With trembling hands, Lexi wiped her mother's body with a cloth and warm water. She wanted to hide her mother in the pocket dimension for safety, but it was impossible.
However, that place would not be able to accommodate any living beings.
"We'll be safe, Mom." The doctor smiled, looking at her mother with teary eyes. "We'll get through all of this."
A sound like something breaking echoed from outside. Lexi closed her eyes, trying to steel her heart. It seemed that those mages could create another crack in the magic barrier.
It had been a day since the group had arrived.
"I have to go, mom." Lexi sighed. "I have to hold them back."
In the end, that magic barrier will be destroyed. Lexi didn't know how she would escape with her mother. She could only depend on the demon lord's arrival.
That woman stood up while wiping her tears. "I'll be back later."
She left her mother's room and moved to a small room near the kitchen.
"I don't know much about magic barriers." Ayre, observing the crystal ball that was there, muttered. "However, I feel this is not something good."
The cracks in the barrier are getting bigger and bigger. Several mages shot balls of white light at the thing, then Greg–the brass knuckle user–punched it several times.
With tremors still in her hands, Lexi put her hand on the crystal ball and closed her eyes. This time the light emanating from her hand was brighter.
A female mage–who had been around since yesterday–shouted. "Hey, can you hear me, devil's doctor! There's no point in you defending this barrier! Sooner or later, this shit will be destroyed! So, give up!"
Lexi tried to ignore that and focused on maintaining the magic barrier, even though it could only buy time.

[Vorn's POV]
I walked at a brisk pace toward the alley that led to Lexi's house. Previously I flew around to a less populated area to avoid people. However, I'm sure some still saw me.
After that, I chose to use my feet. I really want to minimize the attention of people. Moreover, I have not conquered this city.
Having great power doesn't mean I can be reckless.
"Get ready, Xenora." I hissed, seeing that the alley was only a few yards away. "We're going to surprise them."
"I'm ready." The succubus walking next to me answered.
As soon as I turned into the alley, I was confronted by a fully armored officer.
"Sorry, this place is now off-limit…."
Xenora interrupted the officer's words with a kick to the man's neck. The kick was so hard the officer fainted instantly.
And it caught the attention of others in the alley. They were about to attack me, but I jumped forward and punched one of them.
Xenora also attacked. She gave a combination of kicks to two officers in turn. Then, she flew and gave her knee to Greg's face.
And with just that one strike, the man with the brass knuckle fell.
"Did you smell the foul odor again, Xenora?" I glared at those who were still standing but withstood their attacks. The veins on their faces had already stiffened.
Ten people, huh?
"Yes," Xenora answered from behind those people. "I can smell it."
"So, we have to be wary of their weapons." I walked forward.
"Don't be afraid! Attack!" One of the officers raised his sword, then ran towards me, followed by another.
I easily knocked them down by punching them in the face. Meanwhile, Xenora attacked the mages who were in the back row.
Due to the tight space, the magic users couldn't do anything when Xenora's combined leg attacks hit them.
We've managed to knock most of them out in a relatively short time. The only ones still conscious are a mage and the woman who uses knives.
They were the ones who came yesterday with Greg.
"I heard you guys from Shadow, huh?" I used the information from Ayre. "No wonder you don't want to attack. Instead of assisting these people, you girls want to run away."
When I mention the Shadow organization, I can see their bodies twitch a little.
"Because of one of you, my general is now unconscious." Xenora's voice was like a growl. "You also have to take responsibility…."
The mage shot a fireball at Xenora's body, sending the succubus' body flying, hitting the magic barrier, then falling to the ground.
I stepped forward, then stabbed my hand into the mage's back until it penetrated ahead. The magic-user died covered in blood, but her comrade had already started climbing the wall.
At first, I was about to chase after her, but Xenora got up again with an insane laugh. "More!!! Give me that pain again!!! More!!!"
Xenora looked at the knife wielder, who continued to climb the wall.
Normally I'd do something like this myself, but I'm letting her take my place this time. She also needs revenge against the Shadow organization, after all.
Xenora flew after the knifes-wielding woman, grabbed her neck with both feet, pulled her, and crashed her down to the ground.
I almost cringed when the agent landed headfirst, making her neck bend in the wrong direction.
The succubus landed next to me, looking at the two Shadow agents, who showed no more signs of life. "It's very easy to kill these two. I find it hard to believe that one of their comrades killed Madam Phisovia."
"Well, to be fair, your opponent and Phisovia back then weren't just humans, but wyverns as well." I patted her shoulder. "This can't be compared to that… By the way, are you alright?"
Xenora looked at the large burn on her waist. "This is nothing, my lord."
That wound is terrible, but it's Xenora. She could definitely endure such a thing.
The magic barrier in front of the house collapsed and disappeared. We rushed to the door of the house. Since that thing was locked, I used my strength to push it open.
There's no time. We had to leave as soon as possible, though I still had to figure out where to put Lexi's mother.
I had only taken a few steps and my ears could hear a scream.
"Mom!!!"
