Chapter 34 - How dare he!
Author Note:
I’ll tell you this once and for all. Li Zhiqiang IS THE MALE LEAD.
Phew!
I’ve said this before countless times but you guys seem to miss it always. So here, I scream it. Also, Su Liwei is the second male lead. Although he loves FL, he is confused and will make mistakes that will make him lose her. So there are two Male Leads in my novel. We don’t get to see that much in web novels cause Second male lead is often narrated as a trashy, greedy man who hates the female lead and has no feelings for her. But It gets boring after some time. So I wanted to try something new. I hope you support the new setting!
Love author!

Jing Lihua’s vision was blurry. It slowly adjusted to focus. Her eyes met a breathtaking face. She was dazed, not knowing where she was or how she got here.
"What happened?" She quickly tried to get up into a sitting position. Memories of the yesterday appeared in her mind. She had passed out in the restaurant. Mo Liang... he must have brought her here.
"Easy." Li Zhiqiang helped her sit.
"Who are you?"
Li Zhiqiang fell silent. Did she really not recognize him? Or was she still angry and pretending to not know him? He looked deeply into her eyes. She looked genuinely confused. So she really did forget him? Li Zhiqiang went gloomy.
She shivered. Why is the temperature suddenly falling? Did she say something wrong?
"I’m Li Zhiqiang."
Why did the name sound familiar? Who could it be? She didn’t know any Li Zhiqiang. Then she thought, she was in a hospital room. So it must be a doctor, Right? Who else could it be? And he was also wearing a white coat so...
"You must be the doctor?"
No answer.
The man didn’t say anything. Why is he staring at her like that? She couldn’t exactly describe the look. It was like a child would stare at someone who had stolen his favorite candy.
Weird.
But in the end, he didn’t deny being a doctor.
What a moody doctor! Wouldn’t even reply!
"Doctor Li? Why are you holding my hand?"
"I’m taking your pulse." Li Zhiqiang didn’t want to let go of her hand so he shamelessly lied.
Alright, calm down! Calm down. His hand was warm and felt soothing to her cold hand. How much time was required to take someone’s pulse? Why was he not letting go of her hand? The tension in the air was killing her!
And why was her heart beating so fast? Must be because of the IV drip. Yup. Must be it. She didn’t want to admit that the ridiculously hot doctor in her proximity was the reason her heart was somersaulting. Could he not sit a further away to give her air to breath?
"Where are my friends? Mo Liang and Zhao Liying?" Jing Lihua attempted to start and conservation and break the suffocating tension in the air.
Silence. A very long silence. When Jing Lihua finally gave up all the hopes that the moody doctor was going to give her an answer, he spoke.
"Mr. Mo passed out in the resting room. Ms. Zhao had waited along with Mr. Mo for four hours before she had to leave to attend to some business. Would you like to send someone to wake him?"
"No, it’s okay."
Jing Lihua felt concerned for Mo Liang. She knew what kind of a lazy person he was. And to have him wait for her for so many hours, he deserved this much rest. Suddenly she felt the hold on her wrist tighten a bit. She didn’t know that while her face was filled with concern for Mo Liang, Li Zhiqiang had been intently looking at her, studying her expressions.
"What is your relationship with Mr. Mo?" He suddenly asked.
What happened to the moody doctor now?
"Friends"
"Just friends?"
"Yes...?"
Silence. His gripped eased. Jing Lihua waited. Was he not going to explain why he asked that? She looked at him with expectant eyes. Still, he revealed no intentions of explaining. Finally not being able to endure his silence anymore, she opened her mouth but at the same time, he said.
"Someone from the family needed to sign the forms."
So he thought Mo Liang was her husband or something? What the hell! Not only this doctor was moody, but he was also dumb! Who in the Beijing didn’t know she was married to Su Liwei? Did this doctor even know who she was?
"Doctor Li, how long is it going to have you check my pulse?"
She wasn’t a doctor but she knew that much that taking pulse didn’t take this long that this dumb moody doctor was taking. To this, the moody doctor finally let go of her wrist. She eased; only now she realized how psychologically pressurizing his hold was on her wrist.
To her surprise, he went to a side and picked up a tray from the side table, brought it in front of her and placed it in her lap. And to her even greater surprise, he took a spoonful of porridge and guided it to her mouth. Jing Lihua tilted her head slightly.
"What are you doing?"
"You need nutrition."
"Alright. I can eat myself."
"No, you can’t" He glanced at her right hand that was connected to the IV drip. Why was his JingJing so stubborn?
"I can eat with my left..."
Before she could finish, he shoved the spoon in her mouth.
F.u.c.k!
This dumb, moody doctor was crazy too?
Before she could object, he shoved another spoon in her mouth. She stared at him with big startled eyes filled with incredulity. Li Zhiqiang found her expressions quite cute. Something fluttered in his chest. She looked like an adorable kitten. A severe urge to pat her rose in his heart. But he pushed back his urge, thinking it would be difficult to explain if he did that. He guided another spoonful to her mouth totally ignoring her objections.
How dare he! How dare he disrespect the President of the Tang enterprise! Jing Lihua didn’t know what the hell was wrong with this doctor’s head. She admitted that he was unreasonably hot but that didn’t give him any excuse to act on his will!
She glowered at him trying to make her face look as scary as possible. But in Li Zhiqiang’s eyes, she looked more and more appealing and cute. Surprisingly his JingJing looked more alluring when angry. Hmm... Should he purposely anger her in the future?
If Jing Lihua knew what was going on through this man’s head, she would have wanted to kill herself. That her seriously maintained scary face with great difficulty and it was having the opposite effect.
"You want to get fired? Don’t cross lines."
So his JingJing knows how to threaten. Since the last time, she has really grown ferocious. But he liked the change.
Why is there amus.e.m.e.nt in his eyes instead of fear? Jing Lihua wasn’t satisfied with his response. What would it take to scare him? She would pay anything just to see a scared look on his face!
"Do you think I can’t fire you?"
He only stared at her with a small smile.
"I don’t care if you fire me. Caring for a patient, not to mention such a beautiful patient, is my utmost concern"
D-Did he just flirt with her? Does he not know she is married? And why is her heart beating faster? Jing Lihua’s face flushed. She agreed that he was hot but mere the looks shouldn’t have such an effect on her. For some reason, she lost her anger.
Jing Lihua snatched the spoon from him and grumpily ate the tasteless porridge to show him that she could eat it herself while glaring at him from the corner of her eyes with fake anger. This trick seems to work on her employers. Why is it not working on him? The spoon slipped from her hand. She picked it up. It slipped again.
How difficult it can be to eat with the left hand? She wouldn’t give up. She wouldn’t give that crazy doctor a chance to laugh at her!
While struggling with the spoon, she accidentally flapped it.
Swoosh!
It flew across the room while spilling porridge everywhere. Her clothes were dirtied, her bedsheets were messed up. Even her face was smeared with it.
When he saw his JingJing’s beautiful face smeared with porridge, he couldn’t resist the urge to laugh. He couldn’t control himself. She looked so cute. A kitten playing in porridge.
No. Don’t you dare. Don’t you dare laugh at me! Don’t you know who I’m? I can make your life miserable. Finally, in desperation, she cried.
"Why are you still standing here? If there isn’t anything else, I would like some time alone to rest"
