All Things Are Contracts

Chapter 262: Lets End This Quickly

Without much fanfare, time passed quickly. Zhanyue was now standing in the arena. His opponent was an astonishingly large fat man. The fat man wore custom-made iron armor and wielded dual axes. Just standing there, he looked like a small mountain.

“Today, we have a new friend in our arena, codenamed ‘Moon Cutter’. He’s tall, wearing a black robe, and doesn’t show his face. Very mysterious. Let’s see if he’s really skilled or just pretending to be mysterious. His opponent this time is the fighter known as ‘Meat Mountain’, Lei Tong. His weight plus his armor exceeds a thousand jin, and many opponents have died under his deadly charge.”

Old Bug watched nervously from below. He didn’t expect the random opponent to be Meat Mountain. Although he had confidence in Zhanyue’s strength, the pressure from that Meat Mountain was overwhelming.

Meat Mountain moved, each step causing tremors. His body wasn’t all fat; there was a lot of solid muscle too. So although he was fat, he was also incredibly strong. Soon, his speed increased, and he charged like a mad bull.

Zhanyue watched him charge with boredom, considering what level of skill he should display to attract attention from above without being too shocking.

Zhanyue side-stepped and slid down, extending one leg. The charging Meat Mountain directly tripped and fell forward, face-planting.

“Good, very agile moves.” Seeing such a large body fall so simply surprised everyone.

“I’ll chop you up!” Meat Mountain stood up angrily, wielding his dual axes and charging again. This time, his speed was much slower, planning to get close and chop his enemy into mincemeat.

An axe swung down, the terrifying force making the arena tremble, but it couldn’t even touch a corner of Zhanyue. This scene was quite like the giant spirit fighting Sun Wukong.

Zhanyue didn’t want to waste much time on this big guy. He moved and kicked Meat Mountain’s knee joint. Meat Mountain was fully armored, but the joints were exposed for flexibility, showing a weakness.

Left leg once, right leg once, left leg again, right leg again. Soon, Meat Mountain’s legs were trembling. After another kick, he directly knelt down, unable to stand up. Such a humiliating posture enraged him, and he threw both axes at Zhanyue.

Facing the thrown axes, Zhanyue leapt up and kicked both axes back. The axes flew past Meat Mountain’s ears without deviation. Meat Mountain could clearly hear the whistling of the axes.

“I… I surrender,” Meat Mountain knew the difference in strength. If Zhanyue hadn’t deliberately spared his life, he would already be dead.

“Good, good!” The crowd applauded enthusiastically. “This newcomer is so powerful. He seemed to only use his feet to easily defeat Meat Mountain.” Everyone was discussing.

Back at the stands, Old Bug’s face was full of joy. “Amazing! I made a fortune on this match!”

“You bet?” Zhanyue asked.

“All my assets, I bet on you,” Old Bug said excitedly. “My assets doubled twice, all thanks to you!”

“You weren’t afraid I’d lose?” Zhanyue smiled.

“How could I be? I always felt you weren’t that simple,” Old Bug said.

The matches continued. The later matches were bloody but less interesting. Soon, the last match ended, but no one left. Because today was the reserved program of a Star Sea month.

“Everyone, you all know what day it is today. Now we start auctioning the right to choose for the reserved program. Starting price is 1,000 star coins,” the host said in a high-pitched voice.

“Reserved program? What’s that?” Zhanyue had never heard of it.

“It’s like this: every so often, the fight organizers auction off a designated slot for a match. The buyer can choose two fighters from today’s battles to fight. It satisfies the curiosity of those noble lords,” Old Bug explained.

“I see, there’s even a customized program for the rich,” Zhanyue could only sigh at the huge wealth gap on the star ship. But if there’s such an obvious gap with the strength differences in this world, what about the Myriad Spirits Realm? It’s probably even more outrageous there. Most ordinary people are just numbers in others’ eyes.

Soon, the bidding ended. The designation right was sold for the high price of 100,000, shocking Zhanyue. “Just to watch a fight they want to see, they really spend money like water.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, according to the buyer’s request, this last fight will be ‘Wild Man’ versus Moon Cutter! According to the organizer’s rules, neither can refuse. Please come to the stage,” the host continued: “I didn’t expect everyone to be so interested in this newcomer. Wild Man isn’t easy to deal with. Let’s see if our newcomer will be torn apart alive by Wild Man.”

“Why did they choose me?” Zhanyue frowned. Did some big shot lose a bet on his match and arrange this fight for revenge? Or did they really want to see him fight Wild Man? Was his previous performance too high-profile?

In a box, a pair of eyes remained fixed on Zhanyue, muttering: “How strange, how strange. Why are there other living people in this world besides that Baizhi? Is there some malfunction? Heavenly Book trial, hmph. Void Emperor, you imprisoned me for so many years, did you really think I wouldn’t hold a grudge? I’ll ruin this trial for you and see.”

On the stage, Wild Man and Zhanyue stood facing each other. Wild Man showed an excited expression. He had long wanted to tear apart this good prey, but unfortunately hadn’t been randomly matched in previous fights. But now, the opponent couldn’t escape.

“Your ability doesn’t seem fit for being a slave. Or do you enjoy this cruel process of killing others?” Zhanyue asked.

Zhanyue guessed correctly. This Wild Man was found outside, naturally bloodthirsty, especially enjoying killing strong people. So he came to this fighting arena and had already won eleven consecutive matches.

“Come, die!” Wild Man didn’t waste words with Zhanyue. The more excited he was, the redder his eyes became.

Soon, Wild Man charged. His speed was much faster than Meat Mountain’s. But the difference wasn’t big. People didn’t even see clearly how Zhanyue kicked, and Wild Man was already kicked back.

“What happened? What’s going on?” The audience was also confused.

Wild Man stood up with disheveled hair, rubbing his stomach which still hurt. But his face was even more excited. So he charged again.

This time, Wild Man flew back at an even faster speed.

Zhanyue yawned boredly, just wanting to end this farce quickly. After all, he couldn’t stay in this world for too long.
