Chapter 29: Rich as fuck
<Congratulations! Having defeated five hundred living beings through an indirect mean, you have fulfilled a condition set by the Northern Duke of Dark Starlight to obtain additional rewards>
<You’ve earned the right to use the Authority of Life to Extract a small portion of the essences of life from everyone you’ve defeated indirectly!>
<You’ve gained the right to use God’s Breath Manipulation in the Virtual Game World, The Magic Coliseum>
Magician Elliot’s body trembles out of happiness and joy as his eyes widen into complete circles.
He could use his supernatural powers to extract a small portion of the essence of life from several hundred people meaning he will be earning a lot of it with just two words. Although he could only get a small portion out of all the people he defeated in an indirect way, once stacked up together, Elliot was sure that would earn a pretty big amount.
But this wasn’t all!
He can now also use his overpowered ability in the magic coliseum meaning he could finally fight others in the magical realm without fearing getting his ass handed over to him by others.
“I use my authority as the owner of life to extract life from the ones I defeated, indirectly,” Elliot uttered in his mind as he smiles with a look of anticipation on his face.
<You’ve extracted a small and unharmful portion from several hundred living beings that you’ve defeated in an indirect manner>
<You’ve obtained 650 units of the essence of life>
A notification sounded in his mind, telling him that he has earned 650 units of the most precious energy for all living beings. He now had a total of 1000 units of the essence of life. He could easily level up to the next level of the magical realm evolutionary stage. He only needed to use 200 out of his 1000 units of the essence of life to reach level 4. Elliot thought about it for a moment and decided to use one-fifth of his large amount of the essence of life to level up.
Just as he was about to command the artifact in his mind to help him level up, Theo’s voice sounded in his ears.
“What’s wrong?” Theo asked, looking at Elliot and wondering why he isn’t coming out of the virtual cabin. Is he struck or is he in a daze?
They were logged out of the magic coliseum as their gladiator time has run out. They have also reached the maximum gaming limit for today and couldn’t play for more even if they wanted to as they wouldn’t be allowed to do so by the man at the counter.
“Eh, nothing,” Elliot said, pushing himself out of the comfort of the virtual cabin in a hurry.
“What should we do now?” Theo asked, feeling full of energy and wanting to use it to have some fun instead of heading back to the boring dormitory to take a rest or the library to read tasteless and senseless books.
“I’m feeling rather hungry,” John said, rubbing his stomach.
“Then, let’s grab a drink and some of our favorite items from the counter. Come on!” Elliot said to them as he walked towards the counter.
“Well, that does sound like a good idea.”
The two followed in tow, stepping up to the counter. They sat down on the round chairs near the table before ordering a few of their favorite items from Frankie, intending to eat them the moment they are served to them.
While they were busing themselves with food and stuffing some of the world’s nicest and delicious fast foods, Lisa Charlotte came next to them and sat a few chairs behind Elliot. They didn’t notice her as she was wearing a hoodie to cover her face. Her long, slender legs were revealed for the world to see as she was wearing shorts and tennis shoes She has been stalking Elliot for hours. Her eyes couldn’t stop blinking as she looked at him.
“He won ten times in a row. Unbelievable! There’s next to zero probability of that happening to a person entering the magic coliseum for the first time in his life.”
The act Elliot performed was too shocking, to say the least, and struck her mind like billowing waves.
“Did he cheat?”
Lisa Charlotte wondered whether or not he cheated, and a moment later, she shook her head, shrugging such a foolish thought of her mind.
“There’s no way for him to cheat as the game is created using technology that someone like him could’ve never came across. That only leaves me with two answers. He has an ability that either allows him to predict the future or determine a person’s strength! Well, nothing less expected of the man I want to marry and have a baby with.”
She was right on the mark but not too sure herself.
Though she knew one thing. And that was the fact that she wanted Elliot’s love. For that reason, she needs to impress him somehow so that’ll be attracted to her.
“What should I do?” She said in her mind, bitting her thumb, sitting crossed-leg on the chair, thinking too hard about what she should do to gain his affection.
Lisa wondered whether her status as a manager of the magic coliseum will impress him, but decided against it. She understood that he won’t be enticed by money or status. He could easily earn money by gambling only, so money wouldn’t be able to entice him. Similarly, if status could entice him into becoming her husband then it would have already.
What should I do?, Lisa thought.
The group of three friends stopped eating once they felt full and headed towards the dormitory as they didn’t have anything else to do today. They walked on a stone-paved path for a few minutes before they reached the boy’s dormitory for first-year students.
“See ya guys later!”
John Crimson split up from them, entering his own dorm room.
“Give me your quantum card for a second,” Theo said to Elliot after they entered their living quarters.
“For what reason?” Elliot’s eyebrow raised.
“I’ve thought hard and long about it and have decided to hand over half of our earnings to you,” Theo said, telling him about the reason why he needed his quantum card.
“Are you serious?” Elliot asked as he looked at Theo in shock.
“Yeah. I earned it all because of you. So, don’t deny accepting half of it. If you refuse, you’ll make me feel bad for taking advantage of you.” Theo said.
“Then, don’t mind if I do,” Elliot said with a smile, handing over his quantum card to Theo.
Theo scanned the magic code at the back of Elliot’s card before transferring more than a thousand magic coins to Elliot’s online bank account.
“Here you go,” Theo said, returning the quantum card back to Elliot.
Elliot accepted it with a smile. He now has more than 3000 magic coins.
“Let’s level up.” He said in his mind after sitting down on the bed.
