Child of Destiny

Chapter 1044 Unforgiven One Against Son Of Heaven (Part 2)

...

Boom!

The collision of opposing powers produced a series of explosions as they tried to push each other back. The evil aura that was coming from Darren was quite potent but it could not push forward as the wave of mental energy coming from David was in a similar level of strength, if not higher.

But despite having a slight advantage, the look on David's face was not good. Not only he found this opponent powerful, but it could also mean that this fight would be dragged longer than he had expected which was not good news for him.

He could not afford to waste more time here since he still had to chase after Shiella before she put herself at extreme risk. He knew that their opponents were much more powerful than they originally thought given that he bumped into an Unforgiven One who possessed multiple artificial talents. This could only mean that someone more powerful was waiting for them on the other side.

He had already released the third phase of his limit break, but he still could not feel the overwhelming advantage that he was expecting. And to add more to his concerns, his 'Enlightened Eyes' could see how twisted the 'fate' that his opponent had.

It was the result of sacrificing the lives of countless children in order to achieve such an evil power. The souls of the innocents were raging which created a twisted and ghastly power.

This could only mean that Darren was no longer a human. With such a messed up 'fate', it would not be strange for David to call Darren an abomination hiding under human skin.

Aside from facing this opponent and worrying about Shiella, David also had to think about his current condition. With his current strength, his boy could only hold the third phase of his limit break for thirty minutes, at most. And it was in the condition that he would not be doing anything.

But since this was going to be an intense battle, the span that he could hold this state would be much shorter. And if he tried to extend that time, he would suffer serious injuries during the process. At the same time, there was also the risk of his Mental Energy going berserk due to being unlocked for an extended period of time.

'I can't control the overwhelming power of Divinity Grade Mental Energy for long, so I have to somehow end this as soon as possible,' thought David as he tried to gauge the current strength of his opponent.

He knew his limits, so he needed to have a proper understanding of his opponent to draw a clear plan in his mind. He had to formulate a plan where he could end this battle as soon as possible while also minimizing the damage that he was going to suffer.

A few moments later, the raging auras that were clashing earlier finally subdued as David and Darren controlled their respective powers.

Bang!

David did not waste any more time as he quickly kicked the ground and charged forward. At the same time, he took out a bunch of talismans from his spatial bag before throwing them in the air. He did a series of hand seals which made those talismans float around him while revolving in a coordinated manner.

Darren had no idea what David was planning to do, but his instincts were telling him that he could not face the latter head-on.

Following his instincts, he quickly retreated while extending his hand in the air, doing a grabbing motion. Right after his hand clasped in the air, the Evil Qi that he was releasing suddenly formed a black sword, materializing with an exquisite design.

The blade of the aura sword was releasing a showy flame which was creating a blazing trail in the air as he moved the sword.

The quickly halted his steps when the black sword materialized and swiftly swung it in the air multiple times, sending a series of sword waves toward David.

Loud and eerie shrieks could be heard from each of the sword waves, creating a distracting and uncomfortable feeling.

David frowned deeply when he heard the cries of the innocent children. He then extended his hand and grabbed a couple of talismans between his fingers before channeling his Mental Energy on them.

He then flicked his wrist forward and sent the talismans ahead, meeting the incoming sword waves made of ghastly powers.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of explosions quickly followed after the collision of the two sides. The two young men continued throwing their attacks at each other as they continued to move away from their current location.

David was purposely pushing his opponent away, leading the latter toward a certain location. Naturally, Darren was able to see through David's plans and quickly adjusted his movements, being wary of his surroundings.

"This should be enough," David swept his eyes in the surroundings before halting his steps all of a sudden, catching Darren completely off-guard.

David did not wait for his opponent to react as he quickly spread his arms wide, sending the talismans floating around him in every direction.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

With precise control, the talismans stuck themselves in different locations – on the trees, grounds, benches, walls, and gutters – creating a carefully laid formation.ραпdα `nᴏνɐ| сom

It was already too late for Darren to realize what was going on. He thought that David was pushing him back to find a way to break from him and head over to where Shiella was fighting. He did not expect that the latter was actually looking for a good location to build a Mentalism Formation.

Before he could even respond, David was already doing the final link for the formation.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Lights suddenly shot out from each of the talismans, linking themselves with one another, forming an isolation and sealing formation.

This formation had no drastic effect on Darren, but it gave David an additional strength that could help him control the powerful Mental Energy that was flowing through his body.

After that, he suddenly clasped his palms together before channeling his mental energy on them. And when the accumulation of powers reached its peak, he slowly moved the palms away from each other as golden rods slowly materialized between them.

The materialized rod with a length of a meter and a half floated in front of David as the remaining talismans around him started wrapping themselves around it.

The violent mental energy flowing through his meridians suddenly calmed down when David grabbed the golden rod fully wrapped with special talismans. He kept channeling the excess mental energy on the golden rod while the rod itself continuously absorbed it like a hungry beast.

He then flipped the golden rod with both of his hands and rotated it around his body, trying to accustom himself to it. And after familiarizing himself with it, he quickly sprung back into action, not waiting for the opposing side to adjust themselves.

Swoosh!

Darren did not put a lot of thought into it and just swung his black sword forward when he saw David suddenly appear in front of him and was about to swing the golden rod in his hands.

Bang!

The collision immediately created a strong ripple pushing everything away from them. The ground underneath their feet even sank due to the heavy force behind their attacks.

David felt a little uncomfortable swinging the golden rod as he did not like using this kind of weapon. But since he left his real weapon in their village due to his master's insistence, he had no choice but to become accustomed to different kinds of weapons.

Fortunately, his experiences when roaming around the world and challenging fellow talents in the same generation helped him a lot when handling an unfamiliar weapon.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The two engaged in an intense melee, exchanging powerful attacks one after another. They were not using any advanced moves and only showcasing some basic combat and foot techniques. But each of their movements contained a lot of martial essences that could only be seen by the top experts.

The battle between real experts could not be determined by who had the stronger move but by who was able to create and seize the perfect opportunity to use their powerful moves.

Both sides understood this fact very well which was why they were continuously pushing their opponents to make mistakes and looking out for the right opportunity to strike.

During these exchanges, David noticed how serious it was to face an Unforgiven One. The power behind Darren's attacks was not that strong but the ghastly energy that was accompanying them was a serious concern. Not only they had a corrosive effect that could affect the physical condition of their opponent, but they could also affect the minds of the opposing side.

Each attack that Darren made seemed to contain the resentment and anguish of the poor souls of the innocent children. Moreover, there was also the natural ability that the Evil Practitioners had – the ability to continuously ignore their injuries during the battle, no matter how serious it was.

On top of these, David also started to feel the pressure of the multiple talents that his opponent had.

If he was an ordinary person, then he would most likely be defeated ages ago. Fortunately, had a lot of experience and was able to continuously respond to every unexpected situation that he encountered.

But, on the other side, his mind was also constantly recording everything through his 'Enlightened Eyes', giving him all of the information that he needed to take down his opponent.

Darren was also starting to feel that there was something wrong. He knew that the longer he dragged his battle, the more advantageous it was for their side. But at the same time, he also could not shake off the feeling that something bad was going to happen if he continued to wait longer.

Torn between the two choices, Darren was no longer sure what to do. He was now feeling the pressure of the person who was known as the Wanderer.

He was starting to understand how it felt to face a person blessed by heaven with natural talent – to understand the might of the man 'David Solomon'.
