Lee Seng took in a deep breath and exhaled. He did this four more times before he nodded. He imagined the wisps reaching out and touching Keng. The wisps slowly moved outwards from Lee Seng's hand and started to float over to Keng. They moved at a faster pace than last time.
'Make sure breathing is good. Keep the wisps going.' Lee Seng reminded himself. He watched as the wisps joined together and created a hand. The wispy hand reached out for Keng and joined with Keng's wisps.
"O-okay. I-I did--"
The wisps immediately pulled back and Lee Seng groaned in frustration. He had successfully extended the wisps to Keng, but his excitement for actually doing it must have disrupted his concentration.
"Do it again." Keng spoke. Lee Seng nodded and refocused.
"I will get it this time." He spoke. He steadied himself and imagined a wispy hand touching Keng. The wisps formed and reached out again. They moved and formed a hand. The wispy hand touched Keng. It stayed on Keng for a few seconds and then immediately pulled back. Lee Seng grunted in frustration and readied himself again.
He did the same exact thing again and watched as the wisps pulled back after a couple of seconds. He repeated the same exact steps over and over and watched as the wisps kept pulling back. His frustration grew with each immediate pull back.
"Argh!" Lee Seng screamed. He slammed his fist onto his thigh. "Why does it come back every time? I want it to stay there!" He put his hand out and imagined the wispy hand connecting with Keng and holding its place. The wisps extended off his hand and formed a wispy hand. It connected with Keng's wisps and landed on Keng. The hand held and Lee Seng watched.
Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eigh-- The wisps immediately pulled back. Lee Seng groaned as the wisps pulled back. He was about to scream again when he felt something different. The wisps around him were shaking. He moved his hands to hover a couple feet above his legs. He realized his whole body was shaking.
"W-what's going on?" Lee Seng asked. His body felt exhausted. It felt off. He looked up at Keng with urgency. "What's happening, Keng?"
"Calm down. You've literally extended your aura over a dozen times. It's normal your whole body would be tired after doing it that many times." Keng explained. Keng stood up and walked over to Lee Seng. He lifted his front paws up and touched Lee Seng's chest. "Lie down for awhile." Keng pushed his weight onto Lee Seng, who begrudgingly, lied down. Keng released himself off of Lee Seng and sat near him.
"One hard thing after the other." Lee Seng quietly said. He watched the monochrome sky again. He watched the gray clouds pass him. His soul world felt... comforting.
Lee Seng rested for quite awhile before Keng suddenly pawed at him.
"I think that should be enough time. Let's try to implement part 2." Keng suggested. Lee Seng agreed and lifted himself up into a sitting position. Keng moved to be a couple of feet in front of him again and sat. "You may not be able to sustain a connection for longer than seven seconds. You need to be quick and you need to execute the Dark Matter eating technique within that timeframe."
"Seven seconds to execute everything," Lee Seng summarized. "That means I'll have to make sure I can speed the wisps up if they're too far."
"Try to properly execute the technique first."
Lee Seng lifted his hand up and watched as the wisps responded to his action. They started to lift away from him and fly straight at Keng. A wispy hand formed and reached out to touch Keng.
"Now, imagine you're pulling Dark Matter out of me. That dark gray substance you saw me pull out of you." Keng told Lee Seng. Lee Seng grasped his hand, imagining the wispy hand grabbed onto Keng's dark gray Dark Matter. He imagined it being pulled out and coming back to him. Lee Seng felt the wispy hand grab at something and he started to pull.
The wispy hand pulled back with no Dark Matter substance. Lee Seng shook his head and shook his hands.
"Repeat and try harder." Lee Seng mumbled. Even now, his older brother's advice came out. He positioned his hand and watched the wisps build on his hand. He released the wisps outwards, watching them form into a wispy hand. The hand came close to Keng and as soon as it made contact, Lee Seng imagined grabbing the Dark Matter within Keng. He watched as his physical hand clutched the air while the wisp hand lagged behind.
Lee Seng felt the wisp hand connect with something. He could see it somewhat clutching at Keng and imagined it clutching what was inside of Keng. The Dark Matter substance that resided within him. His claw hand turned to a fist and he quickly pulled backwards. He watched as the wisp hand pulled back, clutching at a small bead of dark gray substance.
The wisps rejoined him and his hand held a single dark gray bead. He lifted it up in amazement.
"Dark Matter look like this?" Lee Seng gasped in excitement. He couldn't believe he had actually pulled off the Dark Matter eating technique.
"Now, let the wisps take it." Keng told him. Lee Seng looked at Keng and let go of the bead. His eyes darted back to his hand and he watched the wisps grab the Dark Matter bead and watched it disappear into the wisps. Lee Seng felt his body shake and watched as Keng and his body dimly glowed. "You've successfully did it. Now you just need to pull out a bigger amount than a bead. A bead size won't make a difference in battle, but something like... a small ball will make a difference."
Lee Seng spent the next several attempts practicing the Dark Matter eating technique. Each time he pulled away, a slightly bigger bead emerged. He watched as the bead disappeared into the white wisps every attempt and readied himself for the next attempt. Lee Seng wiped the sweat off of his brow and sighed.
He raised his left hand up into the air, once again, and watched the wisps move quicker towards Keng. He clutched his hand and the wispy hand quickly formed and grabbed at Keng. Lee Seng dug deeper, pushing past Keng's physical body and clutching at his Dark Matter body. Lee Seng grasped onto something larger and pulled at it. Lee Seng watched as a small ball pulled out of Keng's body.
Lee Seng watched as the wispy hand pulled back and the small ball of Dark Matter landed in his hands.
"I did it! I did it!" Lee Seng exclaimed. He jumped onto his feet and held the Dark Matter ball in his hand. He watched as the wisps went at the small ball. The ball disappeared instantly and he felt the familiar shake and watched as his body began to glow.
A distant familiar chime began to play. Lee Seng looked around. The noise seemed to come from everywhere.
"What's that?" Lee Seng asked. Keng's head darted in different directions and landed at the tree.
"Over there." Keng started to trot over towards the tree.
"The alarm!" Lee Seng shouted. He rushed over to the tree and stopped by the tree. He turned to look at Keng.
"You've managed to successfully do it once. Do you think this'll be enough for you to do it? You pulled like five beads and one single small ball out."
"If I have to try to use it, I'll use it. Hopefully I can figure out a way to do it." Lee Seng watched as the wisps started to flicker. "Fifty minutes is all I can do? Hmm, I guess this'll have to be enough for now." Lee Seng pushed himself through the tree and his eyes fluttered opened. He reached for his phone and shut the alarm off.
He reached for his eyes and realized the mask was gone. He noticed the wisps disappeared and wiped his eyes, yawning. He lifted himself up and looked around. Nobody seemed to be around. He pushed himself off the floor and stood up, stretching. He loudly groaned as his body screeched for more stretching.
He glanced at his phone and noticed he had a couple of text messages. He clicked on them and realized they were from Olivia. The first text was sent fifteen minutes ago and the last one was sent a minute ago.
"Evan and Rituska... That's going to be the most interesting fight."
"I just finished up at the hospital. Where are you?"
"Hey, are you alright? I'm going to Gymnasium A."
"At gym A, where are you?"
"I went to nap after I saw the fight. I'll meet you at the ring." Lee Seng responded. His phone instantly pinged back and it was a message from Olivia.
"we're at left side, middle." Olivia responded.
"Alright, see ya soon."
