yu Gege didn't mean to start a fight." Little Star said in a low voice, her eyes looking at her father worriedly.

Feng Tianyi sighed and gestured to his twins to come to him. He allowed Little Star to crawl up on his l.a.p while Xiao Bao stood stiffly next to his chair.

"Mommy would eventually know even if I don't say anything, but I have to explain to her what happened and why you did it." He shuffled Xiao Bao's head, who was now frowning over the thought that his mommy would be upset because of him again.

He didn't want him and Little Star to be transferred to another school. It had been hard for him and Little Star to get used to their current kindergarten and didn't want to do it all over again just because he got involved in another fight.

Feng Tianyi led the twins to the master bedroom and allowed them to bounce on the massive bed and watched them argue which side of the bed they were going to sleep in. Then they slipped under the warm blankets and called Feng Tianyi to join them.

Feng Tianyi laid on the bed with them and gently adjusted the quilt over them.

"You know, Daddy is still curious why your Uncle Yan said you hit another kid, Baobao. Is there something you want to tell me?" He murmured, paying close attention to his twins' reaction.

Xiao Bao frowned while Little Star pursed her lips, but didn't say anything in her brother's stead. She would allow his twin brother to explain himself this time.

"I'm sorry, Daddy." Xiao Bao swallowed and cast his father a worried look. "I know what I did was a bad thing, but that kid started bad-mouthing Mommy and called Little Star a liar for telling them that you are our daddy. The other kids won't believe us when we said we have a mommy and daddy, but they insisted it's not possible because Mommy is a horrible person."

Feng Tianyi's brows shot up listening to his son's explanation. Just what kind of parents did those children have to get a false impression on Tang Moyu?

"Do you believe them?"

"Of course not, Daddy!" Xiao Bao scowled. "They said Mommy is bad because she turned her back on her family, but Mommy must have a reason for doing that! Mommy told us that we shouldn't easily believe what people say about one another because people who say bad things...sometimes it reflects what kind of person they truly are."

Feng Tianyi smiled at the thought that even though the two have him as their father now, he could still see that the little buns adored their mother so much. He also had to give Tang Moyu credit for trying her best to raise their children properly on her own. Being a single parent was hard and there was no doubt that she'd suffered enough in the past.

"I see. You are right. Mommy has a valid reason why she did what she did. If people started to be mean to you, saying mean words when you have done nothing to them, what would you feel?" He asked the twins.

"We will be sad…" Little Star mumbled.

"And upset. But why would they say that?" Xiao Bao asked. A.d.u.l.ts were really troublesome people in his opinion. They always make things complicated.

Feng Tianyi shrugged.

"Because some people are just like that. Your Mommy's family… well, they were very mean to her. Guess she had enough of it."
