A New Power (2)
The rewards for conquering the ‘Transcendent’s Room’ were divided into three branches.
First, the ability stats gained as an achievement reward.
Second, the rune obtained from overcoming the trial.
Third, the awakening of the Bon obtained through special conditions.
Moreover, according to Fluvius, the rewards for the conquest can be chosen directly by the holder.
However, the current information windows show things that have been automatically decided without any choice.
In other words, the ‘material rewards’ commonly referred to as the ‘rest room’ in regular dungeons… are separate from these.
“Here they are.”As soon as I opened the door and came out, I couldn’t see them at first because the information window blocked my view, but after walking a little, I saw the rewards right in front of me.
A total of 3 gem boxes.
And in front of them was a single key.
It seemed we could only take one of them.
“Hmm…”
The gem boxes were simple yet intense.
The first box contained dozens of brilliantly shining high-grade magic stones, the second contained a sword in the shape of a dragon, and the last box held a pair of simple blue boots.
I didn’t have to ponder for long.
“I already have the other things.”
The sword was already efficient enough with [Penitent’s Sword], and magic stones, although I have quite a few, can still be bought with money.
However, these boots emitting a peculiar aura were different.
I had already purchased and was using decent rare-grade boots, but they couldn’t be compared to the rewards obtained from conquering the ‘Transcendent’s Room’.

The basic stat bonuses were great, and the special effects were perfect.
A 30% increase in power to all my movement-related runes like footwork and charge runes meant a significant boost.
And the second special effect allowed me to move freely in mid-air without [Levitation], just like the Master’s [Sky-Walking] skill she demonstrated in this battle.
Swish-
Swish Swish- Cang!
As I was looking over the reward, the remaining gem boxes suddenly vanished like they had been warped away.
As expected, I could only choose one out of the three.
And my body was warped again, to a specific location.
It was the large tree where I had first entered the <Transcendent’s Room: Fluvius>.
“Jae-hyun.”
“Ah, Master.”
Outside, my Master had arrived first.
Unlike me, she had chosen a weapon – a pair of short swords engraved with peculiar patterns that she was fondling.
“You chose the weapons, Master?”
“Yes. And you chose those boots, Jae-hyun?”
“Yes. The effects are amazing.”
A legendary item, moreover one related to the Transcendent Fluvius herself. It was bound to have incredible effects, living up to those conditions.
I bowed my head slightly to my Master.
“Thank you, Master.”
“Hm? For what?”
She asked with a puzzled look, then added softly, “You’re not trying to say you succeeded in the trial because of me, are you?”
I gave a small laugh at that.
I’m not that humble either.
This Transcendent’s trial was the result of my Master and I working together.
If my Master hadn’t been there, it would have been quite dangerous for me too.
However…
“Don’t you think the Transcendent’s trial was too short, Master?”
“Too short?”
“Yes. Even if the Transcendents can set their own trials, it seems strange that the trial ended just by defeating one powerful clone, no matter how much stronger it was than most bosses. The rewards we received seem too great in comparison.”
At those words, my Master pondered for a moment, then nodded.
“Indeed… You’re right.”
“I think it’s because we had already completed the existing dungeon ‘The River Touched by the Breath of a Dragon’ beforehand. Since we had already fulfilled all the difficult conquest conditions of the higher dungeon, we only needed to prove that we could overcome the trial.”
No matter how many dungeons had appeared so far, the concept of the <Transcendent’s Room> was something my Master and I discovered for the first time.
In other words, this dungeon is not discovered through the physical world like ordinary dungeons.
Although not certain, most <Transcendent’s Rooms> were likely ‘double dungeons’ like this one.
The structure would be to gradually conquer higher dungeons, and finally reach the Transcendent as the underlying legend.
After conveying this hypothesis to my Master, I smiled and said, “So thank you. For allowing me to receive the trial rewards even though I didn’t participate in the conquest of this dungeon.”
The reason the rewards for the <Transcendent’s Room: Fluvius> trial were so great was also because the trial rewards were a hidden piece for the conquest of <The River Touched by the Breath of a Dragon>.
Master shook her head slightly.
“Well, you were able to come here in one go thanks to being a Oath Bearer and that giant turtle, Jae-hyun.”
“Still, if it weren’t for you, Master, I wouldn’t have been able to enter this dungeon at all.”
When I first met my Master…
It was clearly out of necessity for each other.
Master needed me to meet the conditions for entering the <Transcendent’s Room>, and I needed Master to learn more about the Assassin class after conquering the <Stained Rock Pile> dungeon.
We each had our own goals when we met, and it was only today that we achieved that result together.
But now…
No matter what anyone said, we had become a Master and disciple who resembled each other a lot.
“I’m grateful too, Jae-hyun. Thanks to my disciple, I as the Master was able to break through another wall.”
That’s why I could see the small smile of my Master, the S-grade Holder Yoo Eun-seol, like this.
…Master’s smiling face is quite rare though.
“Oh, Master. What will you do about the information on the Transcendent’s Room? Will you make it public to the Association?”
The new concept we discovered today for the first time, the <Transcendent’s Room>.
Although it immediately presents the highest difficulty trial upon entry, if one can overcome it, immense rewards are given in this special dungeon.
If revealed, it would be a groundbreaking event that could turn the Holder world upside down.
Master pondered for a moment, then answered, “I should make it public. Just as we uncovered completely new information today, there are still many uncharted areas in the Holder world. We cannot ignore the collective intelligence.”
When information is shared, research advances.
We are not a special criminal organization like <Villain>, so there is no need for us to monopolize information that could improve the conditions of Holders.
“But I’ll hold off for a bit. Until I get used to the new power we obtained, and organize a report on this conquest.”
“Understood.”
It was a neat decision.
Master suddenly seemed to remember something important and added, “And I’ll be taking a break from your dedicated lessons for a while. You need a vacation too, Jae-hyun.”
Although my Master will soon quit her lecturer job at the Academy, she is still my exclusive Master.
Of course, lessons will continue even during vacations when there are no regular classes.
However, she also needed time to rest, and I needed personal time for self-reflection.
For that, my Master declared a temporary long-term leave of absence.
“How long will you rest for?”
“About a month should be enough, I think.”
“A month…”
I trailed off for a moment, gazing at the large tree’s dungeon entrance we had emerged from.
Master nodded at my gaze.
“Yes. Let’s come back here. To this place, the Transcendent’s Room.”
Fluvius said we could only re-enter the <Transcendent’s Room> after a month had passed.
Of course, she said that even if we came back then, she wouldn’t share as many stories as this time…
But still, from our standpoint of gathering information and writing reports, there was no reason not to re-explore this uncharted area.
Master and I promised to meet here again exactly a month later…
…and ended the long day.

“Come on, hurry up and show me, Jae-hyun.”
“Wait a minute. This is the first time I’ve summoned him since then too.”
I scratched my head at Moon Ga-eun’s constant urging from beside me.
<Nest Covered by Cloud>.
The dungeon is filled with memories of conquering it together with Moon Ga-eun.
A difficult dungeon where mainly aerial-type monsters appear…
But now, it had become more of a date spot that we frequently visited whenever we wanted to hunt together.
Since we owned the dungeon rights, we didn’t have to worry about other Holders, which was convenient in its own way.
And it had also become the main place where I summoned my contractor, now a Tyrbon.
Tyrbon’s residence was my personal dungeon [Goblin’s Village], but that dungeon was just large with low-level monsters, making it unsuitable for experimentation.
<Nest Covered by Cloud> made up for that shortcoming.
Especially today, it was the first time I was summoning Tyrbon after receiving the rewards from the <Transcendent’s Room: Fluvius>.
Moon Ga-eun was clinging tightly to my side with her arms crossed, eager to witness it.
‘Then… Call of the Contract.’
Without further ado, I used the [Call of the Contract] skill of the [Summon] rune.
As soon as I cast the skill, the dungeon began to rumble.
Roar–!!
Kyaaoooo–!!
With a tremendous tremor, an enormous figure appeared within the dungeon.
A familiar yet unfamiliar appearance.
Seen before yet changed in appearance.
Its entire body was made of bones, but a luminous blue glow shimmered between them.
Like gems were embedded all over its body, it had a mystical appearance.
And…
-Greetings, Master. I am Tyrbon.
For some reason, it sounded more energetic than before…
And Tyrbon, extremely satisfied with his own name, addressed me.
‘This guy… He’s really loving it.’
Seeing my contractor so happy makes me feel good too.
I lightly smiled as I received his greeting, then called up the information window I had postponed since last time to check the ‘new powers’ Tyrbon and I had gained.
