“Hmph?” Shuichi’s right eyebrow shot up as he pressed the tip of his katana against Hanako’s spine. He could puncture her body whenever he wanted.

Mami had also instantaneously bolted right next to Hanako. With one arm leaning against the door, she stared straight into Hanako’s eyes, with a look of suspicion.

“D*mn it,” Hanako cursed in her mind, “Is this guy r*traded?”

Before she could react to it, Zhao Yao had already stretched his head through the gap and looked at Hanako before asking, “Are you sure you do not require my help? I have helped many people in the past and my success rate has been a perfect 100% till today.”

The group of three froze when they saw Zhao Yao head suddenly jutting through the gap between the doors.

“Oh, I didn’t know that there were more people at home. I thought all that noise came from the television.” Zhao Yao simply stared at the three people rooted to the ground and noticed the three golden exclamation marks floating above their heads. A glimmer of light flashed across his eyes as he thought, “Nice! Time to earn some experience points!”

However, Hanako had already shut her eyes for fear of what was about to happen, “He’s so stupid!”

A smile crept up Shuichi’s lips as he sneered, “Are you courting death?” As he spoke, he had already stretched his right arm towards Zhao Yao’s neck. His plan was to grab Zhao Yao in before taking care of him. He did not want to disturb the neighbors or make a mess outside.

However, not only did Shuichi fail to grab onto Zhao Yao, he even felt a strong and invisible force repelling his arm. Next, the force field started to tremor. Shuichi’s deafening scream punctured the silence as he took a few steps back. His arm had swelled beyond recognition and it was evident that it was fractured.

“Why did you try to attack me?” Zhao Yao asked with both brows raised, “Are you sure you really do not need my help?”

“An apostle!” Mami’s eyes widened as she pointed her fingers straight at Zhao Yao. Five bursts of flames shot through each of her fingers and they came charging towards Zhao Yao. The flame was so intense and bright that it lit up the entire corridor. She was not letting Zhao Yao escape unscathed.

With his heightened sensory skills from “Three is better than two”, he could even observe the flame charging towards him in slow motion as he frowned. With a gentle flick of his finger, his deflective field exploded into ripples and extinguished the flames by altering the atmospheric pressure.

“What!” Anger swept across Mami’s face when she saw how easily Zhao Yao counted her attack. A vein popped out in her neck and she was bent on killing Zhao Yao.

“Pulsating Dragon Wave!”

She firmly clasped her palms together before releasing them. A fierce and intense fire erupted in her palm, sending surges of heat waves into the surroundings. It was a fireball the size of a watermelon and was about to burn down the apartment in flames. Sweat beaded Zhao Yao’s forehead as he acutely felt the effects of the fire.

“No!” Hanako screamed at the top of her lungs as she reached out her arm in a futile attempt to stop Mami.

Zhao Yao was unfazed by this incredible scene. He simply clasped his palms together which triggered a deafening screech. Instantaneously, an invisible force had already encapsulated the fireball and it extinguished the flames within seconds.

“You!” Fear crossed her eyes at Mami stared at Zhao Yao in shock. Zhao Yao had already sent her flying off before she could utter a word. She crashed into the wall with a loud thud and fell unconscious on the ground.

“B*stard!”

With his katana in hand, Shuichi charged towards Zhao Yao. His katana cut through the air particles at such a great speed that it left behind a trail of ear-shattering screeches.

“Heaven Splitting Strike!”

“Haish, why can’t they just talk instead of resorting to violence ...” Zhao Yao nonchalantly raised his index finger and managed to absorb the entire impact from Shuichi’s blow, “I’m just trying to help all of you. Can you stop trying to kill me with all your attacks?”

After finishing his statement, Zhao Yao once again flicked his finger and sent Shuichi flying off. He collided with the furniture in the far corner of the room and was writhing in pain.

By incorporating the power of his deflective field in his attack, Zhao Yao had managed to break at least five or six bones of Shuichi, rendering him incapable of retaliating.

“You Japanese really like to exaggerate. A small fire like that and you named it Pulsating Dragon Wave. You even named such a futile attack Heaven Splitting Strike. I think you’ve watched too much anime for your own good.” Zhao Yao could not help but think about how Japanese media loved to give Chinese table tennis players over the top monikers.

“Table tennis empire, The strongest player on the surface of Earth, The empire’s terminator, The empire’s jewel ....”

“You Japanese really love to exaggerate!” Zhao Yao curled his lips in disgust before his forehead furrowed together, “Oh, d*mn it! Why did the mission disappear?”

He took a glance at Hanako and realized that the golden exclamation had vanished into thin air.

All that was left was Hanako who was beaming from ear to ear. With her strong Japanese accent, Hanako thanked Zhao Yao, “Thank you so much for your help. I will never forget your kindness!”

“D*mn it! This means you are not a part of them which means that I’ve already saved you. I’ve saved you before I took this mission.” Zhao Yao simmered with anger and exclaimed, “Didn’t I ask you whether you required any help? Why didn’t you say so at the start?”

Hanako was stunned by Zhao Yao’s response and tried her best to explain, “That’s because Shuichi threatened me to not ask for help from you. I’m sorry. This is all my fault.” Immediately, she bowed down in apology.

“Alright, alright, stop bowing.” Zhao Yao gave a dismissive wave of his hand to signal her to stop. Disappointment sagged through him.

At this moment, Shuichi who was lying on the floor struggled to get on his feet. His every muscle tensed as he glared at Zhao Yao and exclaimed, “Storm organization will hunt you down!”

“So that’s your organization’s name? I had no idea that people still bother having such lame names nowadays.” Zhao Yao glanced at Shuichi before breaking down into waves of laughter. He pranced towards him before squatting next to him, “Brother, I think you are quite heavily injured and it doesn’t look good. Do you have any death wish that I could help you with?”

Zhao Yao’s eyes beamed with excitement when he noticed the golden exclamation mark floating above his head.

Shuichi mustered his remaining strength and spat on Zhao Yao’s face. Because of Zhao Yao’s deflective field, his spit bounced against Zhao Yao before landing on his own face.

He was dazed by what happened, but Shuichi trembled with fury when he saw Zhao Yao squatting there smugly, “Stop playing tricks on me, you Chinese man! I’m not going to fall for it!”

Zhao Yao squinted his eyes into a line and asked, “Are you sure you do not need my help?”

“Hmph,” Shuichi rose his eyebrows in defiance and would not make eye contact with Zhao Yao.

Zhao Yao was helpless and instantaneously disappeared from their sight. Actually, he had escaped to a corner of the apartment during time freeze and entered his extradimensional belly to call on Dust Ball.

Dust Ball was connected to the extradimensional belly 24/7. Unlike Zhao Yao, she could detect the situation inside it without switching to this power.

After shouting for Dust Ball, she finally appeared in front of Zhao Yao, albeit slightly unwillingly. She moaned, “What do you want?” A smile crept up her face when she noticed the gang of cats lying unconsciously on the ground from Zhao Yao’s illusion.

Zhao Yao just reached his arm out and grabbed Dust Ball by the neck, “Come with me, I need your help.” With Dust Ball in his hand, he reappeared in Hanako’s apartment.

In Hanako and Shuichi’s eyes, he simply disappeared before appearing instantly. This time, he had a black cat in his hand.

“Since you said that you don’t need my help, I’ll have to resort to this.” Zhao Yao sniggered, “Dust Ball, vomit the shit from your body!”
