Then HinoKun turned to DragonTalon.
"I am sorry that this happened. Unfortunately, you are not going to get the skill reset scroll."
"Tch."
DragonTalon gritted his teeth angrily and stomped away.
"Thanks for the potions," I said to HinoKun before I chased after DragonTalon.
"Hey, DragonTalon, wait!!!"
"Leave me alone, Antares! I have to go freaking level up!"
Haiz. DragonTalon was so emotional, that it would be better to leave him alone. He was so close to getting second job advancement, too.
Well.
I had to make money.
And that was how people found me that day at the Global Market, a huge space that was accessible from any villages, towns, cities, islands, you name it, where players of all ranks and all jobs set up a stand to sell their goodies.
What I called a stand was a digital stand that looked like a colorful screen in front of the sellers. Buyers could click on it and see the items that were for sale. There was room for negotiation, of course. Each item might or might not go into a bidding process after a certain time. I for example arranged for my potions to enter a bidding process after five hours. During these five hours, players could leave their bids on the items. The one who bade the highest would win the item and the cost would be automatically deducted from the player's pocket.
So, why five hours? Because I would die from boredom if it were more than five hours! I had to sit there on my ass behind my shop after all.
Well, not really.
The good thing about the current Afterlife Dream was that we, the players, were able to multitask. So while I had my shop on, I could at the same time enter my home and make some potions.
After I picked Alchemy as my specialization, I had not had much time to practice my skill and level up. I did not have many items to sell. My purpose in setting up a shop this time was to sell whatever miscellaneous items I had in my inventory to get some money. And I did have some interesting items in my inventory. Being able to take in a lot of stuff indiscriminately had turned me into a hoarder. Well, sort of.
There were some beginner boxes that I earned when I reached level 10, 30, and 50. I did not bother to open them because they were crap in the original game. And I was wrong for looking down at them. Boys and girls... you should open your beginner boxes. They could save you lots of money.
Each of the boxes gave a set of level-appropriate gears and weapon. And 20 level-appropriate HP and MP potions each. Aaaaand... a gachapon coupon. The coupons came in a variety of colors with the word GACHA printed on them in rainbow glitters. Woah. I had never had a gachapon coupon before. Not here, I mean. I used to buy gachapon coupons with real-life money to gamble my luck.
I tucked in the three gachapon coupons happily into the inventory, with the full intention to use them as soon as I ran into a gachapon machine.
There was also a Wedding Gift Box from Kitty's and Wolfhound's wedding. Inside it was a plant seed with the following description : "Plant it and you will find out what it is!"
Alright. My farm was empty anyway. I just need to pay attention to watering and stuff. I was worried that I would kill the plant before it could tell me what it was.
And then there was a Cupid Gift Box from Cupid himself for me, and presumably also DragonTalon, for "having completed the sacred ceremony of matrimony at the Cupid Kingdom."
The words made me cringe. For real. I opened it and I got a... an Angel Feather. I tilted my head to the side in confusion while furrowing my brows. What the? I had two Angel Feathers by now and I did not know what they were for.
Time to gain some intelligence from my future guildmates.
"Hi everyone. Can someone tell me what Angel Feathers are used for?"
A long silence.
They were just talking about partying and grinding though, so why did they suddenly fall silent like that?
And then a PM came from ArrowRain.
pαпdα-ňᴏνêι·сóМ "Antares, I am buying both for 40 million gold. Interested?"
Another came from a dude or dudette named Simpleton.
"I am interested. 35 million gold for both?"
I got a few more of those PMs and could not help but stun. So what I got from the Love Dungeon and the Cupid Gift Box seemed to be something good? Else why would high-level people PM me one by one to buy the feathers? By that time I was more interested in knowing what the feathers were for instead of selling them. Good items should be kept for oneself. I too planned to thrive in Afterlife Dream.
Finally, BlackPuma spoke up in the guild chat.
"Hey, Antares."
"Sup, man," I answered promptly.
"200 Angel feathers could be combined into a pair of wings. These wings could carry you everywhere you wanted, even across maps. I don't know how desperate you are for money right now, but my advice is not to sell it."
A pair of wings.
"I... I can fly with them??" I typed frantically.
No shit.
Why would I sell the feathers? I had always wanted to fly! Well, not always, you knew what I meant. I quickly thanked everyone for their generous but not so generous offers and shut down the messaging windows. I smiled at the two Angel Feathers in my hand. Two out of two hundred. It was a long journey, but it was worth it. I tagged the Angel Feathers as "Personal Item, not to be sold" in order to prevent myself from making the unintended mistake.
After doing my research for the other items I planned to sell, I was ready to open my first shop. I picked a cozy spot and then I carefully lined up the items for sale.
I had :
1 Unseen Potion for 50,000,000
20 Beginner's MP potions for 500 each.
20 Beginner's HP potions for 500 each.
20 Intermediate's MP potions for 2000 each.
20 Intermediate's HP potions for 2000 each.
...
My finger stopped at the one piece of Mammoth mount that I got from the Love Dungeon. I had neither mount nor pet. I should save the pieces until I had my own.
