Chapter 131: Freak
Spectators remained silent, each of their complexion holding different types of emotions.
Some held shock, some looked indifferent while there were a few that seemed angered; just like how Alde’s expression appeared to be at the moment.
“This… How the fuck did he survive?” asked Alde after a moment of silence, his complexion gradually darkening from deep anger.
So far, from time to time whenever he thought or believed that Khal would fail and die, he had to realize that he was wrong and Khal succeeded to define his assumption every time!
The sensation he was currently feeling was akin to small larvas crawling under his skin and no matter what he tried to do it didn’t go away.
And this almost unbearable feeling grew bigger and bigger with each passing day since the moment he first met with him!
He tried to kill him not once but twice, yet failed both times miserably. First, he sent assassins at him that was on the First Stage as he believed their strength would have been enough to kill him; but turned out that his attempt failed miserably.
That is why he sent Moras at Khal for the second time. Even though Moras was an average type assassin in his family he thought that a Fourth Stage Cultivator, especially with a powerful Talent such as Moras’s, killing Khal will be a piece of cake.
Yet, that endeavor of his went awry too and miserably on top of that!
“He still won’t be able to win. Once he meets with her, she will definitely kill him.” thought Alde, his eyes subconsciously shifting to the screen where Seila’s figure could be seen.
On the other hand, Liza’s and Nate’s expressions relaxed as they could finally sigh with relief as it seemed that Khal was doing just perfectly fine.
“Haha! That brat… Not bad at all!” laughed Raffin spiritedly as he patted his thigh, showing his white row of teeth as he grinned widely.
“Grit Eaters are truly terrifying Beasts that could kill anyone below them in Cultivation Strength no question.” said Raffin as he crossed his bulging arms before his wide chest and leaned back into his chair, “However, Grit Eater’s have one significant weakness that makes them insanely vulnerable. With enough weapon and the right weapon, even a Second Stage Cultivator could kill it.”
“However, the attempt to find its weakness was a bit risky that’s why I said that brat has nuts bigger than the skies!”
And it was exactly what Raffin said. Khal didn’t know about the Grit Eaters’ hidden ability that Alde or others knew about, but he knew about this weakness thanks to the book.
Though, that weakness required one to attempt something that others would call suicide!
He had to let the Beast consume him, and if he were lucky enough not to be sliced up by the hundreds of razor-sharp teeth, he could use a sharp weapon to cut himself out from the interior!
But what others didn’t know that Khal didn’t need luck as he had the strongest defense that he could currently wish for; his Diamond Skin!
Thanks to its an extremely tough trait, except for several white marks on his crystal-like skin those ‘sharp’ teeth couldn’t harm him at all.
Naturally, he didn’t want to use this method if it wasn’t a must as he didn’t know if his Diamond Skin was strong enough, but after this attempt, he knew for sure… He can kill every Grit Eater in this wasteland!
“Thanks to this Artificial Beast Essence, just like normal Beast Essence my energy got replenished quite a bit, so…” immediately after he said that, Khal turned around, his face holding a smug grin that no one would have belived to see.
“What is he doing?” lots of spectators asked the same question, as everyone saw that Khal didn’t try to escape but remained motionless.
“Yeah, you were able to kill one through sheer luck, but you can’t kill the rest! There are more than twenty others on their way toward you! Run you fool!” Merlyn shouted up, but Asur simply shook his head; his face even held a smile that was rare to see on him!
“That was no luck but skill. Did you forget he owns a powerful Beast Core? Maybe the blood on him hides it, but you can clearly see that he used that to survive the Beast’s teeth. And if I am right, he plans to…”
And just as Asur reached that point of his sentence, three more Grit Eaters emerged before Khal, the middle one immediately falling and eating him in an instant!
Yet, just as that happened, exactly the same sight occurred before everyone like a few moments ago and Khal’s body emerged through a sliced wound, killing the Beast right away!
But not even a second later as he emerged, the Grit Eater on the left appeared and is him, but that was too killed by Khal then consumed by another one in a flash!
Devoured, killed, then eaten alive once again!
Khal was consumed alive but every time he was belived to be dead he emerged, his body covered with way more blood than the previous time!
Every time he emerged from the gap he created, showing his blood and sliced flesh-covered body to all to see, he looked more and more like a devil that emerged from the deepest part of hell!
And what was even scarier than Rubie was bold enough and do the same thing as him!
Flying into one of the Grit Eater’s mouths with blinding speed and reappearing through a bloody gap that turned into solidified ruby a few seconds later, made the spectators turn speechless with gaped mouths!
None of them could believe what they were watching at the moment!
“He is a monster… No that is not the right term. He is a freak! An insane maniac that not fears death!”
Well, they were half right as Khal was truly not afraid of death as he already experienced what it was like dying once.
Thus, something like this as being eaten alive for him was nothing special at all.
Obviously, it was a scary experience for the first few times but it gradually became quite boring. Damn, even Rubie, a bird slaughtered these ‘terrifying’ Beasts that were scary as they were pigs!
In Khal’s eyes, these Grit Eaters became quite… weak.
Of course, if anyone else, especially those on or below his Stage would have known what he thought they would definitely strangle him alive for being so arrogant!
“RAAAUUURGHHH!!!”
As the last Grit Eater fell into the sand, a voice ringed inside Khal’s head from time to time.
[Notify! ‘Heaven’s Eyes’ has consumed 6 ‘Artificial Beast Essence’!]
[Notify! ‘Heaven’s Eyes’ has consumed 2 ‘Artificial Beast Essence’!]
[Notify! ‘Heaven’s Eyes’ has consumed 9 ‘Artificial Beast Essence’!]
[Notify! ‘Heaven’s Eyes’ has…]
Khal felt a warm sensation sweeping through his body as though he just merged into a hot spring; he even closed his eyes to enjoy the brief moment as this felt somehow much better when he consumed normal Beast Essence!
Sometime later, when the final notification appeared in his head Khal opened his eyes and smiled.
His Heaven’s eyes grew all the way from 409 to 503!
His Heaven’s Eyes strength jumped almost a hundred only by killing a bit more than 20 Grit Eater!
Even his energy and physical strength got replenished through this mean which made his mood better instantly.
“…”
“Huh?” however his merry expression didn’t last long as he felt Rubie’s sad and piercing glare on his skin.
“What? Did you get injured?” asked Khal, but after seeing that except for the blood all over her body she looked perfectly fine.
“Schreeech!” suddenly Rubie cried out loud toward Khal, making Khal come to an awful realization.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t think about this!” said Khal hurriedly as he discovered something he didn’t until this moment.
All the Artificial Beast Essences, including the ones that came from Rubie’s kill, he consumed all of them without realizing!
He didn’t leave any for her even though he should have!
“I am truly sorry!” said Khal as he tried to make Rubie happy once again.
But no matter what he said or tried to do, Rubie on his shoulder remained silent, even turning her head away as though she was angry.
However, what Khal didn’t realize that as he acted in such a manner all the spectators stared at him like a complete fool, not knowing why he was apologizing to a Beast which was his own summon in the first place!
