"It was already consumed by the Drought Worms, no need to search for his body…" The woman said with a confident tone.
"Let's go search for other clues instead…" she added.
The other three nodded their heads vigorously hearing her orders.
They no longer waste any more time remaining there as they move ahead, following the tracks of what seemed like a person's footsteps from the sands. There were three of them so they assumed that it came from the Dark Guild member who sent the distress signal earlier and his two other companions. There were also small footsteps that might have come from one of their Summons.
They followed it closely and after a couple of minutes, they saw a messy area with dried blood all over it. They inspected the area and the woman analyzed that some sort of minor battle must have occurred here as well.
The others nodded their heads as they agreed with the woman.
They could not help but have sweats rolling down their backs thinking about the situation here before. With how bloody the scene was, the fight must have been so intense.
They moved again and followed two sets of messy and hurried footsteps that the woman assumed something from a quadrupedal Beast that might have been pursuing the group.
After half an hour, they saw another area, more bloody and more gruesome than the one earlier.
This time, the woman no longer provided input about the scene, instead, she immediately ordered her Mount turn around and return to the city immediately.
…
It was already past 2 o'clock when Leon and Belle arrived at the entrance of Eagle City.
If Ban did not propose the idea of Belle riding the Rogue Red Termite, he estimated that they might still haven't reached halfway through their destination by now with all the rest and stops they will be doing.
Before they arrived near the city, Ban also made sure that he stored the Rogue Red Termite again on the Beast Tattoo. He does not want others seeing him with a Summon like that, Belle alone was enough to witness it.
Belle's Red Falcon had already woken up right before they arrived at the city's entrance. Belle could not help but be more astounded with Leon's means, after seeing that her Red Falcon had actually become lively again even though it still had the bandage present on its broken wing. She could not help but think highly of him even more.
Even though they also got another batch of free energy recovery from killing the Rattlesnake, Eva has still grown tired of being in her combat form for a long period of time. So while they were traveling, Ban also let her rest on the Beast Tattoo and only when they arrived at the entrance did he let her out again.
"Let's go to the Adventurers Guild…" Ban said as he waved his hands towards an approaching carriage.
'Coincidentally', it was actually George and his Swift Snail Monster.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Leon…" George said with a smile hanging on his face.
He noticed Belle right beside him and he could not help but be surprised inwardly about her. He did not expect the Guard Commander's daughter to be as small as what the rumors said. He also heard of the fiery temper of the Guard Commander's daughter so he immediately adjusted himself in order to not offend her.
He got off his carriage and bowed his head immediately towards her direction, as if paying respects to a noble.
"Take us to the Adventurers Guild…" Belle said with an authoritative tone. She did not know how this carriage driver knew Leon, but she certainly did not like his attitude towards Leon.
It almost looked like they were very close. She didn't know why but she just felt irritated when thinking about him being close to Leon, especially with that smile he was giving off.
George nodded his head towards them before turning around to hop off atop his carriage again.
Belle and Leon followed right behind him as they settled themselves in the carriage's passenger cabin.
The passenger cabin was close and away from the eyes of the passerby. A window and a door were present on both sides but they were also sealed due to the curtains present inside. A small window was also present in front of the passenger cabin, it was the window that could let them communicate with the carriage driver if the passenger wanted to.
Obviously, Belle thought that they no longer needed that window as she had already instructed the carriage driver earlier.
And so, before they could sit down, she ordered her Red Falcon to go over and close the curtain to cover that window. The Red Falcon followed her order immediately and it could only hop towards the curtain as its wing was still broken.
George was taken aback by that action as he was also actually hoping to talk with Leon while driving, just like usual. But it seems that it was no longer possible, especially after he saw Belle's dagger-like eyes being directed to him.
George could only sigh as he ordered his Swift Snail to move towards the Adventurers Guild quickly, who knows what the Guard Commander's daughter will do if they didn't arrive quickly.
Meanwhile, inside the passenger cabin, Belle was sitting right beside Ban. There was only a foot distance between them and Belle was considering if she should move closer. However, she was kind of nervous as she didn't know how Leon would react to it.
The passenger cabin was so silent that they could even hear the Red Falcon plucking its feathers around its broken wings.
Belle wants to break the silence but no words would come out of her mouth due to her feeling nervous, thinking about how she and Leon were in the same room without anyone aside from their Summons.
And just as she finally got the courage and was about to ask Leon about something, Leon actually beat her to it.
