Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 186: I be your Contradiction!

Chapter 186: I be your Contradiction!

The bone bracelets were magical items that connected to the treasury of the evil organization. No matter how far a serpentine devil was from the treasury, by pouring demonic energy into their bone bracelet, they could gain access to the treasury and take out things that were equal to their ranks or authorized by their superior.

As their demonic energy entered their bone bracelets, a bow and an arrow suddenly appeared in front of them, hovering in mid-air, releasing a heavy pressure, causing the air to ripple continuously.

“Damn, this is heavy.” The serpentine devils grabbed them in their hands, and some of them staggered because of the sheer weight of their weapons.

When Elliot glanced at them, he immediately found out that they were weapons meant to slaughter magicians up to the peak of the channel opened stage. One was enough to break through all defense and kill a magician. A thousand was enough to kill a thousand magicians! Yet, he appeared as calm as ever, almost as if he was born a lake, one without any waves. On the other hand, Lucy, Oliver, and the other magicians belonging to the magician families appeared restless, their backs drenched in sweat. Having a thousand glistening arrows tips pointed in one’s direction was enough to break their calm and cause them to enter a state of hysteria. They were no different as they were merely plants in a garden, not men waging wars and bathing in blood!

Sweat poured out of their forehead, and an extremely tense expression colored their face, signifying how horrified they were, that they were almost on the verge of breaking.

“Aim!” Benjamin’s filthy voice sounded out, causing their nerves and tighten and their bodies to stiffen.

Following his command, a thousand devils fitted the arrows in their black bow, then pulled back the bowstrings, their muscles bulging as they gave their all to do so, their weapons aimed in Elliot’s direction.

“Release the intermediate-grade magicians slaying arrows,” Benjamin commanded.

Twang!

Following his orders, the cultists let go of their grip on the bowstring. Bam!

“Swoosh!”

“Swoosh!”

“Swoosh!”

A thousand arrows blasted through the air, moving with such speed that they cut through the wind, whistling sounds echoing as they charged towards Elliot and the ones beside him.

‘Is this the end?’

‘Is this how I die?!’

‘Why didn’t I stay behind? Why had I foolishly followed after him?! Ugh, I regret my decision.”

“Why didn’t I ditch Elliot?”

The eyes of Lucy, Oliver, and the others widened, traces of fear vivid in them. There were so many that they blinded their visions. The only things that they could see were the tip of the arrows, ones that signified their approaching death. Honestly, they believed that the chance of surviving this onslaught was zero to none. After all, they could neither run out of their way nor did they have enough strength to deflect them. From the expressions on their faces, it was easy to tell that they had given up, believing that this was the end of the line for them.

“Yawn~”

A lazy moan filled with disappointment sounded from beside them. Elliot stretched, wiping the tiredness away from his body, not giving a damn about the thousand incoming arrows. His attitude put off the onlookers. ‘Shouldn’t he be pissed scared? Why the heck is he acting so carefree? Maybe he had gone crazy? Haha, that must be it!’

When the arrows reached extremely close to them, Elliot lazily pictured something horrifying in his mind, a golden current flashing across his eyes.

[20000 units of the essence of life had been used to manifest your thoughts into reality!]

In the very next instant, golden waves of brilliant radiance burst out of his body, rolling outwards, appearing no different than a tsunami capable of wreaking havoc on an entire port city. Without any resistance, the golden waves smashed apart the incoming thousand arrows, wooden splinters bursting outwards, getting submerged into gigantic waves along with metalheads. It was as if a volcano had exploded and released waves of lava that melted everything in their paths!

[+20000 units of essence of life]

Elliot reabsorbed the waves back into his body, doing so in the blink of an eye. In the eyes of the onlooker, it was as if a sheet of light had appeared out of nowhere and devoured the thousand of arrows.

Simply Inconceivable!

“W-what?!” Benjamin’s eyes widened like saucers, unable to make sense of the situation! It wasn’t just him as the people beside him had an equally bewildered expression on their faces, their gaping mouths almost threatened to drop to touch the ground.

“A thousand arrows that could take down an army of magicians vanished just like that?! Am I in a dream?! Hey, man, pinch me.”

“Alright.”

“Ouch!”

“This isn’t a dream!”

“Mother Hen! Who the hell is that person?!”

“Bravo! Check his power level!” Benjamin shouted, a hysterical expression on his face.

Bravo’s black eyes instantly turned grey, and then his gaze landed on Elliot. A single blue line appeared in his mind.

“Level 1 of the channel opening stage.” He revealed Elliot’s evolutionary stage to his immediate superior with trembling lips. His words came as quite a shock to Benjamin and everyone who heard it.

“Are you telling me that a brat who hadn’t even formed a circuit managed to thwart an attack that could kill a thousand magicians in the same power level as him?! How does that even make sense? Are you fucking with me?!” Benjamin shouted, almost screaming like a madly abused banshee.

“I’m sure of it!”

“I think it’s the work of his superpower! As long as we keep on attacking him, he would eventually run out of his magic energy. Once that happens, he will be no different than a pig at the mercy of our blade.” One of Benjamin’s advisors said.

“Then, let’s do that.”

Benjamin ordered the thousand serpentine devils to launch another volley of arrows towards Elliot.
