290 The Gluttonous Flame Owl

Seeing this, Shen Fei did not know whether to laugh or cry. “You little rascal, you can’t be that thirsty, right? You’re actually staring at my blood and even drooling.”

“Coo, coo!” The Flame Owl looked aggrieved.

Shen Fei was helpless. He then threw the ball of red liquid to the Flame Owl and said, “Since you need this liquid so much, take it and drink it. I don’t lack it anyway.”

“Coo, coo!” The Flame Owl cried out in excitement, and swallowed it in an instant. The Flame Owl burped, then fell asleep on Shen Fei’s shoulder.

Shen Fei bitterly smiled and sighed in his heart. “This little thing is too greedy!”

The crimson liquid seemed to have noticed the Flame Owl and immediately began to wriggle toward it, trying to devour the spirit beast. The Flame Owl sensed the danger and immediately opened its mouth, swallowing the crimson liquid instead.

When the Flame Owl ate the liquid, it cooed comfortably.

“This little guy seems to be enjoying himself,” Shen Fei thought.

He felt strange as well. The red liquid was too unusual and unlike anything he had encountered, and yet the Flame Owl swallowed it without any resistance. Moreover, it seemed that the Flame Owl liked it.

This kind of situation made Shen Fei very curious. However, since the Flame Owl liked it, and seemed to be showing no adverse effects from consuming it, Shen Fei stopped wracking his brain about it.

He was still a little rattled by the strange scene. And although Shen Fei could tell that the change in his body was due to the crimson liquid, he did not know what triggered it to change him.

As usual, when a question became too complicated, Shen Fei simply stopped his ponderings and focused on something else.

As soon as he felt able, he moved his body and flew into the distance quickly, wanting to leave this area quickly.

However, a powerful fluctuation suddenly stopped him.

“What now?!” Shen Fei exclaimed. His body instantly stopped. At the same time, the air around him seemed to have become frozen.

Shen Fei raised his head and saw a huge blood-red claw ruthlessly come at him. Shen Fei’s face sank.

“What the—?” He retreated quickly while trying not to panic.

Boom!

The giant claw slammed on the ground and exploded, setting off an astonishing energy blast. The ground caved in where the giant claw struck, leaving a pit that was hundreds of feet deep. A huge crack that spanned thousands of miles also appeared.

If he was hit by this giant claw, Shen Fei would have died.

“What a terrifying attack!” He was speechless. Although he had speculated that this blood-colored giant claw was definitely not an ordinary creature, he never expected it to be so strong!

“Flame Owl, we’d better leave this place as soon as possible. We can’t afford to provoke this thing!” Shen Fei quickly said.

However, the Flame Owl simply ignored Shen Fei and continued to sleep on his shoulder. Shen Fei’s face turned black as he angrily rebuked, “Don’t tell me you’re trying to get us killed?!”

Hearing this, the Flame Owl trembled in fear, and awoke with a jolt.

“Coo, coo!” The Flame Owl cried out a few times.

Shen Fei frowned. He could not understand what the Flame Owl was saying, but he assumed that it was telling him to leave quickly. Otherwise, he would be killed by the strange blood red claw.

“What was that thing anyway? It’s so powerful!”

Shen Fei was still surprised, but he decided to temporarily give up on this thought, and turned to fly in another direction.

Not long after, Shen Fei discovered a huge canyon. The canyon was vast and the trees inside were so tall that they blocked out the sun!

In the depths of the canyon, there was a cave. At the entrance of the cave, there were two ferocious beast heads. They were staring with their bell-like eyes, vigilantly watching the surroundings to prevent other demonic beasts from approaching.

From the looks of it, this cave should be the beast den that Shen Fei had been looking for. Unless he made an error, this should be the monster’s den, and the rest of the places must be the monster’s territory!

‘Not good. The monsters here are definitely not that easy to deal with,’ Shen Fei thought in his heart.

What he was most worried about now was encountering more powerful beasts. Because of the previous battle, he had a new understanding of the magical beast. This monster’s strength was definitely very powerful!

But the den was currently at the entrance of the canyon, which meant that it had not left the canyon.

Shen Fei’s eyes focused. He knew that this time, he had no hope of escaping. He could only meet force with force.

A strange beast flew over from a distance. It was about three meters tall and had two feelers on its head. Its body was gray-brown, and its skin was dark. It was also covered in gray-brown scales.

This beast was an earth-type demonic beast. It had an extraordinary physical body with an extremely strong attribute, and was known to be immortal!

“Roar!” the beast roared at Shen Fei and dove at him.

“Flame Owl, Flaming Bramble Inferno,” Shen Fei ordered the Flame Owl, figuring that this skill would be most suited to deal with the earth-attribute demonic beast.

The Flame Owl nodded and immediately cast the skill. Brambles suddenly burst out and wrapped around the oncoming beast.

“Roar!” the strange beast let out an angry roar and suddenly waved its giant talons, trying to tear the vines apart. However, the wing behind it twisted and it almost hurt itself!

The strange beast was stunned, but it no longer paid attention to the vines and continued to focus on Shen Fei instead.

“Flame Owl, keep it up!” Shen Fei ordered, making his spirit beast use the Flaming Bramble Inferno skill again. In an instant, countless thorns wrapped densely around the enemy.

The beast howled in anger, but it was unable to break through the thorny brambles. No matter how it struggled, it was futile. In the end, the exotic beast’s body was bound tightly by the brambles. After binding it, the brambles suddenly contracted and tightened around its body.

“Screech!” The beast screamed and tried to struggle, but it was useless. The brambles were like a custom-fit straightjacket. No matter what it did, the demonic beast could not break free.

“The toughness of the brambles is too overwhelming. By now, it should be considered a divine instrument!”

Shen Fei was surprised himself. He knew that if he wanted to cut off these brambles, he would probably have to pay a heavy price. However, as long as the bramble was whole, no matter how strong the exotic beast was, it probably would not dare to act rashly.

At this time, the Flame Owl suddenly jumped up and onto the brambles, dragging the beast down.
