“Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I might have an idea of what we need to do in this trial. When I first woke up here, my mind was filled up with images of ‘Mystic Pearl.’ I think that is what our objective is this time.”
Aurora heard the message but it did not compute inside her mind.
Or, it was more accurate to say that she had never heard of a ‘Mystic Pearl’ before. It was certainly not an artifact that existed under normal circumstances.
“Is there any other information you can share with us about this ‘Mystic Pearl?’ I don’t think I’ve heard of it before.”
“Me neither. But I can ask around.”
Rita seemed equally worried about the existence of this new artifact. This certainly curled out the possibility of this place being crafted from someone’s memories entirely.
It was surely possible that the abyssal magic was playing tricks on the trio.
“To be honest, I feel like I’ve known about the existence of the Mystic Peral forever but I know this is my first time hearing this name as well. I’m sorry that I cannot be of any more use.”
Natasha looked down. Aurora could understand why the youngest was feeling like this.
This was most likely her first experience with the abyss and it was through a trial. It was a given that Natasha would be confused under these circumstances.
“Don’t let it get to you kid. You are doing the most you can. But it would be better for us not to contact each other too much.”
“Why?”
Rita’s words were followed by a confused question from Natasha.
“It’s because of our present situation. Rita and I are with the tower right now while you are the princess of the Northern Republic. And the relationship between the two groups is not the best.”
“It would be better for us to contact each other with the system.”
“System?”
“Ah, wait. Give me your arm and I’ll show you how to use it.”
Aurora took the offered hand before she activated her system to make a sub-copy.
Since Aurora was on a trial right now, the system she made was not of the highest capacity. It had limited functionality.
And by that, Aurora meant that it could only serve as a communication device. Most of the higher functionalities needed to be cultivated with time.

“Take care of yourself and keep me posted about your update. We still don’t know where our objective for this trial is.”
Aurora hated to be the party pooper but she had to do what she must.
She was mainly doing this for herself and to remind her kind not to get too comfortable with this setting.
“Of course, I’ll keep in touch. I’ll also try asking around and looking into this topic more. I have a feeling that the Northern Republic is somehow connected to this case.
To be honest, Aurora had a similar feeling when she heard Natasha’s words.
There had to be a reason the voice had sought out Natasha out of the three to deliver this message.
Not to mention, the trail has been developed by the Northern Republic. It was more than likely that it favoured the Northern Republic people than the tower soldiers.
“Alright. Keep your eyes out and take care of yourself. I should get going now before I am found out to be missing.”
Aurora wanted to stay longer and figure a few more things out. But she knew she had to go back. Quince would be getting on her back anytime soon.
He was a persistent one but he was not the real reason Aurora was heading back. Clove would be worried if Aurora stayed out for too long.
‘How pathetic. Even in this trial, I am concerned about Clove and her feelings.’
Aurora did not know when this obsession had started but the more she fell into it, the calmer she felt.
In the end, that was what led Aurora to sneak back into her room without alerting the soldiers but she was not lucky enough to avoid all the watching eyes.
And as the normal tower fashion, the gossip did not take long to travel all over the camp.
===========================
Aurora tip-towed into her room to avoid making any noise.
But her efforts failed as soon as she took a single step inside the room. The pair of blue eyes looking back at Aurora halted her in her steps.
“You were late. Did it take this long for you to shower?”
“Ah, C-Clove. What are you doing here?”
Aurora tried to change the topic as soon as her lover brought it up. Aurora had never been able to lie well in front of Clove.
And she knew if she opened her mouth, then Aurora was sure to get caught in her lies.
“Aurora, don’t try and change the topic. You were not at the baths, right? I heard the news all over. Do you prefer Rita over me?”
Aurora stopped cold as soon as she heard those words.
She knew she should not have ignored the gossip going on all around the camp. But it seemed like Aurora had not learned her lesson in her previous life.
“Of course, I do not prefer Rita over you. We just met for the first time today and I was a little surprised. This is all. You don’t need to worry about this so much.”
Aurora flinched as soon as she finished speaking,
She was getting too defensive over something that was not even worth talking about. Had it been any other person or any other situation, Aurora was sure she would have brushed it off easily.
But just because it was Rita, it somehow felt wrong to let things left unsaid. Aurora wanted to air out everything and take out the heavy feeling inside her heart.
“If that is all then I’m relieved. Maybe I was too quick to believe the rumors. I should think over my actions.”
“N-No. it’s not your fault. The situation was just a bit weird so anyone could have misunderstood.”
Once again, Aurora did not know why she was making such a heavy effort to justify her actions. But Aurora could not help but feel guilty.
But guilty over what? She had not done anything wrong.
This all was not even real, to begin with.
“I understand. So let’s end this debate for now. Come here, lie down next to me. I just want to spend time with you.”
Aurora sighed in relief as soon as Clove patted her side. She quickly made her way over to her lover and threw her body on the bed.
It was far too comfortable for Aurora’s liking. Her back was not used to such comfort and Aurora found it difficult to lie down.
Clove finally took pity on Aurora when she twisted and turned around for the fourth time in a minute.
Strong arms circled Aurora’s waist and pulled her back into a soft chest. Aurora felt the touch of Clove’s soft touch of breasts against her back.
It felt relaxing but Aurora could also not help her body from getting excited.
She was not sure what it was about Clove, but Aurora felt excited every time she was near her. That was the whole reason Aurora had started changing the other female.
And then it gradually turned into love along the way.
“Don’t give me that look. Just let me enjoy your body. It’s been a long time since we’ve been to a safe place like this. I just missed you a lot.”
Aurora wanted to tell Clove that she had missed her more.
Unlike the Clove in this trial, Aurora had not be
