So yeah... All this stuff did avert my attention from the main goal, but it didn't stop me from actually dropping the idea completely. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me refresh your memory - Aaraam'soturi. The city flying somewhere up there.
Before I focused on the goal again, I dropped Luis Martinez in Arc. People found him, but the days spent in the Void made him completely crazy. He couldn't speak, he was drooling and defecating without any control. All that left his mouth was some mumble.
Maybe killing him would be less of a punishment, but I actually wanted to leave a statement. Quite cruel of me, but I thought it was necessary.
Then I focused on Loistavadvaar in my preparation to get stronger before the crazy assault on the flying capital I was planning to do.
After a few long days of chasing after ghosts, with brief pauses to actually kill some of them after I finally found some, I bought myself a shiny new upgrade, the 'Legendary Dreadnought' class evolution.
It gave me access to the following skills: 'Legendary strength', 'Legendary endurance', 'Toughness IV', 'Vitality IV', 'Natural armor III', 'Unbleeding III', 'Relentless III', 'Regeneration II', 'Indomitable', 'Legendary life force', 'Unstoppable'.
The first thing I noticed was that there was no longer 'Immortal' on the list. Well, I guess I couldn't be more immortal than I already was.
The 'Indomitable' skill, despite the name, had nothing to do with subduing or defeating. It worked quite similarly to how the adrenaline in normal humans does, with a slight change. I was able to tap into it whenever I wanted. It fueled my body with a short burst of additional energy, making me way stronger for a couple of seconds. A small disclaimer, by 'way stronger' I actually mean it. It could easily double my power.
The 'Legendary life force' basically turned my blood into a panacea. My antibodies were now so strong that whoever would receive that blood would be cured of any virus or bacteria. It also had a side effect. It would turn any blood into my type in a quick, but very painful battle including drastic changes to the body of whoever would receive the blood. To tell you the truth, It could probably do a lot more than that based on how strong I already was.
The 'Unstoppable' skill, also had a little confusing name. It had a lot more to do with magical restraints than physical ones. It granted me additional resistance to all the curses, including the ones siphoning my life energy.
I upgraded all of those skills to the tenth level. I still had some points, but since it wasn't enough to go for all the skills, I just saved the remaining points, and to that later when I would have enough.
The upgrades made me start to think heavier about my stupid idea of invading that mysterious flying city. Unfortunately, there was one more interruption.
It happened two days later. The two long days spent, chasing the ghosts but without any luck of actually finding any. I was cooking dinner, thinking about changing my hunting ground, because it awfully looked like I cleared that damn place. Suddenly I got a visit from Tihana, Carmelita, John, and Leonel.
It was as clear as day that they all wanted something from me.
- Can we talk, father? - Tihana asked.
- Sure - I told them, focused on the cooking.
I was frying some vegetables with bits of chicken breast and some mushrooms.
- It's important... It's important for us, so could you stop for a moment? - she asked me.
This made me turn around while I summoned a single shadow to take over.
- Yes. I can - I told her.
- We want the seed - Tihana said with no beating around the bush.
- You want what? - my eyes went wide.
I felt like she just punched me in the face, without actually even touching me.
- We want the seed. We want to plant a new city. You can have the fruit after we grew the sapling into a tree - she elaborated.
- We all want to get stronger, dad - Leonel added.
- Why? How did you even come to this idea? - I asked, still a bit surprised.
I even leaned on the cabinets behind me to get additional support, as I suddenly felt that my legs got weaker.
- It was my idea - Tihana said. - I was discussing it with John when Leonel overheard us. He wanted to join. We decided to tell Carmelita to, in case she would want to come with us. It's not like we would be permanently leaving. You can go back and forth with ease.
- And where would you even plant this? - I asked.
- The same planet as Petrograd - he answered without even thinking.
She already thought this all through.
- I would tell you to ask your mother, but I guess you are already too old to be sent back and forth between us - I sighed heavily, then I nodded. - Ok. Just go and speak with her first.
They left without hesitation.
I didn't agree because I liked the idea. I actually agreed with Aaraam'soturi still in my mind. If I were to unless hell, they would be safer in a different world. It was a blessing in disguise they came up with that idea. Now I just needed to somehow make Celestine company them, at least for a while.
Too bad I had no idea how to achieve that.
With my head full of thoughts, I got back to cooking, sending the shadow away. That idiot actually almost burned the food. It was too long on that damn frying pan, but I saved it before it became inedible.
I couldn't even blame him, or myself for putting a mindless creature to work, because my mind was somewhere else. Trying to find a way for my stupid plan to actually somehow work.
I knew it was a stupid idea to go there, and yet I couldn't stop myself from thinking about that place. It felt like it was calling me.
