Chapter 231: Changes
"Separate them into ten people in each cubicle," said Captain Hu as he instructed the police officer what to do. Their concern was not about which cubicle used to put the gangsters but whether there was enough space for two hundred gangsters.
As for Hei Mang and Sha-Guang, they had their hands cuffed and forced to sit right opposite one another.
"How pitiful are you… To get caught after taking two hits from that officer. Do you know him?" Sha-Guang laughed at Hei Mang. The scene where Hei Mang was taken out in two hits still surprised him. At least from what he knows, only his eldest brother is capable of doing so.
Although the Black Ironhead Gang is not as organized as the Xuanwu Gang, they still have their own connections regarding how to get the medicinal supplement that was issued to the soldiers. But seeing Zhang Qin Feng's strength today, it was far more than what he had expected.
Up to date, part of the reason these gang members dare to make such a noise openly was that they knew the Tianhe Special Squadron had limited manpower to deal with them. But that doesn't seem to be the case right now.
"Laughing at me, baldie? Didn't you get yourself captured as well? How many punches did it take to get you locked here with me? Hahaha…" Hei Mang laughed. He tried to struggle against the handcuff, but the durability was more than what he expected.
Soon, the door into the room is opened. Captain Hu came into the room and sat on the third chair provided in the room.
"Turf war, huh? Did you think that the Shuiyue City is your backyard or something? Trying to play a war game in the Tianhe Special Squadron's territory, have the head of you two get muddled by dirt and dust after not getting caught for too long?" Captain Hu said.
To him, Sha-Guang was just a nobody with some good fighting ability. But Hei Mang was an entirely different matter. This person used to be a part of Tianhe Special Squadron and was one of the squad leaders until he followed Wang Wu and quit the army.
"What answer do you want, captain? Did you get replaced or something? I thought that greenhorn will be the one to interview us instead of you." Sha-Guang laughed after replying to Captain Hu.
"You. Did following Wang Wu turn you into some random thugs that fought without looking at your surroundings? Is this what he teaches you guys after leaving?" Captain Hu kicked Hei Mang's chest. Was it not because of the chain locking the handcuff on the chair, Hei Mang would've fallen to the ground by now.
The chair was hanging on two legs as Hei Mang struggles to get the front legs back on the ground.
"You don't need to act tough, mister soldier. Without a weapon in our hand, you can only keep both of us inside here for 48 hours at most before releasing us out from jail. Instead of wasting each other's time right now, what about getting a VIP room for me so I can sleep during that time?" Sha-Guang said.
From the way he speaks, it seems he was a frequent guest at the police station. He is also very familiar with the laws and had many problems settled by his subordinates on his behalf. In the eyes of the law, his hand is clean.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure that you get a room you'll like. Our intention is to stuff you two here for two days anyway. Instead of sleeping, you should anticipate what you'll be seeing after going out. I'm sure you two will like it." Captain Hu turned around and left.
He had no intention to question them or doing anything at all.
To those armed, they're in confinement until a later date for a court hearing. Only a few gangsters managed to get out of jail because the evidence of their participation is lacking.
But all of these happened two days later, just before Hei Mang and Sha-Guang were released from the police station. While they don't look anxious about what will happen, the two immediately returned to their base of operation after release.
As for Zhang Qin Feng, everything was left to the police force to handle after capturing the group of gangsters. The feat of taking out two hundred gangsters and throwing half of them into jail for a minimum of year confinement is good enough to make the street peaceful for a while.
Furthermore, cutting down the manpower of the local gangs was an essential step they must take to slowly regain control over the Shuiyue City. Striking them like what Zhang Qin Feng did a few days back was just the start.
But to the higher-ups of the gangs, such an action was a blatant provocation in their eyes.
In their opinion, the line between the good and the bad was just a facade of where they stand. In the eyes of the gang members, the police force was nothing but a group of thugs that behaves legitimately on the street. What they're doing was just enacting common laws and issuing fines to people with bad luck on that particular day.
Instead, the gangsters were honoring themselves like the public's prosecutor. Like heroes without a cape but tattoos, they felt like they're doing a favor on other's behalf. Saying that they're doing a thing for justice might be a stretch. Still, not everyone was as problematic as shown on the television channels.
Unless required, the gangsters hardly armed themselves. It's not like everyone is above the law and can disregard them.
"Big brother!" Hei Mang pushed the door open into Wang Wu's office. His arrival seems to be interrupting something, but it doesn't seem like it is based on Wang Wu's expression. After the person inside the office left, Wang Wu shifted his attention to Hei Mang.
"I heard that you got taken out by someone from the Tianhe Squadron. Who has the skills to do that to you? Did you notice anything different about them?" Wang Wu asked.
"Who?" Hei Mang repeats Wang Wu's question.
"That fucker is your cousin sister's man. That boy is called Zhang Qin Feng. To think that he had some skills right now…" Hei Mang made his way to Wang Wu and answered his question.
"Oh? It's him?" Hei Mang's answer made Wang Wu grinned.
