--- Chapter 236 ---

Overturning Mountain Peak.

Atop a snowy mountain peak, a hut stood peacefully.

Two beauties sat opposite each other.

Cai Lin smiled while drinking her tea, gazing at the open window with a very calm expression.

On the other hand, Yun Yun wasn't so calm. After entering the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe and obtaining the Heaven Demon Phoenix's bloodline, many things have changed about her.

Appearance aside, Yun Yun's heart can never be calm after not seeing Baek Ain for so long, and getting Heaven Demon Phoenix's bloodline enhanced that obsession even further.

Cai Lin promised she could meet Baek Ain soon, but that was already months ago.

"Soon, how soon are we talking?" Yun Yun didn't like Cai Lin's answer earlier.

Cai Lin chuckled, "Calm down, Sister Yun."

"I know you're a bit angry because I broke the promise, but I can do nothing about it. Ain suddenly went to the upper realm, and I can't possibly prevent that when I'm here with you."

"Not to mention..."

"The ambush plan for the Hall of Souls laid down by the three Ancient Clans, Pill Tower, Behemoth Paradise, and others failed miserably."

"As the Queen of Ain's harem, this is unacceptable." Her voice turned icy with killing intent.

Yun Yun gritted her teeth and grabbed the teacup on the table, drinking it to ease her nerves. At this point, there is no point in getting mad.

She sighed and said, "Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe and Wind Lightning Pavilions are ready to support Ain. I already get control of the elders."

"Good, I know you can do it." Cai Lin smiled mysteriously.

"What about your little disciple, Yanran? She stumbled upon a secret realm and got an inheritance there, am I right?"

Yun Yun's expression changed, "Your ability to see the future is terrifying as always."

"Seeing is not the right notion." Cai Lin shook her head gently.

"Reading is more appropriate."

"After all, the former is more prone to make mistakes out of many possibilities."

"You know the saying of reading people like a book. That's what I am doing to you right now."

"Eyes are the mirror to heart." Yun Yun stared at Cai Lin.

"Exactly." Cai Lin nodded calmly.

"So, will you tell me about Yanran's inheritance?"

Yun Yun finished her tea and poured one more for herself, "I will. There is no point hiding it from you anyway."

"Yanran wandered around the Demonic Region for a few weeks, searching for the Demonic White Lotus for her breakthrough. Luckily, she stumbled upon a secret realm hidden by a wall of lava."

"At the time, she was chased by Rank 6 Magical Beasts."

"Gutsy." Cai Lin commented lightly.

"And then?"

"At first..." Yun Yun continued. "Yanran contacted me and then checked the secret realm, finding a Small World filled with lush jungle and swamp terrain."

"There is no real danger because she was an early Dou Ancestor, so she kept walking and walking until she found a Half-Saint Legacy."

"Not a bad legacy, to be honest. Some of the things Yanran got there are better than what Wind Lightning Pavilion could provide."

"Right now, she has used the resources and is currently in seclusion to reach the peak of Dou Ancestor."

"If she gets lucky again, she could enter Dou Venerate Realm in one swoop." After saying this, Yun Yun peeked at Cai Lin, seeing her smug face plastered with a broad smile.

Tch, Yun Yun knew she got caught by this sly snake.

Cai Lin covered her mouth and giggled, "Like I said."

"I've read you like a book."

"You usually won't visit me unless there is something you want."

"Ain aside, you only have one person you care for, and that's your disciple, Nalan Yanran."

"If you want to know if she could be lucky, then the answer is no."

Yun Yun frowned immediately.

"Don't make such a scary face. Even though I said no, I never said Yanran Girl would fail. Don't you believe in your disciple's determination? Believe that she can overcome this little wall." Cai Lin quickly added to appease Yun Yun's frown.

"Sure..." Yun Yun's frown eased slightly.

"You said eyes are a mirror to one's heart."

"But I can't read you at all, Medusa."

Cai Lin laid her head on the table lazily, "Come on, my husband has named Cai Lin. It's rude to call me that, though I like it."

"As for why you can't read my heart, your skill is still too low."

The unfriendly woman pouted at Cai Lin's answer, and the Queen of Snake giggled because this aloof woman was ditzy and adorable.

No wonder Ain likes her.

"Still, why didn't you help those girls?" She suddenly uttered, which caused Cai Lin to raise her brows in surprise.

'Did she throw shade on me? That's new.' Cai Lin thought to herself.

Cai Lin shook her head again, "I know the plan will fail from the start."

"You know?"

"Yes."

"And you didn't bother to tell them about it?"

Faced with this question, Cai Lin sighed and responded solemnly, "Ain's woman shouldn't be a decoration! They are his harem members, yes. Yet they shouldn't rely on him too much."

"I want to give them a taste of defeat."

"I want to give them a taste of reality when Ain wasn't around."

"It's not all sunshine and rainbows." She gazed at Yun Yun calmly.

"I've already told you about my vision of how Ain got pulled by invisible hands and vanished from this world. That event is unchanged, and no amount of power we put can't change it."

"Do you know what happens next?"

"Don't tell me..." Yun Yun's lips trembled.

"Yes, we died, miserably at that." Cai Lin closed her eyes.

"Without a pillar of support, Ain, we started losing hope and descended to madness."

"That's why I didn't stop. I wanted my sisters to grow stronger."

"Mentally, physically, and spiritually."

"We can't have too much blind faith, or it would bite us back!"

Yun Yun clenched her hands, "What happened after our death?"

"Did this world just disappear...?"

"No. Dou Qi Continent becomes a barren land filled with curses due to the Hall of Souls' rituals." Cai Lin stared at the open window.

"But one day."

"Ain returned to this world."

"He had a bright smile on his handsome face, expecting us to be here for him."

"Unfortunately..."

"That day, Ain became an emotionless shell of his former self, a being that makes my heart broken to pieces just by looking at it." Cai Lin complained in her heart because she couldn't tell Ain about this part of her vision.

"He becomes a puppet, a tool to destroy all creations."

"You can't imagine the despair and anguish I had to experience..."

"I..." Yun Yun sighed in helplessness.

Cai Lin finished her cold tea and added, "Stopping the Hall of Souls isn't that hard. We only have to find a key to their strength, the Hun Clan and Nihility Devouring Flame."

"We got the former, and some new paths opened for us."

"If we get the latter... We can change the future."

"That's why Yun Yun, we should do this together."

"I know you can understand me because you love Ain as much as I do."

"Will you follow my plan now?"

"I thought we had been following your plan all this time?" Yun Yun was confused.

Cai Lin giggled, "As expected, you're adorable."

"No, what we have done so far is just pre-planning my true motive."

"The real plan begins now."

'No one should touch and hurt my husband.' Cai Lin's crimson eyes dimmed with extreme coldness.

'Not even GODS!'
