A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 165 - 165 Ch. 165 Walk To The Thames

165 Ch. 165 Walk To The Thames

Anxia, flanked by Harmonie and Michele―walked along the road leading to the Thames. Neither Harmonie nor Michele wanted to let go of their hands as if their hands had been attached like postage stamps to Anxia’s arms. Anxia didn’t feel hot or irritated at all. Instead, she felt delighted that the two women relied on her to lessen the chill from the night breeze.

Even though it was still summer, the weather in London would still get chilly once the night came, and it would be colder.

Anxia was used to traveling and had to endure even the most frigid temperatures while carrying out her assassination missions. This weather was nothing compared to when she was sent to Alaska to infiltrate a hidden laboratory.

On the contrary, Harmonie and Michele preferred basking in the sun to face the cold winter weather. Therefore, they wore thick clothes and jackets whenever they left the house if the temperature was too low for their liking.

Alas, both ladies thought the weather wouldn’t be so hard, considering they were still in the summer. It explained how they only wear one jacket and thin scarves around their necks.

The three walked casually while occasionally stopping in the middle of the road to enjoy a street performance. The time that should have taken half an hour turned into more than an hour because the three stopped by to buy hot drinks. They were too engrossed in chatting while enjoying the city view at night to the point no one remembered that the two men must have been worried about them all the moment the men couldn’t find the woman in the bar.

“By the way, we haven’t told the boys we’re walking over here,” Anxia was the first one to remember.

“Oh, no! Rei must be panicking not to find me there.” Michele immediately reached for her phone in her sling bag. And sure enough―there were dozens of missed calls on her phone screen.

Apart from Michele, who felt guilty and panicked as if she was about to be chased by bounty hunters, Anxia and Harmonie were relaxed. Harmonie didn’t feel guilty because she had already informed her two older siblings that she wanted time with her two in-laws. But she forgot to tell them the location of their destination and… still didn’t feel guilty.

.....

On the other hand, Anxia looked relaxed and calm. But in her heart, she prayed that Richard would not be angry and punish her. It was enough for her to be punished by the man like this afternoon when Anxia insisted on having a volleyball match with Michele.

Her thighs, hands, and feet ached from the man’s love game. Anxia couldn’t imagine whether her body would survive if her husband gave her the same punishment tonight.

“Hello, Rei.” Michele’s sweet melodious voice brought Anxia from her reverie. “I’m sorry… I completely forgot… We are now on the Thames….”

Anxia and Harmonie exchanged smiles seeing the panicked look on Michele’s face, making Anxia wonder if Raymond also gave Michele a ‘punishment.’

Even though the twins seemed to have different traits and personalities, Anxia knew they had the same mindset. That’s why the twins could understand each other’s thoughts just by looking into their brother’s eyes.

Do all twins have that bond? Or was it because of their extraordinary brotherhood? What does it feel like to have a sibling? Anxia would never know as she had none. She had a chance to be a sister to Michele Wong, but she ruined it.

Once again, Anxia glanced at Michele, who was still talking to her husband on the phone. She wondered if their relationship had improved now. Can Anxia go back to how she used to be―a sister to Michele?

The biggest question is… is Michelle willing to take her back as a sister?

However, as Anxia pondered this, she felt goosebumped, and her instinct kicked in. She looked behind her, then glanced in all directions with her heart trembling violently from how panicked she was.

Anxia had never felt panic before because panic would always prevent her from thinking straight. But… when she felt a pair of eyes watching them, Anxia couldn’t help but tremble in terror.

If she were alone here, she wouldn’t panic and could act normally. But Michele and Harmonie were with her―by her side. She couldn’t imagine what would happen if her enemy decided to attack her by ambushing them. Furthermore, Richard and Raymond weren’t with them, increasing her anxiety.

Anxia squinted to look around carefully. She concentrated all her senses on her vision and instinct, so she didn’t listen when Harmonie called her repeatedly.

“Anxia!”

Anxia’s focused sight was instantly shattered as soon as Harmonie stood right in front of her. Without her permission, her senses returned to normal, and she could no longer detect the malicious intent toward them.

“What is it? Why are you pale?” asked Harmonie worriedly.

Anxia glanced again in a certain direction without answering her sister-in-law’s question. After confirming that there was nothing suspicious, Anxia answered Harmonie’s question.

“Nothing. This place is a bit overcrowded.”

The Thames was always crowded because of the beautiful scenery with romantic ambiance. But Harmonie never came here at night, so she believed Anxia’s lie.

At the same time, Michele had just ended her call with her husband and informed them that the two men would be arriving in about ten minutes.

Anxia sighed in relief when she heard that Richard and Raymond would be arriving soon. From now on, she would never take a vulnerable girl without her husband―noted Anxia.

The ladies decided to sit on a bench by the river while waiting for Richard and Raymond to arrive. They resumed chatting and joking happily, but Anxia couldn’t focus on their conversation.

Her eyes occasionally would dart around to make sure there was no threat of danger coming their way but found nothing.

‘Ah, am I being too paranoid?’ Anxia couldn’t help but wonder herself and decided not to overthink it.
