Chapter 138: Flight!
The moment Elliot opened his mouth, the spiritual energy in the surrounding areas moved towards him, almost as if attracted by an invisible suction force.
<You’ve used the Art of Stealing From Heaven>
<Proficiency: 1/100 (Level 1)>
“Is this the power of the northern duke’s cultivation method?” Elliot wordlessly stood nearby a tree with a surprised look on his face.
He was gawking at the streams of milky white energy flowing in the air like waves of water and swiftly moving towards him, coming from all sides.
He could tell that these streams of energy were the condensed form of spiritual energy, and they were moving towards him because he was utilizing the Art of Stealing From Heaven.
One of the many streams of spiritual energy reached him and entered his mouth. His eyes widened in pleasant surprise. He felt as if he was eating melon with honey on top of it! The softness and sweetness of the spiritual energy were comparable to Lisa’s sweet tongue, making him reminisce about the time he kissed her deep and hard.
A sigh escaped his mouth.
Just thinking about her made him happy but also sad.
He looked ahead while lost in thoughts.
She wasn’t here with him, and he was all alone.
How long has it been since he was alone?
Nearly 2 months!
For around two months, that crazy woman, who always does her best to understand him, had followed him everywhere as if she was his tail.
Her actions had left a mark on his heart, a seed of love and attraction!
He missed her companionship.
Of course, he knew that he couldn’t get to her, not before finishing the trials, exploring this settlement, looting artifacts, and winning the bet. So what’s the use of thinking about her now?
With a heavy sigh, he kicked all disturbing thoughts out of his mind and focused only on the energy moving into his body.
It traveled down his spines, took a trip around his body, and then finally entered his heart, nestling at its center.
<+10 Spiritual Energy!>
<Spiritual Energy: 10/100>
Immediately, notifications popped up in his mind.
He smiled after taking a look at them. The method he learned was working as intended!
He kept his mouth open and swallowed another stream of spiritual energy.
Since he could store ninety more units of spiritual energy, he didn’t stop utilizing the art of Stealing from Heaven.
<+10 Spiritual Energy>
<+20 Spiritual Energy>
<+30 Spiritual Energy>
“…”
Elliot almost believed that he was a black hole at this moment!
However, he knew that he was one with limited capacity and couldn’t store more than a hundred units of spiritual energy in his heart, or else he would explode into a mess of flesh and blood!
Thus, he decided to stop after reaching his limits, a total of hundred units of spiritual energy.
<Spiritual Energy: 100/100> Some moment later, a notification popped up in his mind, telling him that he had reached his limits.
He could feel a first-sized milky white ball within his heart and also knew that any more than that would endanger his life. Thus, he used the fastest and easiest way of stopping himself from stealing from heaven, closing his mouth.
The moment he did so, the streams of energy in the air vanished.
“With spiritual energy in my body, I can finally try out the power of my spirit magic matrix!”
Elliot channeled spiritual energy into the wing-like marks on his palm. It was easy to control the flow of spiritual energy as it was almost like breathing. He didn’t need others to tell him, and neither did he need to train to control it. The spiritual energy seeped out of his heart, entered his blood vessels, and moved towards his palm.
<-50 spiritual energy>
A moment later, the marks of his palms brightened in a milky glow. Immediately after, energy surged out of his back, taking the form of a pair of wings with countless white and shiny feathers.
He decided to fly towards the dead spirit tree to retrieve his golden arrow, obtain the treasure inside its body, and also test how good he was at flying.
He had never flown before and didn’t know how to do it, but by mimicking the way birds flap their wings and moving the wings on his back up and down, he charged towards the clouds.
In a matter of moments, he found himself high above the ground.
He was standing above a solitary cloud, and when he looked down, the trees seemed like thin pins sticking out of the ground. “Holy Moly! If I fell from such a height, I would die a dog’s death!”
He stopped flapping his wings as he wanted to go downwards. Immediately after, he fell towards the ground at an incredible speed. He twisted his body, took a spin to face the ground before opening his wings wide.
The speed at which he was descending slowed down considerably as the upward winds crashed on his wings.
He performed a few more tricks in mid-air, from going in circles like a nut head to swirling around as if he was fish in the ocean.
Several minutes later, once he felt satisfied and didn’t have the will to keep on flying, he landed on the spot next to the remains of what used to be the spirit tree.
He could see his golden arrow stuck in the center of a tree that was a few steps away from him. He went up to it, took a leap, grabbed the arrow, and yanked it out. After landing on the ground, he absorbed it into his body.
Then, he focused on collecting the treasure that was the body of the spirit tree!
A part of its body was jutting out of the ground while the rest of its remains were scattered here, there, all over the place.
He walked up to the lower body of the spirit tree and saw golden liquid secreting out of it.
