"It is always better than being a heathen like you!" The moment the room was filled with the scream of the assailant's leader, he instantly rushed at Callius with his sword raised.

/SWOOSH/

However, Callius, of course, was ready for the attack from the moment they had entered. Instantly blasting the man off with his spell, he increased the distance once more, not letting the man do as he pleased.

"This bastard is really talented." The leader mumbled as he stopped in his tracks. As a person that witnessed the magical fire display of Callius at the duel, he knew Callius was not someone to be underestimated. "However, you won't stand for too long." He mumbled as his crew instantly came beside him.

The room crackled with tension as Callius found himself surrounded by five assailants.

'Two mages, one with water affinity and the other with earth.' He thought, instantly seeing the status window of others with his All-Seeing Eye. 'The other three are all 4-star knights. It seems seniors are here. As he saw the ages of others, he thought.

It was blatantly obvious why they were here. They had come with a singular purpose: to overpower and defeat Callius.

As nature goes, no matter how strong one is, the numbers are absolute when it comes to those things.

Barely after two seconds had passed, the leader spoke, calling out his crew.

"Begin." As his voice echoed, the other four instantly took action.

The water mage, with a flick of their wrist, summoned a torrent of water that surged toward Callius. Sensing the imminent threat, Callius drew upon his mastery of fire magic, even if limited. He conjured a wall of flames, its intense heat evaporating the oncoming deluge, transforming it into a cloud of steam.

As the steam dissipated, the earth mage seized the opportunity, manipulating the ground beneath Callius' feet to rise in sharp, jagged spikes. Callius swiftly reacted, unleashing streams of scorching fire from his palms, melting the spikes before they could reach him. But he used quite a lot of mana in the process, as in order to match the strength of the mage's spell, he needed to spend a lot.

The three knights, armed with their swords, closed in, their movements coordinated and precise. Callius weaved through their strikes, his body agile and nimble. He retaliated with bursts of searing flames, forcing the knights to retreat momentarily, showcasing how proficient he was at close combat.

"This bastard, he is like a squid." One of the members spoke as he sprouted hateful words. "He is." The others agreed as they were rather relaxed.

The water mage, undeterred, summoned swirling currents that crashed toward Callius. He fought back, creating a blazing inferno that engulfed the water, turning it into a harmless vapor. The earth mage, seeing an opportunity, called forth towering stone pillars to trap Callius within a rocky prison. In a way, the way they had fought while covering themselves was enough to show that they were rather proficient in such cases, supporting the idea that they were seniors.

"I refuse to bow down." But Callius, refusing to be confined, summoned flames of immense intensity. The fire surged around him, disintegrating the stone pillars and freeing him from his confinement. With renewed determination, he focused his fire magic, shaping it into fiery projectiles that he hurled at his assailants.

The water mage countered, conjuring a massive wave to crash down upon Callius. Sensing the impending danger, Callius tapped into his fiery essence, creating a searing shield of flames that repelled the onslaught, reducing the wave to mist.

The battle intensified, the clash of elements creating a chaotic display of power. Callius unleashed torrents of scorching fire, engulfing his adversaries in a relentless assault. But the combined might of the water and earth magic proved formidable as the mages extinguished the flames and the knights pressed their advantage.

In the end, they were rather playing for the effective way of fighting, not giving the opportunity to strike at Callius at all, making him all defensive. That is what one was being taught at the academy, though it was also obvious that they were talented.

Gradually, the assailants' relentless attacks wore down Callius. His magical energy waned, his flames flickering weaker with each passing moment. The water mage seized the opportunity, encasing Callius in a freezing prison of ice while the earth mage reinforced it with sturdy rock formations.

In the end, it took only five minutes to take Callius down, thanks to the splendid power and teamwork they had displayed in front of him.

At this point, knowing that he had no power inside him anymore, Callius waited for the events to unfold.

"Now you will repent your sins," the leader's voice reverberated through the room, laced with sadistic satisfaction and an air of superiority. The knights took a moment to relish in their triumph, their faces contorted with smugness and contempt.

/SMASH/

As Callius lay restrained, vulnerable, and unable to defend himself, the leader's fist suddenly connected with his beautiful face, the impact sending a shockwave of pain through his body. Blood trickled from his broken nose, and a gasp escaped his lips as he struggled to regain his composure.

The strength of the fist was no joke, as the leader was a 5-star knight.

"Pathetic," the leader sneered, relishing in the sight of Callus' agony. "Did you think you were going to live your life normally after committing such sin?"

With a wicked grin, the knights surrounding Callius joined in, each delivering a merciless blow or a cruel kick. Their combined assault is merciless and unrelenting as they speak their words of abuse by throwing insults at his mother while beating him.

Of course, pain coursed through Callius' body.

Contrary to expectations, a sense of eerie calmness washed over Callius as he stared at his assailants with unsettling tranquility in his eyes. Blood stained his once pristine and beautiful face, creating a stark contrast against his unwavering gaze.

As the assailants momentarily paused their assault, catching their breath and relishing in their perceived victory, Callius slowly raised his head, defying the pain that pulsed through his body.

The crimson eyes that fixated upon the assailants with disdain suddenly flickered with an unsettling glow. Callius bloodied mouth curled into a wicked grin, sending shivers down the spines of those who dared to challenge him.

"What's so amusing?" the leader demanded, confusion etched across his face.

"It is funny that you are still standing on the same ground as me." As he spoke those words, the smile on his face reached his ears.

Before the assailants could comprehend his words, a surge of raw energy coursed through Callius' body; the very air crackled with anticipation as his form began to shimmer and distort. Reality itself seemed to twist and contort around him, a prelude to the impending chaos.

"Booom…."

/BOOM/

As with this last word, Callius' body exploded as the cataclysmic raw power of fire spread across the room.

I will post another two or three chapters tomorrow. Sadly, now I need to sleep.....

Hope you liked the chapters, though. This time, I didn't want to give too many details of the fight, or it would become repetitive.
