Chapter 1171 Hard

Translator: podao001

Using the Soul Demise Bow, Chen Feng fired 108 arrows of light consecutively to leave 108 bloody wounds on the variant wyrm’s body. Only then did he stop. By then, the badly wounded variant wyrm had been tied up with chains.

After resting for a moment, Chen Feng recovered all his strength. Then, he pulled the bowstring again.

“Hold!” the variant wyrm finally spoke up, a trembling note of fear within his voice.

Chen Feng ignored him and fired anyways. This time, the arrow he formed was a notch stronger than the previous ones. This proved that Chen Feng had gained a greater control over the Soul Demise Bow. And so, the already badly-wounded variant wyrm gained another bloody hole on his body.

“Mercy!”

The variant wyrm began begging for mercy, but Chen Feng instead became unhappy. Such a good shooting target was not easy to find.

Sou! Sou! Sou!

Three more beams of light flashed out and the variant wyrm nearly fainted as a result.

“Is this fellow a maniac?” Duan Shuiliu and Qing Shan felt a chill running down their spines. On the other side, the space-time extra-terrestrial creature had gathered up some of his power and he burned them, hoping that it would help him escape this place.

“Are you begging for mercy here?” Chen Feng asked, firing another arrow which nearly blew up the variant wyrm’s tail.

“Yes! I’m begging for mercy!” the variant wyrm hastily said.

“So, does that mean you are willing to become my follower? Or do you want to be a slave?” Chen Feng chuckled.

“I am willing to be your follower! Young Master!” The variant wyrm merely hesitated for a moment before agreeing.

Nodding, Chen Feng then kept the Soul Demise Bow only for the Six Daos XXX to appear instead. Next, the space-time extra-terrestrial creature who was working on breaking out of the chains watched as the Six Daos XXX flew towards him. He did not even have the chance to shriek before blood splattered out and half his body disappeared. In but one move, he was left in a dear-death state.

“Don’t kill me! Young Master, I am willing to be your follower!” the space-time extra-terrestrial creature swiftly shouted.

“Earlier, four Gold Immortals wanted to be my followers. Even then, I did not want them. You two are lucky that you can get to be my followers,” Chen Feng said, utilizing the Soul Shackling Technique to bind their life imprints. With that, the lives of both the variant wyrm and the space-time extra-terrestrial creature came under Chen Feng’s control. He could decide whether they lived or died with but a thought.

“Be sure to perform well. I am very generous towards my subordinates.” After saying that, Chen Feng simply headed to the side to close his eyes and rest. At the same time, the chains binding the variant wyrm and space-time extra-terrestrial creature fell off before disappearing. Due to the serious injuries on their bodies, they swiftly huddled in a corner to heal themselves. And while a ferocious light remained glinting within their eyes, they dared not even look at Chen Feng.

On the other side, Qing Shan and Duan Shuiliu had recollected themselves. Only, they did not know what to do now. Since they were done with the palace halls, they should leave this place. However, leaving was likely not going to be easy.

“Brother Chen.” Drumming up his courage, Qing Shan then stepped forward.

“I also do not know how to leave. Perhaps, after spending some time cultivating, I might be able to figure it out.” Chen Feng was telling the truth. Before he was done absorbing the fragments of primary spirits belonging to the Gold Immortals, he would not know how to leave.

Qing Shan and Duan Shuiliu shook their heads before splitting up to find a way to leave. Staying here with Chen Feng was giving them a suffocating feeling.

Chen Feng ignored them. There were many things he had to do and little time to waste.

...

The Six Daos Sword Faction...

Dao Monarch Heavensdao and the others had gathered up. Unlike in the past, this time, there were two more half-step Gold Immortals there.

These two half-step Gold Immortals had only just recently advanced to this level. For the Six Daos Sword Faction, this was a highly joyous occasion, something that they have not had in a long time. Naturally, these two were only able to advance to the half-step Gold Immortal stage in advance thanks to the treasures they obtained inside the Graveyard of the Divine Dragons.

By their estimate, the Six Daos Sword Faction would likely have one or two more new half-step Gold Immortals in the next few centuries.

Of course, they were not gathered here to celebrate the new half-step Gold Immortals. Rather, it was to discuss a very grave matter. Due to that, the atmosphere there felt somewhat solemn.

“And that’s how things are. Everyone, speak your thoughts on this.” Dao Monarch Heavensdao looked at all the half-step Gold Immortals there.

Naturally, those with the authority to speak up were still Dao Monarch Secularism and the other five. The two new half-step Gold Immortals were still very reserved.

“Truth is, regardless of how many people have died there, what I am concerned about is, what are the consequences of our Six Daos Sword Faction taking part in this?” Dao Monarch Secularism said.

“Our Six Daos Sword Faction became involved the moment Chen Feng disappeared. More, it is the kind of involvement that cannot be severed,” Dao Monarch Hell was quick to say.

“I agree. I’ll say it again, if Chen Feng can return, then all will be well. But if he does not return, our Six Daos Sword Faction will be destroyed,” Dao Monarch Hungry Ghost said.

“What we are discussing right now is whether or not we should dispatch our forces out. Tun Ri and the others will not be able to hold on for much longer,” Dao Monarch Secularism emphasized.

“Honestly, our Six Daos Sword Faction is facing considerable troubles as well. What we need the most now is time,” Dao Monarch Animal said.

“No matter how much time we need, there simply isn’t any. The Starsource Order will never allow us to grow stronger. For this reason, I agree with betting our hopes on Chen Feng,” Dao Monarch Asura said with a grim expression as he waved his hand.

“I think so too. Let’s take a gamble on Chen Feng,” Dao Monarch Hell said.

“What about the others? What are your opinions on this?” Dao Monarch Heavensdao turned to look at the others.

“You two as well. Tell us what you think.” Next, Dao Monarch Heavensdao pointed at the two new half-step Gold Immortals, Dao Monarch Heavensriver and Dao Monarch Sovereign Fire.

Dao Monarch Heavensriver was something of an old man in the Six Daos Sword Faction. When compared to some geniuses, he was not particularly outstanding. If it weren’t for the fact that he managed to come across great serendipity within the Graveyard of Divine Dragons, he would likely had been incapable of making it into the half-step Gold Immortal stage, ever. Hearing the question, he then pondered carefully before saying, “Since the discovery of the Graveyard of Divine Dragons, our Six Daos Sword Faction has lost a sizable number of territories. As of now, the number of territories we hold is less than a third of what we had before. As for the casualties our sect has sustained so far, we will likely require over 10,000 years before we can replenish our numbers. However, the other forces will definitely not give us the time for it. The Celestial Longevity Plane is an existence that surpasses the Immortal Plane. If we can form a connection with it, it will prove very beneficial to our future growth.”

“I think so too. Better to risk it than to die a slow death.” Dao Monarch Sovereign Fire nodded.

“It’s been some time since I’ve had some action myself. My whole body’s itching now,” Dao Monarch Hungry Ghost said with a smile.

“If that’s the case, we’ll leave half our forces to defend the sect while the rest lead our disciples to battle!” Dao Monarch Heavensdao slammed his palm onto the table.

...

“Tun Ri, do you have any more Blazing Suns?” Da Feng asked, his whole body drenched with blood.

“I have one more. I want to save this to kill off a half-step Gold Immortal. What about you? Can you still use your lifebound feathers?”

“No. All the energy I stockpiled throughout the years have been exhausted. The situation is really bad. Sha Xian was intercepted. I didn’t think that the other party would gather up so many men. They are clearly trying to defeat us all in one fell swoop,” Da Feng said with a bitter smile.

“Even now, there is still no response from Tian Wu. I wonder how he’s doing? Also, I just received news. Two small teams who came as reinforcements have gone missing.” Brightmoon walked over, power surging out from her whole body as she worked on recovering her severed arm.

Their group was presently besieged, trapped within a valley. If it weren’t for the many layers of restrictive and killing arrays, their enemies would have charged in to wipe them out long ago. That said, enemy cultivators would constantly break their way in. There was no telling how long the arrays would last.

Those staying within the valley were all the wounded ones. Those who could still fight would go forward to battle the enemies outside.

“A pity. Say, do you guys think I will be able to last until the Young Master returns?” asked a young man with an extremely pale face.

“Xuan Feng, enough nonsense. The Young Master will surely be fine. And nothing will happen to us as well,” Da Feng was quick to say.

“But too many people have died,” Xuan Feng said with a wry smile.

“This is but a small number. In the war back then, our Boundless Corps lost over ten thousand men!” Tun Ri shouted.

“This is different. The ones who came out to search for the Young Master this time are all the elites. Our corps is already having a bit of a tight situation to begin with. I fear that chaos will ensue.”

“As long as the Young Master can safely return, any number of casualties is worth it!”

Boom!

Space shook and a passageway blasted open. Next, Tian Wu, holding onto a cultivator, fell to the ground.

“Tian Wu, are you fine? What happened to Hei Feng?” Da Feng swiftly charged forward.

“He’s dead,” Tian Wu replied blankly. The cultivator that he was holding on no longer had any life force in him. Although there was no visible wound on his body, his whole body had turned black.

“Someone invited over Demon Monarch Myriad Poisons, I was nearly incapable of returning myself.” After saying that, Tian Wu opened his mouth to exhale a breath of black air. It appeared as though there were countless creatures biting and tearing within the breath of black air. Hanging in mid-air, the black air condensed to form a snake, desirous of flying away only for the stream of flames that Da Feng fired out to utterly incinerate it.

Tian Wu was an extra-terrestrial creature, born with the innate gift of poison as well. That was how he could unravel the poison that had invaded his body.

“The Celestial Malla Plane! The Mal’Yama Tribe’s Demon Monarch Myriad Poisons! That guy’s a half-step Gold Immortal. Looks like someone spent a hefty fortune for this. Tian Wu, you sure are something else to be able to make it back alive,” Tun Ri said in surprise.

“Call everyone back. Demon Monarch Myriad Poison’s Demonic Art of Myriad Poisons can even give a Gold Immortal a headache!” Da Feng said sternly.

“I’m the only one who survived,” Tian Wu said.

“I’ll go summon the others to return here!” Brightmoon swiftly left.

“Ke ke ke ke ke ke! To think that the great cultivators from the Longevity Clan would hide in this minor place. Are you fellows too afraid to reveal yourselves?” A ghastly cry found its way over. Next, soundwaves with a wicked quality swept forward, giving everyone there goose bumps.

“A Night Peddler!”

“There’s more than one. There is the aura of the Celestial Longevity Plane from the other party. I wonder, which fellow from the Longevity Clan raised these fellows?” said Da Feng, whose expression flickered.

“That person is most likely a member of the imperial family. Everyone, careful! These damned creatures are not easy to deal with.” After saying that, Tun Ri roared and fired out a soundwave attack at the source of the soundwave earlier.

Note: I made a mistake in Chapter 1153 and translated Dao Monarch Hungry Ghost as Dao Monarch Wicked Ghost. It’s been corrected. Sorry for any confusion.

Also, a reminder that Tian Wu’s name (天蜈 , pinyin: ‘tiān wú’) can be roughly translated as ‘Heavenly Centipede’.
