Chapter 1381: Not Reminding
Chapter 1380 – Not Reminding
Lin Yi was already having a hard time protecting Xiaoke, Lingshan, Weiwu, and Yutian- three people and a dog- he couldn’t take care of Old Hei as well.
Elder Yu didn’t want to carry someone like that, but thinking of the dangers that might come, he grabbed Old Hei.
“Jump!” The instant right before the two pieces of ground closed on each other, Lin Yi cried out and grabbed Xiaoke towards him, while Yutian and Lingshan grabbed on him left and right- the group plummeted down.
The pit seemed bottomless- using the light from the palace above them, even if they were people who trained their eyes specifically while practitioning, they could only see a few hundred meters in, so one could only imagine how deep it went.
“Don’t grab so tightly on me, I can’t breathe properly!” Elder Yu wasn’t very happy about how tightly Old Hei was grabbing onto his neck- he wasn’t a pretty girl or anything, why was he hugging him so tight?
“I’m sorry, I’m a bit scared...” Old Hei said awkwardly, “I’ll let go when we get down...”
Elder Yu scoffed, his eyes unmoving from Lin Yi- but as they dropped, the light got fainter, and he couldn’t even see Lin Yi’s group anymore.
“Male thief, what’s down there, is it dangerous?” Elder Yu asked, worried. He couldn’t see Lin Yi anymore.
Lin Yi actually couldn’t see what was below them as well- he closed his eyes and entered the jade space, using the jade sense to see everything around him- everything lit up, and everything was clear!
They were in a square type pit that went very far down, with walls of smooth stone and not one spot to put your foot on. If you were wearing those shoes with powerful grips, you could just barely hold on- otherwise you’d just keep sliding down.
Eventhough everything was lit up, Lin Yi still couldn’t see the scene below him. What entered his eyes was a bottomless pit.
“I don’t know, you’re an Earth class, why are you always afraid of this and that, why come out at all? Just hide at home and practition,” Lin Yi mocked.
“Hmph, ignorant child, my life is ten thousand times more important than yours- if you die you just die, but I’m a precious antique, understand?” Elder Yu said as he explained himself, blushing a little.
“Ha...” Lin Yi only smiled mockingly, not saying anything else.
Xiaoke had been grabbed by Lin Yi earlier before, but that had been an accident- he put him down very quickly. This time, she was sticking to Lin Yi’s chest, being hugged the tightest she had ever been hugged as she smelled the manly scent of Lin Yi- she felt her heart thump faster and faster as time passed.
From a young age until now, she had never been this close to a boy before- she had never even daydreamed of any romance between her and a guy under the moonlight and all that- all she knew was to take care of the orphanage, and she never thought about love. Who would marry someone with this many burdens, unless that guy had a problem in his head?
The big families wouldn’t be interested in a thief like her, and those without a rich family wouldn’t be able to sustain an orphanage. This was why she just put aside stuff like this and protected her body- when the orphanage really needed it, and she couldn’t find a rich boyfriend, with her virgin status she could probably sell herself for a good price, right? It could solve whatever problem the orphanage had for the moment.
But, in front of the male thief, Xiaoke felt her heart move a bit- from when she was young, other than her master, nobody else had shown her care like this, let alone from a guy! Especially in the theiving industry she was in, they all just put their lives on the line. People came and go, and even if Xiaoke was pretty, nobody would care too much about that- it was all about profit and money. Pretty girls were everywhere if you had money- why bother with someone like Xiaoke?
And so, Xiaoke doing missions with thieves always resulted in her preparing herself against lies and deception- there were no emotions attached.
This male thief, however, was different- every time she found herself in danger and trouble, he’d always stand up and stick up for her. This sort of care was something she couldn’t help but notice- she didn’t know if he actually did want her the way Old Hei said it, but the bottom line was he was caring for her, and that resulted in some positive feelings for this man.
The most important thing was this familiar feeling the male thief was giving her- it was like she had seen him somewhere before, but she couldn’t remember who.
Could this be her prince charming?
Under a tense situation like this, she started thinking about all sorts of things- although, remembering that he already had a female companion made her a little frustrated. He already had a partner so he wouldn’t be able to marry her!
Of course, that wasn’t what she was worried about- what she cared about was whether or not he’d be willing to finance the orphanage? If not, then everything was a no go...
Lin Yi naturally didn’t know about all her ridiculous ideas and had only thought about everything Xiaoke had went through- otherwise he might’ve tossed her out ages ago!
After around half an hour, they were all still falling. This just showed how deep this underground palace was- they were still falling, how did people even build this in the first place?
Elder Yu was a bit impatient and worried, “Male thief, are we going to just fall into the core of the earth?”
“Oh, you can go back and shoot a movie after if that happens,” Li nYi said, not friendly at all.
This Elder Yu’s strength didn’t match his personality at all- he was scared like a mouse, terrified of death- he didn’t seem like an Earth class at all! Of course, if this had been heard by the Jin Wudi who already died, he’d probably be crying- he couldn’t be afraid of death anymore, he was already dead.
“Hmph! I just feel that there’s something wrong with this tomb!” Elder Yu hmphed and stayed quiet.
A while later, Lin Yi finally saw the end of the pit- there was a bottom after all.
The bottom of the pit was filled with razor sharp things, like a big board spiked with nails- without preparation, one who fell down would be pierced to death before they realized. Elder Yu was an Earth class though, he was tough- his life wouldn’t be in danger. He’d just get a little injured.
Lin Yi didn’t bother reminding him because of that- it’d be best if this old guy got so hurt he couldn’t even move, then it would be easier for him to take him out. He wouldn’t have to fight with him over the notes.
