Chapter 126: Wolf Pack Tactics

Hearing Lin Xun’s words, Fang Song was in a daze for a moment. Then suddenly, he bitterly said, “Well, that’s my fate. I have nothing to blame you for this. But could you do me a favour?”

Lin said, “Say it.”

Fang Song begged, “Help me. I’m seriously injured and I’m almost unable to hold on. Please take me out of this swamp. It is too dangerous here. There can still be some poisonous insects or fierce beasts, and I don’t want to get eliminated yet.”

He was seriously injured and his physical strength was on the verge of exhaustion. If no one helped him, there would only be one result for him – elimination.

Lin nodded, “Ok, all right. I can carry you for some distance.”

“Thanks! Thanks a lot!” Fang Song was overjoyed.

With a smile, Lin Xun came forward, bent down and said, “Come on.”

With his back to Fang Song, Lin didn’t notice that a smug look had emerged on Fang’s face.

“Hum, Lin Xun. However sly you are, you won’t escape from my calculation!”

With a sneer, Fang Song staggered forward, as if about to fall on the ground. But he clenched a blade, ready to attack.

However, when he was only one step away from Lin Xun, Lin, who was originally squatting, suddenly bent his body and rushed heavily backwards, like a bow.

Bang!

Fang Song was shaken away before he had the time to react. He fell heavily into the stinky marshy mud, letting out a scream.

The blow was so violent that Fang Song was dazed and his bones almost fell apart. He couldn’t help but cough up blood, and roared, “Lin Xun, are you going to kill trainees of the same camp? Do you know that you will be expelled from the Bloodthirsty Camp if our drillmaster, Young Ke, knows about this?”

Lin Xun turned around and slowly walked to Fang Song. Then in a flash, Lin twisted Fang’s wrist with his right hand and clamped a shiny blade which lay between Fang’s fingers with his left hand.

All of a sudden, Fang Song’s look changed and he said in a stiff tone, “I use this blade for defence. You…Why do you take my weapon away?”

Lin Xun said with a smile, “Are you still not gonna admit it? You should intend to kill me with the blade while I came to rescue you out of kindness. Do you really think that I am foolish?”

Although Lin was smiling, his voice was full of coldness.

“What are you talking about?” Fang Song said unhappily, “Lin Xun, even if you don’t want to save me, you need not to slander me.”

“Haha, do you still think I can’t see it through?” Lin said disdainfully, “There is no rule that bans the trainees in the same camp from killing each other in this monthly test. You must have intended to take this opportunity to snatch the nameplates I have obtained. Don’t try to fool me with your little trick!”

The look on Fang Song’s face changed again, as he had not expected that Lin Xun could actually see his calculation through.

Surprised, he glared at Lin, “You…what on earth do you want to do?”

Lin Xun smiled, “Of course, I won’t do anything that will make Drillmaster Young Ke unhappy, but…now that you are already seriously injured and are unable to keep fighting, it’s hard for you to protect your nameplate. How about giving your nameplate to me instead of letting our enemies get it? We are from the same camp after all. I’ll keep it for you. If Drillmaster Young Ke knows it, she will definitely appreciate what I am about to do.”

Hearing Lin’s words, Fang shivered with fear and anger. Lin that bastard should refuse to let off him! Before he could react, Fang Song felt a sudden pain in his neck and then fainted.

“Now, you have to be in a coma for a while,” Lin sighed, reached out his hand and groped around on Fang’s body and found a nameplate.

A shrill whistle filled the air.

This was a distress signal of a trainee from Camp 39.

It was Fang Song’s whistle, which was blown by Lin Xun.

Lin left the place before the sound faded out.

Not long after, a treasure ship came and the Fatty Middle-aged jumped out. He first took a look at the pike man who was in a coma, and then had a look at Fang Song. Confusion soon showed on his face.

He glanced at all the clues and traces on the spot and then understood what had happened.

“Hey, a poor guy. Although I don’t know who’s so bad to have got you into a fix, the guy does have a guilty conscience and send a distress signal for you. Otherwise, the result can be unimaginable when the pike guy wakes up.”

With a giggle, the Fatty Middle-aged took Fang Song by his hand and returned back to the treasure ship.

At the same time, in one other area of the Scorpion Ridge.

It was a damp forest. Abruptly, a roar like thunder arose, with many trees fell down soon afterwards.

All of this was the work of a stalwart juvenile, Ning Meng.

He dashed around madly all the way, with thunder flowing all over his body and his eyes glaring like the sun. As if possessed by Thor, he emitted murderous momentum which was terrifying.

He had just finished a fierce battle, rendering numerous bones of his opponent broken and the opponent near to death on the spot.

By the fighting, he won the third nameplate.

“Shit! There’re just a group of trash in Camp 40, without a single one worth fighting.”

Ning Meng cursed in his heart while running wildly.

He suddenly stopped not long after, staring afield with his lightning-like eyes. Two men and a woman were rushing swiftly towards him in a triangular battle array, namely with one in front and the other two behind.

The one ahead was a vigorous and valiant girl with a ponytail, and Ning Meng had already known her –Lei Shinyue. She cultivated a special martial art known as “Gang-thunder Swordplay”, which was of the same attribute of “Thunder” as “Thunder Power from All Directions” that Ning Meng cultivated.

The two men behind her were unknown to Ning, but they were surely both trainees from Camp 40.

Whoever faced such a situation that three people would launch attacks together, the subconscious decision was to withdraw at first to avoid its edge.

But Ning Meng did not retreat. Highly excited, he muttered, with strong enthusiasm for fighting burning all around his body, “Hope this one doesn’t disappoint me again…”

At the same time, Lei Shinyue also looked over, and apparently recognized Ning Meng. The flaming intention to fight suddenly showed on her face.

In an instant, the atmosphere grew tense and the battle might be triggered at any moment.

In another area of the Scorpion Ridge.

Shi Yu skimmed over at full speed which was unthinkably fast, maintaining a degage demeanour.

It was one enigmatic body-lightness skill known as “Swift Steps Going after Stars”.

However, even with the use of this skill, Shi Yu felt no less pressure at the moment and frowned all the time. Nearly one hundred meters behind him closely followed a person.

“Damn it! Have I been targeted by this guy?”

Shi Yu felt depressed.

The guy who was chasing Shi was exactly Gong Ming, an opponent who Shi Yu wouldn’t like to encounter.

But beyond his expectation, Shi Yu ran into Gong Ming at the very beginning of the first monthly assessment when he was just preparing to show his capabilities.

Gong Ming looked very ordinary, but he was pretty tough to deal with because the “Nine Ghostdoms Body-defence Cudgel (NGBC)” he cultivated was a kind of awesome defensive art. Shi Yu was afraid of that, but he was very clear that once he tangled with Gong Ming, it would inevitably take a lot of time and energy. He was definitely not willing to waste time on such people.

But Shi Yu had never thought that from the time Gong Ming aimed at him, he had been tightly chased by Gong and couldn’t get rid of Gong.

“Gong Ming, are you really gonna do this? Don’t forget that it will be bad for both of us if we don’t get enough nameplates.”

Shi Yu couldn’t help but speak out.

“It’s enough for me to defeat you.”

Gong Ming’s answer was very simple, but the obvious stubbornness really irritated Shi Yu. How annoying he was!

“Gong Ming, I come to help you!” There came a sound from the distance. Along with the sound, a person was rushing towards Shi Yu, just right blocking Shi’s path.

“Oh, man. Finally, there is no way to dump him…”

Shi Yu gave a sigh and suddenly stopped, with a touch of coldness flashing across his eyes. In no time he had clenched a pair of short bronze maces.

Scenes like that Ning Meng and Shi Yu had been involved in occurred almost in every corner of the Scorpion Ridge. Fierce competition went on everywhere.

In addition to face-to-face combats, there went on unexpected attacks, sneaky traps and endless calculation.

The trainees who could participate in the test were all elites who had successfully finished a month’s cruel training. Thus, there were no weak ones.

You shouldn’t be blinded by the fact that they were teenagers. When it came to fighting skills and wits, maybe even some experienced adult practitioners lagged far behind them.

Not far from the Scorpion Ridge, a temporary camp was stationed.

The camp was divided into halves, one occupied by Camp 39 while the other part occupied by Camp 40.

Young Ke sat uprightly in the tent. In her palm laid a delicate compass on whose surface dense luminous spiritual tattoos were engraved, creating a light curtain in the air.

This was called “Spiritual Projector”, a unique spiritual weapon which consisted of a set of devices. Now, spiritual projectors were installed in every region of the Scorpion Ridge.

The scenes reflected in those spiritual projectors would all be sent back to the host spiritual projector on Ke’s palm, which allowed her to see clearly what was going on in the Scorpion Ridge.

More than one hour had passed for the monthly assessment, with only over four hours left.

Up to now, five people from Camp 39 had already been eliminated while nine people of Camp 40 had been eliminated.

It seemed that Camp 39 had held preponderance, but Young Ke was still not happy. The performance of Camp 39 had not come up to her expectations.

What worried her the most was that the situation in the Scorpion Ridge was gradually turning disadvantageous to trainees from Camp 39!

“Is Residual Wolf going to carry out the ‘Wolf-pack Tactics’ to the extreme? It seems that in order to prevent his camp from being dissolved, he has forgotten the real purpose of training these trainees!” Young Ke murmured, with a touch of hidden coldness surging inside her eyes.

In the temporary base of Camp 40.

Stroking his chin, Residual Wolf stared at the spiritual projector in his hand. A dreadful curve crept up around his lips, “Ke, you should be clear that the members of a wolf pack will never act alone…”
