Chapter 459: Rendering them useless.

“Where are you heading to?” Camilla asked.

“To the cafeteria for lunch.” Blake replied.

“Same here.” Camilla replied.

Although they were not quite hungry, they wanted to spend some time with each other. The best place to do that without further complicating matters is by staying in the open.

The cafeteria was on the 4th floor and was meant for the captains and their second in command.

“Did Lauren tell you where she was going to?” Blake asked as he scanned the menu.

“No, why do you ask?” Camilla asked with an ‘interested’ look.

.....

“Well, when we I was talking to you about the mission her micro-expressions were all over the place. So if my guess is correct then she is most likely going to confirm if all I said was true.”

‘If not she would report me and try to get me punished.’

Blake didn’t say the last part because he was sure it would affect Camilla’s relationship with her 2nd in command even if he was wrong.

“How are you so sure?” Camilla asked.

“When talking to people in public, I always keep an eye out for the faces around. From there you will be able to catch some involuntary facial expressions.”

“If you want to go further, you can listen to their breathing pattern and heartbeat.” Blake explained as he finally decided on what he was having for lunch.

“How come you don’t know this?” Blake was surprised when he saw Camilla surprised about his explanation.

Blake had read a lot of psychology books back on Earth, but it was only after meeting Luciano and Camilla who were not only smart but also cunning, that he decided to start applying the things he learnt.

So it came as a shock to him that she didn’t know about it.

“Well, my family has thought me to not only control my emotions, but also that of others, especially men. So I am able to notice something, but not to this extent.” Camilla said.

[Why do I feel like you have empowered a possible future enemy?] The system said.

‘First, the chances of that happening are now very low. Secondly, it is just a matter of time till she learns how to do it.’ Blake said to the system.

When their food was warped to their table, Blake noticed 2 men with their trays coming to their table.

‘Where do people find the energy to disturb others.’ Blake shook his head after seeing that the table the 2 men were coming from had 3 people currently sitting with 2 free seats.

Also, from the looks on their faces, it was more than clear that they were coming to cause trouble.

When they got to their table, they pulled out the chair, but as they were about to sit, Blake summoned Ebony and Ivory. They instantly reduced into miniature sizes and took the chairs.

This left one more seat open, but after seeing and feeling the bone-chilling auras of the 2 miniature wolves they quietly and shamefully moved past their table and sat on an empty table causing a lot of captains in the cafeteria to burst out into laughter.

“I am so sorry for the glare, looks and harassment coming our way.” Camilla said in a helpless tone.

Although sometimes she loved the attention, most times it was annoying especially when she is enjoying her time with Blake.

“You don’t have to apologize, I already knew what I was getting into when I agreed to date the most beautiful lady in the ash corps.” Blake said causing Camilla’s face to turn beet red and making every guy that saw her blush even more angry at him.

“Besides a good portion of the looks are coming from the ladies. So you better watch your back.” Blake said with a smirk.

He wasn’t lying, almost every captain both male and female was angry because the most attractive people of both genders were very close.

...

After lunch, the couple had to separate and deal with the issues of their units.

Since he had fixed the training session in one of the training rooms on the 4th floor, Blake went straight to the location.

‘Assert dominance then gain their respect.’ Blake said to himself as he entered the training room.

Just like the magic school castle, the Square was an artifact which protected and powered everyone and everything going on inside.

As for the training rooms, they were no different from those of the magic school, even the golden barrier protection was still the same thing.

The only catch was that they were protected from death only when they were inside the training rooms.

“Commander Darius has given us some days off to train our synergy and learn whatever is necessary for our future missions to be successful.” Blake said while staring at Yavin.

“So first, for us to improve we will have to find out our strengths and weaknesses. So to not waste time, you all will be fighting me.” Blake said shocking everyone.

“To make things harder for me, I won’t be using this.” Blake brought out Ebony and Ivory before throwing it to the side.

‘Is he crazy or what? That was the only way he could win us.’

‘I have to thank the heavens for giving me the opportunity to put this cocky bastard in his place.’

‘Before I was indifferent to everything, but he is too cocky and has to be put in check.’

The entire unit took offense to Blake’s words and now wanted to put him in his place, but they had no idea this was his plan all along.

‘The only time they would be willing to learn is when I make them realize that they are useless in both the small and big picture.’ Blake thought as an evil smirk appeared on his face, further infuriating the ash corps that couldn’t do anything about it, at least for now.
