273 Suppressing the enemy

Alex remained silent for a while and sighed. All the energy surging around him vanished as his body descended majestically. He picked up his seat in silence and only after sitting did he look at Silver with a defeated look in his eyes. No matter how much he wanted to save these people, he couldn’t endanger the life of others.

“It’s good to know you made the right decision... I will be leaving now” Silver said as he promptly stood up but then he felt immense pressure, like an ancient mountain falling on him!

Crack!

Crack!

Silver’s eyes narrowed as he was forced back on his seat by this invisible pressure, causing him to look at Alex, whose eyes were like two black whirlpools, surging with immense power.

“You leave only when I ask you to!” Alex’s voice was calm but the killing intentions in it were revealed.

“Let me make something clear.... Be it in this life or the next you will never be able to win against me. So that you dare even consider entertaining such silly thoughts. As for the issue at hand, I will do as I wish. I will stick to the original plan but I will tell you this... you will hasten your preparations and I will hasten mine. A year. That’s all I’m giving you. If your forces are not ready in a years time, I will charge into battle regardless of your thoughts. If you are not okay with my plans and still think you have what it takes to kill me, go ahead, I would like to see you try” Alex said with a hint of disdain in his tone.

It was one thing to do what was right for all races but he knew Silver would delay his preparations in hopes that the alliance would get desperate and weaken the enemies even more... Alex was never a good person, but he wasn’t bad either. The same couldn’t be said for Silver.

When they were little, Silver would play costly jokes and outright evil deeds just to get the attention of people. He never cared who got hurt by his tricks and jokes, which caused the first fallout between him and Alex in the past.

.....

Even though Alex’s death was predicted by him, he still played with Alex and put him at risk. Even where there was a low chance that he would survive, Silver didn’t even bother to inform him about it. His so-called plan ended up causing him to be cut in half and even lose his head and have it transplanted into another body.

What if the operation failed?

What would have happened?

“ALEX!” Silver rages as his silver aura explodes, allowing him to break free from his body.

Xiu!

His hand shot forward like a blade, shooting towards Alex’s chest, forcing Alex to remember the image of Silver slashing into Kyle’s chest and pulling out his hand.

Seeing this, Alex’s eyes turned cold as fierce light flashed in his eyes.

Hmph!

Bang!

Silver’s elongated hand smashed into an invisible barrier and he was thrown back.

Bang!

Silver rolled on the ground and quickly got to his feet as soon as he hit the ground.

“Alex!” Silver’s eyes were blazing with power.

“You created a body perfect for defeating everyone in the world but I guess you didn’t add me to your calculations? Because if you did, you failed” Alex said with fierce power burning in his eyes but he remained seated.

“Kill me? Replace me? Impudent!” Alex said coldly

“Do you not care about your family? About earth? Are you insane?” Silver growled like a beast but Alex remained calm.

“I already told you... You have a year to gather all your forces and move into battle with me. If you don’t come by that time, I will move in and assist the alliance and protect those people.... If you don’t like my plan, you can go ahead and try to replace me... I would like to see who has the ability to take my life!” Alex said with a frosty gaze.

Hearing this, everyone in the room was terrified. It was clear these two were currently suppressing their power in hopes of not harming those around them but if things keep escalating this way, it may blow out of control soon.

“Alex... One year it is.... Within that one year, if you do anything to sabotage my plans I will personally take your life... if you doubt my strength, I will prove it to you then!” Silver hissed but Alex remained unmoved.

“Hmph! A man who let go of his humanity and gave away his body just for mechanical parts thinks he can fight me? You have reached your peak boy, but I am far from mine. When that time comes you will die at my hands... just like everyone else who dares stand in my way” Alex said coldly and waved his hand, dismissing Silver.

Buzzz!

How dare Alex treat him like a mere minion?

Silver was seething with anger but it only lasted for a few seconds. The next second he returned to his calm temperament and stood up properly.

He dusted his clothes as his eyes let out a bright blue flash and what seemed like a portal formed behind him.

Without looking back, Silver jumped in and vanished.

Blegh!

Alex spat out a mouthful of blood and fell on his knee with a terribly pale face. The elders panicked and all scrambled toward Alex to help him up

Who would have thought he hadn’t healed properly? If he knew his situation was this bad, why would he anger someone like Silver?

But wasn’t his matter absorption able to heal everything? What happened?

Questions filled the minds of these elders but the members of the revolution and the culture remained seated, gazing at Alex with strange eyes.

“Never show weakness in front of the enemy... To think a day would come when you would fully consider Silver an enemy. What the hell? Who would have thought you would remember our old man’s words?” Damon Briggs said with a bitter smile.
