Chapter 222 The Golden Sun

Lee Seng put a claw on his chest and listened as his soul orb hummed. Everyone in the crowd turned away as light started to pour out of his body. He pulled the orb out and looked into it.

'What can Light Manipulation do?' Lee Seng thought. The orb swirled and some text for Light Manipulation came up.

User can manipulate light to distort themselves and control the light around them. Blessing of the Two Suns has mutated the ability to give it healing properties.

"There might be a way…" Lee Seng muttered. He moved out of it and watched as the orb pulled information up on Blessed Fox-Fire.

Blessed Fox-Fire, mutation strand of Fox-Fire. Mutated based on the Blessing of the Two Suns. Use the power of the Golden Sun to power your fox-fire with healing properties that can greatly purge and cleanse any negative effects within and on the body.

"This could work." Lee Seng pulled the orb out from his face and sunk it back into his chest. "Lady Vix'i, I think we have a way to heal the injured but it's a long shot."

"What is it?" Lady Vix'i leaned in. Lee SEng moved and whispered into her ear of what he found out. After he was done, he pulled away. Lady Vix'i nodded and looked at Nabi and the others on stage.

"Lee Seng, Keng, go with Nabi and Zixin to one of the empty buildings. We'll lay the injured there. You'll work on one of the injured ones and we'll see the results. If it works well, we'll allow you two to work on someone, each until all of the injured are healed. After that's dealt with, we'll bury our dead.

"Demetrius, you take some men to the graves. We'll put those lost to the cursed tree to rest there. In the meantime, everyone pray that the injured are healed and the curse afflictions will lift and our brethren will come back to us." Lady VIx'i looked at the crowd. The chaos began to move. Lee Seng and Keng followed Nabi and Zixin to one of the buildings nearby the square.

The large room was set up with beds. Candelabras attached to walls and magical crystals lit up the area as they stepped inside.

"This is one of the medic centers we don't use anymore. We mainly use these for guests that aren't staying in the main Village. We'll put one of the injured at the end and make our way to the front." Nabi explained.

"Alright, let's do this." Lee Seng nodded.

"Are you sure this will work? Just earlier I was playing with the lights but you believe it can do all of that?" Keng gave Lee Seng a worried look.

"It'll have to work. If what I read is true then we have to just believe in it. They're afflicted with the curse so we'll have to use the Blessed Fox-fire first. It'll probably hurt so we'll need some sort of protection for the injured."

"We have rags we can put in their mouths. For their hands, I can hold them down." Nabi answered.

"Alright, if we got everything ready then let's start." Lee Seng moved over to the farthest bed. Nabi lifted her hand and moved it across the bed. An injured Fox landed on the bed and started to groan. Lee Seng and Keng noticed purple energy surging through their bodies. They began to shake as Zixin grabbed some cloths and opened the injured Fox's mouth and stuffed the cloth in.

"Sorry. This might hurt." Lee Seng imagined the fox-flame appearing in his hand. He could feel the heat growing in his hand and watched as a golden flame appeared. Lee Seng slowly moved it above the injured fox and looked at Nabi.

"Ready?" Nabi asked.

"Ready." Lee Seng nodded. The injured Fox's limbs were pushed down as the injured person began to squirm. Lee Seng took in a deep breath and imagined the flames burning the purple energy away. He turned his hand and pressed his hand onto the injured Fox's chest. The Fox began to scream in pain as the flames erupted onto their bodies. The flames flew straight into their bodies and a golden light imbued them as purple smoke began to spew out of their nostrils, mouth, eyes and ears.

Lee Seng moved his other hand and imagined a warm light around his hand. He imagined the way Manny healed people. A warm light enveloping the person. He touched the Fox's head and watched as a warm golden light shimmered and started to spread. The Fox was in between pain and peace. He squirmed, trying to let out a shout as Lee Seng continued to push through.

"Are you sure it's going to work?" Zixin asked. "H-he's in a lot of pain. S-should we stop?"

p "Zixin, you're not helping." Nabi told him.

"But he's–"

"It'll be fine." Lee Seng's shaky voice spoke. He tried desperately to sound like he was certain of it, but even his own voice was failing him. "It'll be fine. The pain is all that time attached to the tree. We have to burn the cursed energy out of him whilst also healing whatever we've burnt. Even though it has healing properties, this still hurts."

Lee Seng held both of his abilities on the male Fox for a while. He felt like he held for a long time, but watched as the man quickly let out a sigh of relief. Lee Seng released his fox-fire hand and held his healing hand for a little longer.

"Done." Lee Seng sighed in relief. He slouched and rested his head on the edge of the bed. HE could feel his energy leaving him.

"You did well." Keng patted. Lee Seng nodded.

"We know it works." Nabi nodded. "Now we have to do the other four survivors."

"I think this is gonna involve the new aura." Keng told Lee Seng. Lee Seng lifted his head and nodded. Their forms flickered and changed. Lee Seng was enveloped in a golden light while Keng was enveloped with a silver light. Nabi moved to the next bed and waved her hand and set another injured Fox Spirit survivor. Keng began to work on that individual as Nabi moved to the next bed and repeated the same action.

Lee Seng and Keng worked hard for the next hour, slowly healing and purging the cursed energy within the individuals. A small group of people began to hover around the door as Zixin blocked them from entering. He was just as worried as he saw the injured Foxes being healed. Nabi watched closely as the twins healed. She didn't want the twins to exhaust themselves. Lee Seng and Keng worked hard. When they both finished their last patient, Lee Seng and Keng collapsed onto the floor, hard gasps for air as sweat trickled down their bodies.

"Oh… my god…" Keng gasped. "We're… done…" Lee Seng groaned in agreement and listened to the crowd move into the room. Crying and happy emotions filled the room as they looked at the four sleeping Foxes. Nabi and Zixin tried their best to hold the Family from coming closer, but couldn't help themselves from celebrating they had gotten lost members back. Lee Seng and Keng felt arms grab them and lift them up. Family members began to express their sincerity to them and continued to thank them. Lee Seng and Keng tiredly nodded along as the Foxes thanked them.

"Alright, enough." Demetrius clapped. "The injured and the twins need to rest. If you have time, let's go prepare the burial holes. Nabi, I need to know how much is needed."

"Alright, everyone." Nabi spoke. "Let's let them rest." Zixin and Nabi began to shoo the crowd away, moving to the exit.

"You two rest. We'll let the others know where you are. If anything happens to them and you need help, there should be people around." Zixin pointed.

"Alright…" Lee Seng gave a weak thumbs up.

"Thank you." Nabi smiled. "We never thought we would get them back. We'll definitely help you in the next expedition to the Cursed Forest." The two six-tailed siblings walked out and shut the doors behind them. Lee Seng and Keng continued to heavily breath as the silence crept in.

"We did it." Lee Seng chuckled.

"Why're you laughing?" Keng asked. A smile grew on his face and he couldn't help but laugh with Lee Seng.

"Why're you laughing at me laughing?"

"Stop laughing." The two laughed for a while until their chest hurt more.

"Do you think we could do more good?" Lee Seng asked. The two had caught their breaths and energy slowly crept back into their bodies.

"Mmm, we can." Keng answered.

"I wonder if this is how successful adventuring feels like. It's nice to hear thanks from strangers…"

"We need to be prepared for anything. Even the bad things."

"I know, I know… I just… It's different. I thought they would dislike us because the Creator took Eshra."

"We'll have to continue gaining their trust by interacting with them and doing things with them."

"We have to finish the Saviors' job. Purify the Cursed Forest."

"Mmm, purify the Cursed Forest." Keng gave a thumbs up.
